We pour out our hearts and adoration to Him and He soaks in our love and receives us. Then in exchange, He shares His beautiful Words with us. As we spend ourselves upon the Lord, He gives back to us and opens His heart to us, just as we open ours to Him. Psalms 100:1-3 Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all you lands. 2 Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. 3 Know you that the LORD he is God: it is he that has made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Mark 12:30-31 NLT And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength. DANCING AND TONGUES TOGETHER One time I was worshipping the Lord at home via tongues and also interceding while dancing to worship music. I have always been blessed by praying in the Spirit in worship, so this came natural to me. However, I had danced and I had prayed, but not both together as a form of intercession. Suddenly His Presence was all over me and I became totally abandoned in worship as I prayed and danced at the same time. I was so covered in His Presence I was astounded. I didn’t stop until I was just too tired to continue. This happened right before I went to bed. When I went to bed I had a vision. VISION: I entered a beautiful glowing room somewhere in heaven. I saw candles glowing, and smelled sweet smelling perfumes all over the room. I was standing inside the door of this room and began dancing, praying in tongues and interceding just like I had done before going to bed. The Lord told me I had found a new door into His Presence and that He was very pleased. DANCING AS WORSHIP TO HIM The Lord dwells in the praises of His people. (Psalm 22:3) When we enter worship, there is an intimacy and precious touch as the Lord speaks straight into our heart and melts all our barriers. In His Presence, He pierces our soul with His love and it can touch our life like nothing else. Nothing can separate us from His love once we know it. Those who are longing for Him with open arms are finding more of Him than ever before. They are enjoying freedoms in worship they didn’t know existed. Their “religious boxes” of how to do things properly are falling away and they are expressing their love for Him without restraints. They are worshipping Him with their whole spirit, soul and body. He’s not looking for a people who play church, He’s looking for a people who ARE His church. There’s a difference. His church is His bride, and that bride loves Him passionately. The last day church is excited about God. It’ pouring out, loving and gushing all over the world. There is only one priority of this last day bride: To love God with her whole heart, mind and soul, and to love others the same way. The Lord is speaking to His bride by raining the intimacy of His refreshing Presence on those who give Him adoring worship. And He is also speaking to the world through His passionate bride as her love for Him bubbles over. Look out world! THE POWER OF CORPORATE WORSHIP There is a power available at a group level of worship that is not as available on an individual level. Jesus said, “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them.” (Matthew 18:20 KJ) There is a synergistic effect that takes place at a group level. If you think about the fact that each person whose name is written in the book of life has a guardian angel, and when two or more gather in His name, their angels also gather. And when two or more gather, there is more faith and more power than just one. Then add the fact that each person who has accepted Jesus as their personal Savior has the Holy Spirit living in their heart, and then add the fact that God’s Presence via His Holy Spirit is also present in the meeting. — What a combination of power! Jesus spoke of this and modeled it in His own life. It was a foundation for Him in communion with the Father. This was His alone time with God where He was refreshed and received His instructions of what the Father was saying and doing. I pray in tongues a LOT. Sometimes it is whispers with punctuated loud breath (smile). Sometimes it is fast and loud in the car by myself. Sometimes it is just my normal voice with normal speaking tones as I am working around the house. In the middle of the night it is whispers without hardly any breath at all. When I walk in parking lots and stores, I have learned how to whisper under my breath in tongues without moving my lips. I am praying according to the will of God. Matthew 6:6 But you, when you pray, enter into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret shall reward you openly. Luke 6:12 And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. Matthew 14:23 And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone. Rom 8:26-27 NKJV Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. There are many kinds of prayers and intercessors. There are loud prayers, soft prayers, silent prayers, whispered prayers, written prayers, singing prayers, instrument prayers, tongues prayers, groaning and yearning prayers, dancing prayers, banner prayers, living prayers and even wishful thinking prayers. I am sure there are even more kinds of prayers!! I believe that the Lord is so desperate for our prayers, that He turns most anything into a prayer, including our heart’s desires, when our hearts are turned toward Him. Different styles of prayer can be likened to a teacher having different teaching styles. One style is similar to a salesman who talks AT the students. There’s a lecture with no pause for questions or response. It’s the same with prayer; this kind of prayer may be quite fluent and say a lot, but there isn’t a lot of pausing when the Lord can get a Word in edgewise. This is a one-way communication when the person talks and the Lord listens. One should not expect to hear the Lord during this kind of prayer. This is more for breaking through to be able to hear Him afterwards. Another kind of prayer is like a teacher who talks WITH the students. Instead of standing at the blackboard, the teacher is out among the students perhaps sharing a bit, then pausing for the students to ask questions and give a response. It’s a two way process of communication and learning. And that process can be fun. It’s the same way with talking to the Lord, He also wants to participate and give a response. Luke 5:16 KJV And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed. There are also different times to pray. In the above scripture, Jesus withdrew from the crowds so that He could have fellowship with the Father. Quiet time alone in prayer is a wonderful and strengthening place to be. Sometimes when I am going to sleep I feel very passionate about what I am praying. I whisper my prayers very intensely. I may be praying through groans and tears, and it is almost totally quiet. Sometimes in bed, I just think my prayers in hopes that the Lord will respond to me back in same fashion. Most often, I pray outside that quiet time. If I have something on my mind, I don’t wait for the “prayer closet” opportunity to say it. My prayers are more like a conversation with Him. It doesn’t matter where I am, I just say it. (I mostly pray in my mind, because I’m not that much of a natural talker.) Often when I say something to Him, He will say some small Word or phrase back to me that can open up an entire scope of His answer. The Lord is an expert at saying powerful and simple punch lines that open all kinds of cross references and common denominators to my mind. During the day, I may be speaking in tongues consistently, especially if I feel a heavy burden upon my soul or heart. Prayer meetings where all gather to speak in tongues is really powerful. Those times are always loud, powerful and dynamic when intercessors are all praying in tongues and in agreement as they rotate in taking the lead in English. The Lord’s Presence is strong and powerful. When I am by myself, most of the time I do not pray powerfully loud English prayers. I do pray out loud in tongues and English and receive some powerful breakthroughs, especially when I pray in the car or exercising with the music!! But when I am at home during the day, I pray mostly quiet prayers or silent communion prayers. Wayne and I always pray together every night before we sleep. We pray over our loved ones and burdens of the day. And often when we are reading the news or something that concerns us, we will pray together at that time. To say thank You to God brings climax to each gift He sends. 