Configure your wireless network (“real”) Virtual AP for the mesh • Configuration | Wireless | AP Configuration | AP Group click Edit for your wireless network AP group (not the mesh group). • Open Mesh in the tree structure and select Mesh Radio Profile. Change the Mesh Radio Profile to the one created in step 4. • Click Apply. • Select Mesh Cluster Profile in the tree structure and add the Mesh Cluster Profile created in step 5. Create an AP group configuration for the Remote Mesh Portal • Configuration | Wireless | AP Configuration | AP Group (AP Specific would work as well but is slightly different.) • Click New | type in a name for the AP group and click Add. (We use “AP group testNET (Remote Mesh Portal)” in this example.) • Click Edit next to the new AP group. • Wireless LAN | Virtual AP select the Virtual AP Profile for your wireless network SSID (not the mesh) and click Add. • Now select the Virtual AP for the mesh and click Add. • Click Apply. • Open Mesh in the tree structure and select Mesh Radio Profile. Change the Mesh Radio Profile to the one created in step 4. • Click Apply. The priority should be set to 1. • Click Add. • Click Apply. 10. Configure the Remote Mesh Portal • We assume that the AP is a Remote AP already. For information on how to set up Remote APs, please see the Aruba documentation. • Configuration | Wireless | AP Installation Remote Mesh Portal select the AP that is supposed to become a click Provision. • Change the AP group to the group we configured in step 9. This is the one with two VAPs. • Set the Mesh Role to Remote Mesh Portal. • Click Apply and Reboot. 11. Configure the Remote Mesh Points • Configuration | Wireless | AP Installation Remote Mesh Point select the AP that is supposed to become a click Provision. • Change the AP group to the group that contains your wireless network SSID configuration (not the mesh group) • The IP Settings must be set to “Obtain IP Address Using DHCP”. • Set the Mesh Role to Remote Mesh Point. • Click Apply and Reboot. • Be patient.
