Kharagpur is well connected by railways from all
parts of country. There are taxis and cycle
rickshaws available at the station through the
day and night. liT campus is located about 5 km
from the railway station. The approximate fares
are Taxi- Rs. 130 and cycle rickshaw - Rs 70.
In September, the weather at Kharagpur is
pleasant. The day temperature is around 20-30
C and in night it comes down to 15-25°C.

All the participants have to be registered for the short
term course.
CATEGORY·1: There is no registration fees for the
teachers
from
the AICTE
sponsored
colleges/universities/NITsIIITs. They would also be
reimbursed 2nd class to and fro railway fare via
shortest route upon submission of tickets. Free
accommodation would be provided inside the institute
Guest Houses. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be
served. They should provide endorsement from the
Head ofthe Organization in the registration form.
CATEGORY·2: The participants from industries and
R&D organizations have to pay Rs 10,000 per person
as registration fee. This includes the basic charges for
the food and lecture materials. Travelling and lodging
expenses should be borne by the participant. The
registration fees should be paid in the form of Bank
Draft drawn in favour of "CEP - STC, liT Kharagpur"
payable at Kharagpur.

materials have comes in big way as structural
materials as replacement of metal and alloys and
also to mitigate increasing demand of energy. This
course will cover the basic understanding of

materials for day to day applications and for