1 Thess 5:18-19 NKJV In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit. When we become good parents, we teach our children how to say thank you by saying thank you to them. We look for their good gifts, qualities and expressions and remember to tell them thank you. We learn how God feels when our kids reciprocate with joy and relationship in regards to our gifts. Matt 7:11-12 NKJV If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! Often when I come to Him I start listing all the things I am thankful for, regarding Who He is to me. I become so refreshed by just the rehearsal of His wonderful qualities and gifts as His Presence sweeps over my gratefulness with His own thank yous. Psalms 100:1-4 Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all you lands. 2 Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. 3 Know you that the LORD he is God: it is he that has made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. 4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. Notice in the above we use our mouths. Scripture says that our mouth is a DOOR. (That is quite a revelation when we begin to apply that in all areas of our lives.) Psalms 141:3 Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips. The Lord chooses to sit down and dwell, remain, abide and marry the praises of His people! Sometimes I turn on worship music that focuses on loving Him and then I sing to Him and use my hands to worship Him as though they are dancing. I can do this in my chair and my bed and feel His Presence in such a warm melting way as I invite the Holy Spirit to come. Psalms 22:3 But you are holy, O you that inhabit {3427} the praises of Israel. INHABIT Strong's Hebrew Dictionary 3427. yashab Search for H3427 in KJVSL yashab yaw-shab' a primitive root; properly, to sit down (specifically as judge. in ambush, in quiet); by implication, to dwell, to remain; causatively, to settle, to marry:— (make to) abide(-ing), continue, (cause to, make to) dwell(-ing), ease self, endure, establish, X fail, habitation, haunt, (make to) inhabit(-ant), make to keep (house), lurking, X marry(-ing), (bring again to) place, remain, return, seat, set(- tle), (down-)sit(-down, still, -ting down, -ting (place) -uate), take, tarry. WHEN YOU PRAISE AT YOUR WAILING WALL Beloved one, it is My will that in every area of your life, you learn to rejoice and be thankful. When you turn your heart, mind, emotions off your miseries and love Me, you have no idea how that confounds your enemies. I know your deepest wailings and agony and it blesses Me with such honor when you choose to thank Me; trusting in My goodness, My justice and My Sovereignty as I encourage you to overcome and place all evil beneath your feet. Dear one, when you suffer and yet thank Me and praise Me, it honors Me before all enemies. For it proves and manifests in heaven and hell that love is stronger than death. It declares to all that good triumphs over evil. When you call upon My Name and declare Me worthy to be praised, there you shall be saved from your enemies. 1 Thess 5:18 AMP Thank [God] in everything [no matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks], for this is the will of God for you [who are] in Christ Jesus [the Revealer and Mediator of that will]. 2 Sam 22:4 NKJV I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words from the The Quickened Word are excerpts from the journals of Sandy Warner. It is like a cow chewing her cud. In the digestion process, she brings the food back up and re-chews. We meditate when we bring Him back into memory and ponder — thinking about Him, His Words and His works. Psalms 63:5-6 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise you with joyful lips: 6 When I remember you upon my bed, and meditate on you in the night watches. Psalms 77:12 I will meditate also on all your work, and talk of your doings. Psalms 1:2 But his delight [is] in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. Notice in the three verses above, it says: 1. We meditate upon Him 2. We meditate upon His Works 3. We meditate upon His Word MEDITATE UPON HIM Because Jesus is our door to enter into fellowship, we think about HIM. There are so many wonderful ways to ponder Him! We remember Who He is, we appreciate His character and attributes. We consider how these special attributes affects our lives. We search them out and even ask questions. As we think about Him, we are drawing near to Him. As we think WITH Him about these things, He draws near to us. James 4:8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Ponder the meanings of His Names Ponder His Attributes and Who He is Imagine His goodness recorded 699 times in scripture Remember what Jesus did for you at the cross Know Who the Holy Spirit is I have noticed many times, during a quiet moment as I remember His Words, that His Holy Spirit is very close and enlightens things I have not seen before. (Revelation) He also brings other things to memory that I didn’t know applied and suddenly I realize they also fit. (Quickening) Quickening and Revelation are experiences with the Lord where we receive fellowship, realizing He is intervening into our time of meditation and bringing it alive with personal application. This happens more often if we INVITE the Holy Spirit into our thoughts and ponderings. We don't want to think ABOUT Him, we want to think WITH HIM. When we think WITH Him, it is with the Holy Spirit. Consider Who the Holy Spirit is and how He interacts with you in your life. MEDITATE UPON HIS WAYS Considering His ways is recalling the different experiences we have had in Him, where He has reached us personally. We can even imagine how He will reach us! He knows our hearts desires and hopes. We can ponder the ways He worked in the lives of Bible characters and learn from them as we consider their victories and their mistakes. We consider the many ways He speaks and how He quickens them with life. We wonder about the process of revelation and how He uncovers truth and we suddenly "see" something we did not see before. Consider the ways He has spoken to us Rehearse the ways He worked in Biblical lives Remember the amazing ways He has worked in our life One time while I was bowling I saw an unusual thing happen to my ball. The ball was caught in the pit, turning circles and spinning over and over. It was supposed to roll towards the spout and travel back to the chute where the bowler picks up the ball. I watched other balls come back, but not mine, it was still spinning its shocking pink halo around and around! As I was pondering this, my ball finally went into the spout, traveled back to me, and then did the same thing right at the chute. Instead of popping out and rolling into the tray, it began to spin and spin a 2nd time. This was a good allegory of what it means to ponder, meditate, study, rehearse, imagine, reflect, chew and mull over and over His amazing ways. Even if we are on the move and going somewhere, there is always room to stop and circle around something that is quickened to us. As we learn to become sensitive to what He is quickening with His Spirit or Presence, then we can stop, ponder and listen to what He has to say about that. MEDITATE UPON SCRIPTURE It is good to read the Bible through and remember what is says. However it is much deeper to to study the Bible. Remember that one of the Hebrew definitions of the word meditate means STUDY. Scripture says that His Words are an entrance. When we still ourselves and meditate on His Word, it opens a doorway to new revelations of knowing Him. The scriptures are inspired by the God's Spirit and He has given us a huge manual of what He has spoken throughout history and what He speaks to us today. God does not change, He is the same today, yesterday and forever and we can trust Him to breathe life upon His Word and help us apply it to our personal life. He will use His Word to shed light upon issues we need to understand about Him and about ourselves. Psalms 119:130 The entrance of your words gives light; it gives understanding unto the simple. Study scripture and apply it to our own life Use the Strong's Concordance to look up Hebrew and Greek words Apply the Law of 1st mention to the Hebrew or Greek word Apply the Types and Examples to your own life Read scripture as a prayer, ask the Holy Spirit's help to search your heart and draw attention to what you need. Ask Him to reveal new things in the Word that you did not know before. Ask Him to quicken answers to your prayers, that you had not realized before. Ask His help to recall and remember scripture, and hide it in your heart. