How to Backup a Course
To ensure a smooth transition from the old SPeCTRUM to the new one (Version 2.00+), you will need
to do your own back up (and restore) of the materials from your old courses. Since the two systems
differ quite significantly, a mass migration of all materials cannot be done automatically. Please
execute the following steps carefully (Note: this method is also applicable if you just want to
make a copy of your course materials).
1. Log in to the old SPeCTRUM (accessible from your new SPeCTRUM page under
Archives), find the course you want to transfer under Administration menu, click
Backup.
2. Tick the items (activity/resource) you want to backup.

Leave

files & Site files
used in this
course to “Yes”
4. SPeCTRUM will then create a backup file in ‘zip’ format with a default name. You
may change the file name BUT make sure to keep the ‘.zip’ extension.
