If you’re traveling within the Schengen zone, you can
use the transfer tunnel linking the A and B gates without
having to pass through an additional security check. It extends from between Gates A 15 and A 17 to near Gate B 13.

near the airport. There are long trails for hiking or jogging
and a large adventure play area for children. You can get
there in just 15 minutes by bus no. 62 from Terminal 1 or
2 – get off at Rheinlandstrasse.
Heidelberg is one of Germany’s most charming and beautiful
cities. Visit the world-famous castle with its large courtyard,
and explore the Old Town, the Old Bridge, Karl’s Gate, and
many other attractions.

From the airport’s regional train station, you can reach central
Frankfurt in only 15 minutes by suburban train (S-Bahn) S 8

What is VAT?
All merchandise sold in Europe is subject to a so-called
value-added tax (VAT). In Germany, there are two VAT rates:
7% and 19%. If you visit the European Union (EU) but live
elsewhere, you can get a refund on any VAT spent when
leaving. This makes it quite a bit cheaper for you to make
purchases in Germany, compared to EU residents.
Our tip: Make VAT-free purchases at Frankfurt Airport
You can obtain advice, information, and assistance for
making VAT-free purchases in any shop at Frankfurt Airport.
In the duty-free shops, value-added tax has already been
eliminated from the prices.
You can obtain VAT refunds from the following businesses at
Frankfurt Airport:

your bags and return them to you

passport, the receipts, and the
completed forms.
–Make sure that the items are still unused and that you can present them.
4. Obtain the refund
–Go to a refund counter.