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words from the The Quickened Word are excerpts from the journals of Sandy Warner. Psalms 77:6 I call to remembrance my song in the night: I commune with my own heart: and my spirit made diligent search. Scripture is full of communing with God while we are in bed, or in a resting position. Stillness is important when first learning to hear the Lord and becoming sensitive to hear Him when He speaks. More often than not, our heart needs to be very quiet when we are receiving something from the Lord. Our struggles with emotion, mind and body need to be put to naught while His Presence melts the cares of this world. The paces and forces of today’s world can rob one from being in that place of reception. Fear, anxiety, pain, tiredness, worry, tension, distractions, etc. are all enemies of that quiet and peaceful place. Noise and stillness dwell within the heart. They are the places within us that determine our level of distraction or our level of quietness. Most can identify thought distractions by closing their eyes and thinking about the Lord. They soon discover their thoughts have wandered far away. The content of those thoughts is the “noise” in our life. Stillness is a place of complete rest in Him, garrisoned by His peace. There are no conflicts or struggles in being still before Him. LAYING DOWN TO HEAR THE LORD Notice in the following scripture, Samuel was lying down to sleep, but he wasn’t asleep yet. 1 Samuel 3:3 And before the lamp of God went out in the temple of the LORD, where the ark of God was, and Samuel was lying down to sleep; There is a place in the spirit realm which is just after waking or just before sleeping that we are most able to hear. This is when the voices of the world and our soul ties to the cares of life are forgotten and dont have a grip on u. As one gets acclimatized to that place, they can enter there anytime even when sitting in a chair wide awake, but this is an established discipline where one learns how to be still before the Lord and go into a deep rest. Being in bed and resting before Him is a scriptural way to find communion with Him. Often I will retire during the day just to quiet myself to listen. The rest I enter into, is like preparing to take a nap… letting go and shutting down the cares of the day and entering into Jesus’ world. I may only lay down for 10 – 30 minutes, maybe 1+ hour during the day. It all depends upon my level of need for Him, level of distraction and ability to let go of the world. (cares of life) “ Be still, and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10 KJ) Hebrews 4:9-12 There remains therefore a rest to the people of God. 10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also has ceased from his own works, as God did from his. 11 Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. 12 For the word of God is living, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Psalms 4:4 Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah. Psalms 42:8 Yet the LORD will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life. Psalms 119:147-148 I rose before the dawning of the morning, and cried: I hoped in your word. 148 My eyes awake before the night watches, that I might meditate in your word. Job 4:12-13 Now a thing was secretly brought to me, and my ear received a whisper of it. 13 In thoughts from the visions of the night, when deep sleep falls on men, Job 33:14-16 For God speaks once, yea twice, yet man perceives it not. 15 In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls upon men, in slumberings upon the bed; 16 Then he opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction. WASHING: MY PROCESS OF HEARING In the OT the priests washed in preparation to enter into the Holy Place. When I lay down to hear the Lord I do certain things to be washed and ready to listen. 1) CONFESSION OF SINS I confess my sins of that day that did not line up with His Word and choose to repent. (change) These sins are mouth, thoughts, motives. I have learned to keep a very short list if I want to walk in intimacy with the Lord. The Holy Spirit is very easily grieved and quenched. I was listening to Joyce Meyers and she showed people how she took communion. She actually did her real communion before everyone, not just a drama or talking about it. It was like ALL the veils fell from her voice, face, heart as she partook, that it was a very intimate time and I felt a holy hush. Then at one sentence, there was a divine pause in her voice, and I began to gently cry as I was so grateful for the Lord forgiving my sins! The grateful tears was a break though moment for me that I did not know I needed. I felt SO clean afterwards, kind of like my gentle tears were a spring rain that washes the dust off the earth and everything smells so good and fresh after that. This melted the weight off my soul and brought me to the Lord! 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 2 Corinthians 3:15-17 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the veil is upon their hearts. 16 Nevertheless when one shall turn to the Lord, the veil shall be taken away. 17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. The above verse is important to me, because sin is a veil and I don’t want veils between me and Him. The other might I lost my peace and didn’t sleep because I suddenly felt a separation from Him and I began repenting of everything I could think of! The Holy Spirit is very sensitive and is like a dove. He only roosts where there is peace and rest - He will depart if we have grieved Him. Sometimes we put Him in such a small place that we quench Him with our mouths, thoughts, choices. We are warned in scripture about the following: · Do not speak evil of the Holy Spirit · Do not resist the Holy Spirit · Do not grieve the Holy Spirit · Do not quench the Holy Spirit · Do not lie to the Holy Spirit · Do not strive with the Holy Spirit · Do not test the Holy Spirit Matthew 12:31 Because of this I say to you, all sin and evil speaking shall be forgiven to men, but the evil speaking of the Spirit shall not be forgiven to men. Acts 7:51 You stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, you do always resist the Holy Spirit: as your fathers did, so do you. Ephesians 4:30-31 And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you are sealed unto the day of redemption. 31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: 1 Thessalonians 5:19-23 Quench not the Spirit. 20 Despise not prophesying. 21 Test all things; hold fast that which is good. 22 Abstain from all appearance of evil. 23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Acts 5:3 But Peter said, Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit, and to keep back part of the price of the land? Genesis 6:3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be a hundred and twenty years. Acts 5:9 Then Peter said unto her, How is it that you have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them who have buried your husband are at the door, and shall carry you out. 2) CLEANSE THE PORTHOLES Sometimes our eyes, ears and soul gets slimed just by living in a tainted, sin riddled world. What we see with our literal eyes and hear with our literal ears in the world needs to be washed off, so that it doesn’t imprint to our soul. I offer my eyes, ears and soul to be cleansed the Word of God and the blood of Jesus. Science has studied our brains and how media use techniques through bombarding people’s eyes and ears in an attempt to “brain wash” them / indoctrinate them into another way of thinking. This is the demonic plot to conform us to the world. Romans 12:1-2 I call upon you, therefore, brethren, through the compassions of God, to present your bodies a sacrifice--living, sanctified, acceptable to God--your intelligent service; 2 and be not conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, for your proving what [is] the will of God--the good, and acceptable, and perfect. Matthew 16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? The Word of God washes us. After having confessed our sins, we can make a simple decree that the God of peace is sanctifying us wholly. Or we can choose other scriptures to wash us. Ephesians 5:26-27 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. 