Music production and technology
Computer-based technology occupies a central position in music production, composition, sound recording and,
increasingly, in live performance. These roles are expanding as the technology itself continues to evolve. Our music
production and technology studio is equipped with industry-standard hardware and software suited to these
diverse roles. We limit our class size to 10 to ensure every learner gets plenty of individual attention. Most of our
software is cross-platform and any difference in Mac and PC systems will be explained. Familiarity with computers
will be a distinct advantage and City Lit runs regular introduction to the Mac courses. Students should bring a pair of
comfortable headphones although standard headphones will be available for those without their own. Our students
are entitled to educational discounts when purchasing most of the music software we teach. Additional workshops
and masterclasses are announced throughout the year so remember to check our website regularly for news.
