TAKE THE ALLERGY TEST FIRST!
Product may cause serious inflammation of the skin in some persons, and a preliminary test should always be made to determine whether special
sensitivity exists. To make the test, a small area of skin behind the ear or on the inner surface of the forearm should be cleansed, using either soap
and water or alcohol, and a small quantity of the hair dye should be applied to the area and allowed to dry. After 24 hours, the area should be
washed gently with soap and water. If redness, burning, or itching occurs, you may be allergic and you must not use this product. If no irritation or
inflammation is apparent, it may be assumed that no hypersensitivity to the dye exists. The test should be made before each application. The hair
dye should never be used for dyeing eyebrows or eyelashes, as severe inflammation of the eye or even blindness may result.

Always use an old towel when drying hair - color will stain towel.
Protect forehead area and ears with petroleum jelly to prevent staining of skin.
Keep product off of all bathroom or kitchen surfaces - Splat will stain anything it comes in contact with.
Caution: Splat colors are extremely concentrated. Splat colors will bleed onto clothing and bedding if your hair is wet or
damp. Make sure hair is fully dry before getting dressed or going to bed.

Comb hair straight back.
Put on frosting cap.
Tuck hair in under cap and tie cap ribbons snugly under chin.
Choose up to 12 locations for strands to be pulled through. Pull strands of hair through the selected holes by pushing the
hook through the hole, picking up a strand of hair and pulling it back through with half a turn.
• After you’ve finished, gently comb each strand out so you are sure the entire strand has been pulled through.
• You can pull through larger or smaller amounts of hair depending on the look you want to achieve.
• Do not apply if skin or scalp is broken or abraded.
• Put on gloves.
• Carefully remove cap from Splat Oxide bottle while pointing bottle away from face. Tear
open Splat Lightening Bleach. Carefully pour entire contents of Splat Lightening Bleach
packette into Splat Oxide bottle, replace cap. Shake well for 1 minute. Wait 1 minute for
product to thicken. While pointing bottle away from face, slowly remove the cap. Attach
the enclosed applicator tip to Splat Oxide bottle.
• Hold strand in gloved hand, apply bleach mixture generously to hair with flat end of
styling hook/applicator, pull mixture through with gloved hand. Make sure hair is
thoroughly saturated with bleach mixture. Use flat end of the styling hook applicator
to rub bleach mixture into hair thoroughly. Apply mixture to back strands first and work
your way forward. Place strands away from face.
• Loosely pile strands on head (do not press down on frosting cap.)
• WARNING: DO NOT leave bleach mixture contents in applicator bottle for more than
2 minutes without using. Contents can build pressure and bottle may burst.
Immediately after using bleach mixture, remove nozzle (point away from face),
rinse bottle and discard.
• Check bleach timing chart for timing directions. Check hair strands every 10 minutes by wiping bleach mixture from one
strand of hair, if hair is not pale blonde, re-coat hair strand with bleach mixture.
• For each check use a different hair strand. Leave bleach mixture on hair until hair has reached a pale yellow blonde color.
• If deep vibrant color is desired, make sure hair is bleached to a very light pale blonde. Re-bleaching may be necessary for
darker hair. Do not apply bleach to hair that has been processed with metallic dyes.
• Once strands have achieved ideal lightness, leave frosting cap in place and rinse off mixture with lukewarm water. Shampoo
thoroughly. Repeat.
Apply color to dry hair
• Dry hair thoroughly.
• Protect clothing with a cape or an old towel.
• Protect forehead area and ears with petroleum jelly to prevent staining of skin.

• Choose up to 3 strands for 1st color application.
• Open one of the packettes of color. Protect different colored hair strands from contact with
other colored hair strands while applying and processing color.
• Hold hair strands in gloved hand, apply color thoroughly to hair strands, pull through with
gloved hand. Do as many strands as you desire with color.
• Open another packette of color and repeat above instructions.
• If desired, open 3rd color and repeat above instructions.
• Let color process according to the color timing chart.
• After processing is complete, leave frosting cap in place and rinse off color mixture. Be sure
to prevent different colored hair strands from contact with other hair strands, discoloration
can occur. Shampoo thoroughly. Rinse, apply conditioner. Then gently remove frosting cap.
Rinse hair thoroughly.
• It is very important to make sure water runs clear every time you shampoo.