1 Thessalonians 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 3) CONSECRATE THE MIND, EYES AND EARS TO JESUS’ USE When I consecrate my mind, I am giving my thoughts to Him and asking for the mind of Christ. I dedicate my eye gates and ear gates to Him to use and speak to me. When we consecrate our mind, eyes and ears to Jesus, we are in a naked place, where we know He sees every bit of us without masks. He knows everything we have done to defile our minds, eyes and ears and we know He does. However when we look into the face of Jesus’ love for us, we are transformed, changed, fashioned into His image. We simply yield our minds (imaginations/ thoughts) eyes and ears to Him and give them to His ownership and use. 2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. 1 Corinthians 2:16 For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ. Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 4) BIND DEMONIC HINDRANCE I bind and resist all demons from my porthole and loose warring angels to stand guard over me as I rest in the Lord. I used to spend a lot of time binding demons and rebuking what I was seeing and hearing and I discovered 2 very strong keys that paved my holy highway: OBEDIENCE Proverbs 16:7 When a man's ways please the LORD, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him. James 4:7-8 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. He opened my eyes to see that in James 4 it is written in chronological order. First we submit, and THEN we resist the devil. So in the above list, binding demons went from being #1 on the list down to #4. My intimacy with the Lord, the faith it took to abide there, and the ease to enter in RADICALLY changed when I learned the key of obedience, confession and making very strong efforts to change my mouth, thoughts and motives so they were lining up with scripture and His image. 5) WELCOME THE HOLY SPIRIT AND RELEASE BURDENS It is impossible to hear the Lord without the Holy Spirit. If I were to choose only 2 things in the above list, I would choose confessing my sins / asking the Lord’s forgiveness and welcoming the Holy Spirit. As I welcome the Holy Spirit, I am thankful for all the things He does for me and then I might pray over any burdens I forgot to release to His care that day. The point of entering into the rest of God is laying down the day’s burdens. If I am still carrying the weight of something that bothered me that day, then I need to unload it first before being still. And then I am ready to hear from Him and I quiet myself. RESTING IN HIS KABOD – THE WEIGHTY GLORY OF THE LORD I have observed during church services where the worship starts out with bouncing music and people’s souls are activated and in tune to worship Him. Then I notice the songs become slower and more worshipful, and directed more TO Him instead of being about Him. People begin to slow down and get quieter. If the Spirit is there to hover, and if the musicians and leaders are in tune, they will have those divine pauses where they give the Spirit time to hover and people just soak in His Presence. When the glory of the Lord descends as in the kabod, it is a very heavy, weighty feeling where the limbs of the body just want to lay down or sit down and settle deeply and go into deep REST. People have spent themselves to get to that place. And when the kabod is there, people can go into this realm of the spirit very easy, just like one does right before waking or right after sleeping. 2 Chronicles 7:2 And the priests could not enter into the house of the LORD, because the glory {3519} of the LORD had filled the LORD'S house. Numbers 20:6 And Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly unto the door of the tabernacle of meeting, and they fell upon their faces: and the glory {3519} of the LORD appeared unto them. GLORY - WEIGHT Strong's Hebrew Dictionary 3519. kabowd kabowd kaw-bode' rarely kabod {kaw-bode'}; from 3513; properly, weight, but only figuratively in a good sense, splendor or copiousness:—glorious(-ly), glory, honour(-able). See Hebrew 3513 FROM 3513 Strong's Hebrew Dictionary 3513. kabad kabad kaw-bad' or kabed {kaw-bade'}; a primitive root; to be heavy, i.e. in a bad sense (burdensome, severe, dull) or in a good sense (numerous, rich, honorable; causatively, to make weighty (in the same two senses):—abounding with, more grievously afflict, boast, be chargeable, X be dim, glorify, be (make) glorious (things), glory, (very) great, be grievous, harden, be (make) heavy, be heavier, lay heavily, (bring to, come to, do, get, be had in) honour (self), (be) honourable (man), lade, X more be laid, make self many, nobles, prevail, promote (to honour), be rich, be (go) sore, stop. The realm of hearing in the spirit is a special part of our brains that are activated. Science has actually studied this part of the brain, and it is mostly inactive and latent except the last part of a night’s sleep, which is REM. (Rapid eye movement) They have done many studies on this and it is a part of the brain that comes alive when during REM. People who take drugs activate this part, which is why they have terrible hallucinations, as they have opened the demonic portholes to see and hear. I can vividly remember being thoroughly engrossed in getting the dishes done, getting out of the kitchen and on with life. I was completely goal oriented and set on getting them done quickly. While standing at the sink, in the midst of water and food splats, I would hear this little Voice say, “Come sit at My feet.” That was the last thing I wanted to do. He had touched an idol: ambition, goals, and MY time. An idol in the Old Testament was something erected in their lives in which they deemed so valuable that they gave it worship. In the New Testament, an idol is not necessarily given an outward worship, rather it’s an inward desire that conflicts with having fellowship with the Lord. It becomes more important to us than Him. My philosophy in life was, “Hurry up and work so I can hurry up and enjoy living!” This situation was a little complex because I did enjoy sitting at His feet! The way I pursued that philosophy was another matter. Was I willing to pursue Him, in HIS TIMING, and in HIS WAY? At first, the tug-of-war went back and forth. Of course, when I heard Him say this, it was only when I was in a dead-heat to get my goal accomplished. Or it might be when I had only one more thing to do. He pursued the issue until I was so yielded it didn’t matter if I ever did the dishes! “...a woman named Martha welcomed them into her home. Her sister sat on the floor, listening to Jesus as he talked. But Martha was the jittery type, and was worrying over the big dinner she was preparing... But the Lord said to her, Martha, dear friend you are so upset over all these details! There is really only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it — and I won’t take it away from her!” (Luke 10:38-42 TLB) It was not until later that I realized the second lesson He was teaching me. After that inner war ended over ownership of my time, I realized He was also retraining my basic philosophy: hurry up and work, so I can hurry up and have fun. Through a process of learning to be still like Mary at Jesus feet, I have now discovered the better way —sitting at His feet while doing the dishes! I finally understood His point was not only setting a time away from life to be with Him, but learning to be with Him as I lived my day. I found that the joy in life is having a relationship with Him in the process. Hearing Him is a stopping place in all of living; stopping what we are doing, whether spirit, mind and soul, or body, to recognize HIM. We live in the rush-rush of a busy world. It is so easy for our personalities to get caught up in the race. We can be educated in all the places to pause and hear Him, but forget to do so. When we ask for help, the Holy Spirit will retrain our daily habits to include stopping places to hear Him, for He is our Teacher. 1 John 2:26-27 NKJV These things I have written to you concerning those who try to deceive you. But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him. Even though we remember to pause and include Him in what we are doing, it doesn’t mean He will speak. However, if we take the time to pause because we desire Him, He may very well answer. Whether He has anything He wants to say, He loves our fellowship and wants to respond to us. It takes two to have a relationship: one who speaks, and one who listens. One day on errands, I caught the tail end of a sermon on the radio. He was asking, “How much time do you spend alone with God every week? — Not with someone praying, or things like that, but just honest intimate one on One?” He talked about how we can’t expect the Lord to be intimate with us, if we do not give Him time. When I arrived home our cat, Cuddles, saw me coming. (We called her that because she loved to be loved!) She jumped up on the little table outside, expectantly waiting for me to come love her. (I trained her to know that she would get a lot more loving if she jumped up to my level!) So there she was with perky little ears just waiting on the table. After I gave her attention, I went inside and around back to the patio door. She ran as fast as she could and jumped on the patio table! I laughed and loved her some more. Then I put water in her dish and emptied the garbage. When I came back, she was sitting up militant style facing directly towards me, ears up and at attention very expectantly waiting for me to pass her way again! It was so precious. I could see the allegory plain as day; you can’t help but love someone and give them extra attention when they are just sitting there waiting for you! And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. (Rev 12:11 NKJV) The quickest way to hear the Lord speak, is to totally surrender your life to Jesus Christ. Give Him everything you are, everything you want, everything you have, everything you pursue, everyone you love, every part of who you are: BODY, SOUL AND SPIRIT. Surrendering to God is trusting that He is your Good, loving Heavenly Father Who brings everything together for good. It is trusting that even if all you give up is tested and tried by the enemy, that the Lord said yes for His good purpose. It is trusting Him that even in death, His good purpose reigns. It is trusting that in every death, there is multiplied life. Many strongholds fall by the wayside when you are in total surrender to the Lord. This takes away veils that keep you from hearing Him in the many ways He speaks. 2 Cor 3:16-18 NLT But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, then the veil is taken away. Now, the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, he gives freedom. And all of us have had that veil removed so that we can be mirrors that brightly reflect the glory of the Lord. And as the Spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more like him and reflect his glory even more. The various aspects in this lesson are about how to surrender to God. This character trait is important in hearing God speak to you. It is about having a heart that bows low to listen to the One you love. It is giving Him first place and giving honor to His voice in your life. When you are surrendered, yielded, letting Him lead, and no longer striving with Him, something precious begins to form within you. It is the nature of Jesus Christ, Who did nothing of Himself. He only did what He heard and saw His beloved Father doing. John 5:19-20 NKJV Then Jesus answered and said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner. For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel. HE SPEAKS WHEN WE LET HIM LEAD Rom 8:14 NKJV For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. I have a pastor friend who saw a wet spaghetti noodle and a large hand come down and push it across some glass. The noodle only piled up instead of moving forward. Then he heard the Lord say, “My people are like wet noodles, you just can’t push them. You have to draw them.” Then he saw the same hand take hold of the noodle and pull it. The noodle became straight again. God uses our personalities to lead us. When it comes to our making a decision, He initiates it, draws us, gets our attention, then says, “It’s yours, you decide!” The Lord is not a controller. He does not force us to do something we do not want to do. He leaves the decision of whether we will follow, up to us. He wants our personalities, our own heart, to want what He wants. That’s why He draws us, He does not want to push or control us into doing what’s right. SUCH A GREAT COST TO GIVE FREE WILL God made Adam free and give him a voice He laid down His power to grant free choice. God walked with Adam and gave him access Talking, sharing, waiting for Adam’s “yes.” Through His great power, by force He could take. With His great love, He yielded for their sake. In the garden, He would not interfere. He gave free choice for willing volunteers. Through out these years of mankind’s history God’s heart travails an enflamed mystery. He pursues our lives with such passionate love. Yet waits for entrance as the gentle Dove. Bowing His ear low, He’s so sensitive Hearing our desires, if we’re receptive. He yearns as He waits for our permission. With circled groaning for our decision. His intense love is constrained persuasion Lest He overtake us by invasion. With great restraint He will not use His force To rule our life with pressuring coerce. God knows the cost of honoring free will Continued this day, He suffers it still. One third of His creatures fell to the earth Refused His love, dishonored what he birthed. He may seek us and be inquisitive. But only wants what were willing to give. He makes sure we really know He is there. So we will receive what He has to share. He suffers long, through wavering so-so’s. Til He’s convinced that we really mean no. God’s deepest travail is that He does wait For mutual desire to relate. John 17:21 NKJV ... that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us... HE SPEAKS WHEN WE YIELD “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain. He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.” (John 12:24-26 NKJV) I received an insight about God’s multiplication factor while looking at some scriptures. The Bible says, “For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.” (Romans 8:29 NKJV) That means that our destination is to become like Jesus. And Jesus’ destination before His resurrection was death to His own will by yielding His life to the Father’s will. Jesus said the only way a plant lives forever is to continue to produce fruit. The way it produces fruit is for the grown plant to die after harvest, and allow its seeds to be planted back into the ground. The single seed, and thus the plant, is multiplied many times over. He said, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.” (Luke 9:23-24 NKJV) This kind of death to self is a decision to yield our own personal desire over a circumstance and say, “Lord, if this is Your will, then I accept that You know best.” “Not my will, but thine be done.” (Luke 22:42) This is a painful place to be, but it has glorious rewards of a multiplied life. Jesus chose to yield His own will and lay His life down as a righteous seed for the sake of multiplying that seed to all who would believe on Him. His death multiplied righteousness for an entire world. The Bible says that only the Father brings forth the multiplied life: “I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor. For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field.” (1 Corinthians 3:6-9 NASB) The Father chose that Jesus’ physical death would be increased beyond the grave, by bearing the fruit of eternal salvation for anyone who would partake of that fruit. Like Jesus, when we go through death to self, the Father chooses what fruit our yieldedness will produce. Every person is different, therefore every person will have a different harvest of the fruit of their decisions. Not everyone who is a Christian will go through death to self-will. The fact is, we can be as close to God as we want to be. “And He was saying to them, take care what you listen to. By your standard of measure it shall be measured to you.” (Mark 4:24 NASB) “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” (James 4:8 NASB) Because we have a choice, death to self will not be chosen by everyone. But those who want God above everything else are willing to follow Jesus Christ even to the cross. As a result, those people will hear God on earth, in the greatest measure available to mankind. BEYOND THE GRAVE When you’re persecuted for My sake Remember My tomb after the wake. When you’re betrayed, forgotten, denied I raise up all that was crucified. Whatever you have lost, give to Me. Wherever you have died, I’ll set you free. I count every tear, I measure your groans I feel your heartache over what you owned. When you count all things but for lost Forsaking all, having paid the cost… Knowing My sufferings were not in vain My power is in you, past the pain. Collect now My multiplied benefit Only if you’ve yielded all that was ripped. Disappointed in yourself, men and Me. Release, forgive, and set it all free. The time is NOW to hope and believe Rise up and fly away from the sieve. Threshed, sifted and yielded you fell through. Now watch and see what I do with you. The pieces of your life where you were rent, I will piece together and I will mend. Your tapestry will be a gem mosaic Of all you’ve been through for My sake. Yes you have suffered because you love Me. With passion I repay what you have spent on My tree. I bring balance to the scales of justice I repay good for evil, with interest plus. I want you healed, no longer broken You are My banner, My holy token. Be My light, bear good news that I redeem. I AM not Who the devil makes Me seem. I will empower it all, as you share your story I will heal and make well, for My glory. Look past your past and beyond the grave The Lord Jesus Christ is here to save. John 11:25-26 NKJV Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?" Phil 3:7-11 NKJV But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection , and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead. WHAT IT MEANS TO SURRENDER AND LET GO “If you love something, you will set it free. If it comes back to you, it was meant to be.” As I was thinking about the parable of what it means to surrender to God and let go, I saw a vision of an open palm with a tiny bird sitting there. Love is letting go and honoring someone enough to give them free will. That is what we to do with God when we surrender to His will. And that is what God does with us in giving us free will. A friend sent me a vision: "I saw a bird, and it flew back a bit to a tree where it felt safe and continued talking, though more relaxed. I listened, could not understand, and asked the Lord to tell me what the bird was saying. Then I saw myself holding a small bird in my hands. The bird was not afraid. It wanted to be with me and the bird knew it was safe there. I knew how fragile the bird was and that I had the ability to crush the bird in my hands. I just sat there with this knowledge and quite content to leave my hands open so it could fly away and return as it desired. The bird is not mine; it is the Lord’s. I must be careful to remember that.” “There are 2 lasting gifts we can give our children. One is roots the other is wings.” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words from the The Quickened Word are excerpts from the journals of Sandy Warner. Shall the clay say to Him who forms it, What are you making?...The Lord spoke to Job: “Shall he that contends with the Almighty instruct him? He that reproves God, let him answer it.” One classic phrase quoted so often from Job: Job said “Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.” The word maintain in Job 13:15 = Reprove: to be right, argue, decide, justify, defend, rebuke, etc. [3198 Heb Strong’s] Rom 9:19-21 NKJV You will say to me then, "Why does He still find fault? For who has resisted His will?" But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed say to him who formed it, "Why have you made me like this?" Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honor and another for dishonor? Isa 45:9 NKJV "Woe to him who strives with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth! Shall the clay say to him who forms it, 'What are you making?' Or shall your handiwork say, 'He has no hands'? Job 40:1-2 NKJV Moreover the LORD answered Job, and said: "Shall the one who contends with the Almighty correct Him? He who rebukes God, let him answer it." I read a testimony of a gal who received visions and talked to the Lord face to face. The way she came into His Presence was through worship. I really wanted to talk to Him face to face! I thought if she can do it, so can I. So I tried. And I tried again. Nothing. I tried harder. Still nothing. Then I launched a campaign and decided to stay up all night if I had to, worshipping Him and seeking Him. I was very tired, and still I kept on. Finally exhaustion set in, I gave up and went to bed. That night I received a vision. This is what I saw! A vision of me trying to jump to heaven. The Lord said nothing to coincide with the vision. He didn’t have to. I figured it out all by myself. Heaven’s too far to jump. When I heard the voice of the Lord for the first time, it was such an eventful milestone in my life, in analyzing it later, I thought that my hoarse voice and the exhaustion made a difference. After all, what else could it be, since He had never spoken to me before? In truth, I wasn’t striving with Him at all, I was just thoroughly caught up in Him, and enjoying His Presence for hours. Without my noticing, I became tired and lost my voice. However, if I’d had a purpose in the worship, song and prayer, in which I went on and on, and on and on, (you know what I mean) for a specific reason, how do you think it would make Him feel? Think how you’d feel if someone wanted something from you, and wouldn’t let up until you said yes! That is striving. There is a place for persistence. But it is not meant to be with the attitude of butting our heads against Him. [A Pastor friend said something cute in a sermon: the difference between a sheep and a goat is that the goat is always saying, “but, but, but.”] Demanding Him to give answers and guidance is an example of striving. Our attitude needs to be humble, yielded and willing when we approach Him. The lust for knowledge is a wrong motive for seeking answers from Him. It is commonly manifested by pushiness - a push and drive to zealously gain answers. He desires us to pursue Him, but not for the wrong motive. We do not have the rights, arguments, decisions, or justifications to demand God to answer. In seeking His guidance, we cannot demand understanding, we can merely ask. When we strive with God for any reason, we EXPECT Him to act a certain way, and do not give Him room to be Himself. May we yield our wills and let go of our striving. If we love Him, we will yield and give Him space to make His own choices. Job is a perfect example of striving with God. In standing against his enemies, he insisted on maintaining his belief system. He insisted he was right, argued, decided, justified, and defended his stand. Yet even though Job’s belief system was accurate about Him, when the trial was over God rebuked Job for maintaining his own way before Him. (Job 13:15) What does that mean? Job’s belief system did not allow God to have freedom of choice. God said He was God, and could do anything. Job did not understand why he was being tried when he knew his belief system was accurate. Job’s downfall was his expectations of God - he did not give God room to be Himself and freely choose His own will. In having a relationship with Him, we need to be willing to let God be God, and choose the way He desires His Word to be applied. This is especially true in waiting for His promises. We strive against God when we inaccurately hold His promise — for instance, having a written note of promise from someone, going before him and demanding he perform, because he gave us the note. I have seen many who have continued to strive against God about His Word and how it should apply in their lives. I have watched them go around the same track for years, simply because they refused to release their will to His plan. The way we can hear more from the Lord and have a living joyful relationship with Him is to let go of our striving expectations and let Him be God. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words from the The Quickened Word are excerpts from the journals of Sandy Warner. I will put some wool on the threshing floor tonight. If the fleece is wet with dew in the morning but the ground is dry, then I will know that you are going to help me rescue Israel as you promised." And it happened just that way. When Gideon got up the next morning, he squeezed the fleece and wrung out a whole bowlful of water. Then Gideon said to God, "Please don't be angry with me, but let me make one more request. This time let the fleece remain dry while the ground around it is wet with dew." So that night God did as Gideon asked. The fleece was dry in the morning, but the ground was covered with dew. Using a fleece is a comforting way to please the soul and personality, but it is not recommended as a pattern of relationship with the Lord. Most people use fleeces by stating a certain need for guidance: “Lord, if You do such n’ such, then I know I’m supposed to do such n’ such.” Notice the if-then clause. This clause suggests making a contract with God on YOUR TERMS. When a person lays a fleece before the Lord, he is putting God into a position to answer according to his way, not God’s. It is controlling the limits of circumstances and asking God to fit that mold. There are those who lust for signs. (The Pharisees wanted signs, rather than Jesus. They did not see HE WAS the sign.) People who look for signs are also vulnerable to falling into a snare. They are ones who lay fleeces before the Lord on a continuing basis. One satanic realm of influence is the lust for signs. God knows the heart, and may answer a fleece, as recorded in Gideon’s plight. Notice the awe and respect of Gideon’s heart in approaching God in this manner. Placing the fleece before the Lord was with great caution as unto the fear and respect of the Lord: “And Gideon said unto God, Let not thine anger be hot against me, and I will speak but this once: let me prove, I pray thee, but this once with the fleece, let it now be dry only upon the fleece and upon all the ground let there be dew.” (Judges 6:39-40 KJ) The fleece was a request to God, and God answered as His gift. This was not without consequences. God wanted Gideon’s army cut down to 300 men. It was not that God was angry so Gideon had to make up for the use of the fleece by cutting his army; but that the fleece and answer were very much like a contract. Gideon suggested a contract on Gideon’s terms. God answered. Then God gave Gideon God’s terms: 300 men. The scriptures suggest God is reasonable, listens to the will of man, and is willing to be flexible and work with him. He is our Good Father. However, we should not test Him to see how far He is willing to bend. This whole concept is something to be approached with reverence, respect and awe. He’s not Someone to bargain with in the market place. Those who use fleeces on a regular basis are asking for trouble. Fleeces suggests a flexible part of God’s nature, but when we draw the line of flexibility it is best WE BE THE FLEXIBLE ONE. If one has the wrong motive: a lust for signs, lust for knowledge, demanding (striving with) or testing and proving Him, one day the Lord will thresh out that leaven in the heart through a sifting process. There is one other reason God would cut this weed out. There are people who have been accustomed to using fleeces with a pure desire to find out His will. He knows the heart, and perhaps will even answer for a season on their terms. Yet there will come a day when He wants them to grow and come out of this type of relationship with Him. Fleeces put God in a box, He is not cheerfully willing to stay there for very long! There are many of ways to hear from Him without putting Him in a box. He desires to bring His own up and out, seeking Him on His territory. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words from the The Quickened Word are excerpts from the journals of Sandy Warner. They are talkers and not listeners. Rarely asking for counsel or advice, their independence and self-absorption becomes their worst downfall. The Lord wants us to stand on our own two feet and learn to make decisions. However, there are certain major decisions we should never make without the counsel of at least two responsible, godly, people who know us and whom we trust. Why? Because inevitably, we are blind and not able to see our weaknesses but in most instances, they will be able to see our needs and yet still look at the facts. The major decisions needing counsel are marriage, changing locations in jobs, life after high school graduation, financial investments, etc. The second reason why counsel is so important, is for the safety of those we love. “Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counselors there is safety.” (Proverbs 11:14 KJ) These major decisions most often directly affect those closest to us, and if we make the wrong decision, they suffer with us. There is a penalty for making wrong decisions and it may or may not have anything to do with justice, or the Lord’s rebuke. The greater the decision, the greater the ramifications. Often these outcomes have lasting effects that have lifetime results. Think it through, pray it through, counsel it through, wait it through. Again, give God time. Leave no step out when seeking His guidance. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words from the The Quickened Word are excerpts from the journals of Sandy Warner. This is a 2 way reciprocation when He knocks on doors into our lives and we open up to Him and He comes in to us. We are promised green pasture and good eats. John 10:9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hears my voice, and opens the door, I will come in to him, and will eat with him, and he with me. John 10:2-4 But he that enters in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 To him the gatekeeper opens; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out. 4 And when he puts forth his own sheep, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. HEARD: He must increase, I must decrease. The mystery. My life is hid in Christ. Dying daily. Hammer it in. It’s not about who you are, it’s about Who I AM in you. John 3:30 He must increase, but I must decrease. 1 Corinthians 15:31 I protest by your boasting which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily. There is a precious mystery that Paul speaks of. When you track the individual scriptures that mention this mystery, it is all connected with becoming One with Him like in a marriage relationship. Paul calls it being hidden in Him. This mystery is about having fellowship partnership, communion with the Lord. Ephesians 3:9 And to make all [men] see what [is] the fellowship {2842} of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: Strong's Greek Dictionary 2842. κοινωνια koinonia Search for G2842 in KJVSL κοινωνια koinonia koy-nohn-ee'-ah from 2844; partnership, i.e. (literally) participation, or (social) intercourse, or (pecuniary) benefaction:—(to) communicate(-ation), communion, (contri)distribution, fellowship. See Greek 2844 Luk 17:21 Nor will people say, Look! Here [it is]! or, See, [it is] there! For behold, the kingdom of God is within you [in your hearts] and among you [surrounding you]. Luk 17:20-21 Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, " The kingdom of God does not come with observation; 21 nor will they say, ' See here! ' or ' See there! ' For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you." This hidden mystery is about Jesus Christ living inside of us. It is being one with and partnering with the Lord just like a husband and wife. Colossians 1:26-27 Even the mystery which has been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: 27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Ephesians 5:30-32 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. 32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. The only way this one-ness happens is going through death to self. This hidden mystery is a resurrected life after having gone through death to self. It is a life of being hidden with Christ in God. We died and our life is hidden in God. We let go of the evil passions, love of the world, etc. Colossians 3:1-5 If you then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sits on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For you are dead, and your life is hid {2928} with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall you also appear with him in glory. 5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry: TO BE HIDDEN Strong's Greek Dictionary 2928. κρυπτω krupto Search for G2928 in KJVSL κρυπτω krupto kroop'-to a primary verb; to conceal (properly, by covering):—hide (self), keep secret, secret(-ly). Hebrews 11:23 By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid {2928} three months by his parents, because they saw he was a beautiful child; and they were not afraid of the king's commandment. When I ponder the Word picture of being hidden in Christ, I had the impression of a cloud cover moving in over a region, where those above the cover cannot see down through the clouds. Anyone who is has flown in an airplane understands what that looks like. And then I thought about living in His cloud, you breathe Him in and dwell in Him and He dwells in you. We are refreshed and hidden from the heat. Isaiah 4:5-6 And the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a covering. 6 And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a shelter from storm and from rain. PROMISES WHEN WE ARE HIDDEN We have scriptural promises of what takes place when we are dwelling in His hidden secret place. 1. We will behold the beauty of the Lord in the time of trouble. 2. We will be the head and not the tail over our enemies. 3. We shall dwell in His midst with joy and singing. Psalms 27:4-6 One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple. 5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret place of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. 6 And now shall my head be lifted up above my enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD. He is our hiding place and shield. We are given hope. Psalms 119:114 You are my hiding place and my shield: I hope in your word. 5. We will be shut in and protected from the indignation. Isaiah 26:20 Come, my people, enter you into your chambers, and shut your doors about you: hide yourself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation is past. 6. We will be hidden from the plots of the wicked. Psalms 64:2 Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity: 7. We will abide under His shadow. 8. We will not be afraid of terror, missiles, pestilence or destruction. 14. These shall not come near us. 15. His angels will be given charge over us to keep us and bear us up. 16. We shall trample serpents under our feet. 17. When we call upon the Lord He will answer. 18. He will be with us in trouble. 19. He will deliver us, honor us and satisfy us with long life and be shown His salvation. Psalms 91:1-16 He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. 3 Surely he shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence. 4 He shall cover you with his feathers, and under his wings shall you trust: his truth shall be your shield and buckler. 5 You shall not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flies by day; 6 Nor for the pestilence that walks in darkness; nor for the destruction that wastes at noonday. 7 A thousand shall fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you. 8 Only with your eyes shall you behold and see the reward of the wicked. 9 Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge, even the most High, your habitation; 10 There shall no evil befall you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling. 11 For he shall give his angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. 12 They shall bear you up in their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone. 13 You shall tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the serpent shall you trample under feet. 14 Because he has set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he has known my name. 15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him. 16 With long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation. PRAYER: Lord lead is through Your door of one-ness, of being hidden in You! What intimate pleasure awaits us who enter into Your chambers oh Lord. Let us know the joy of abiding under Your shadow, where we are not afraid in times of trouble, because You deliver us, answer us, honor us and satisfy us with Your salvation. Turn on your speakers and turn the volume up past mute.} TAKE NO SHORTCUTS INTO THE SUPERNATURAL Yesterday as I was doing errands I heard the Lord say, “THERE ARE NO SHORT CUTS.” We are living in a time where people’s appetites to know and experience the supernatural are rapidly growing. There are no short cuts to learning about these doors. Jesus said there is ONLY ONE DOOR TO THE FATHER, and that is through Jesus Himself. Any media or person that does not lift up Jesus as God’s only way into His supernatural truth has missed the mark. John 10:1-4 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that enters not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. 2 But he that enters in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 To him the gatekeeper opens; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out. 4 And when he puts forth his own sheep, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. Those that believe that Jesus is the Son of God have been given the Holy Spirit which guides us to truth. And the Holy Spirit always points to Jesus as our door to enter into knowing God’s voice. John 14:6 Jesus said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me. John 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it sees him not, neither knows him: but you know him; for he dwells with you, and shall be in you. John 15:26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he shall testify of me: John 16:13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come. John 17:17 Sanctify them through your truth: your word is truth. When we are seeking to be taught and learn things, sometimes we forget that the Holy Spirit wants to have fellowship with us in everything we do. We do not want our lives to operate independently from fellowship with Him. When we are reading a book, or watching a movie or listening to someone share, we need to always ask, “Would Jesus read this book, play this game, watch this movie, or listen to this person?” Ask yourself, “Am I feeling the Presence of the Lord as I am participating in this? Do I feel He has withdrawn? Do I have His peace right now?” We should never separate learning and entertainment from having fellowship with the Lord. He wants to abide with us and us to abide and cling to Him in everything we do. This doesn’t mean we keep our eyes shut to what is going around us as we can learn Wisdom through observation. However there is only one Truth, one Source of Truth and one door to Truth. Jesus is the ONLY way to get to the Father, and His truth through His Word and His Spirit guides us there. Truth is not something learned through education. Knowledge helps, but it cannot be independent from the Holy Spirit… otherwise it is eating from the wrong tree. Genesis 2:16-17 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat: 17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat of it: for in the day that you eat thereof you shall surely die. CLOSING THE DOORS TO THE DEMONIC WORD TO PONDER: THERE ARE NO SHORT CUTS INTO MY SUPERNATURAL Beloved children, let go of the mixture in your lives. I allow no shortcuts in finding the doors into My supernatural experiences. As you repent and lay these activities down, I forgive you. You are very loved and I want to abide in you and with you. I promised to redeem everything together for good in your life as you bring them to Me and allow Me to do so. This is an important lesson to never separate My Presence from your life. As you soak in My Presence, I will draw you closer and closer in fellowship. I long for you even as you search for Me. There are no short cuts, I AM and always will be your Door. Through Me, you have direct access to My hidden mysteries and the joys of a supernatural life. You are highly favored dear one and you only have to ask.” Psalms 91:14-15 Because he has set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he has known my name. 15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words from the The Quickened Word are excerpts from the journals of Sandy Warner. For forty years I was grieved with that generation, and said, 'It is a people who go astray in their hearts, and they do not know My ways.' So I swore in My wrath, 'They shall not enter My rest.'" Obedience is so very important when we are learning to hear God speak in so many wonderful ways. The more pure we live our lives according to scripture, the more pure our hearing will become. If we are disobedient, He can turn us over to sifting where we hear the enemy. He allows this as His most urgent and loving warning, so that we make a decision to live for Him. We certainly do not want to be given over to counterfeit hearing, and end up in hell. I have been in prayer rooms and known the sins of several, and then listened to them share their visions received in the room. Without a doubt they were counterfeit and they did not even know it. HE SPEAKS WHEN WE FOLLOW OUR CONSCIENCE Rom 2:15 AMP They show that the essential requirements of the Law are written in their hearts and are operating there, with which their consciences (sense of right and wrong) also bear witness; and their [moral] decisions (their arguments of reason, their condemning or approving thoughts) will accuse or perhaps defend and excuse [them] Greek word for Conscience: co-perception. From a word meaning to see completely, understand, become aware. [4893 Gk Strong’s from 4894 Gk Strong’s] Bears witness: testifies jointly, by corroborating evidence. [4828 Gk Strong’s] One day at a fast food restaurant there was a cup of coffee on our tray untouched. My husband asked me if I ordered it. I thought he had. I realized someone else must have ordered and paid for it, and it was placed on the wrong tray. I felt I should return it. This all took place within the few seconds it took to think the thought and identify truth. I promptly took the cup back and thought nothing else about it. That night I saw a vision of that coffee cup. Then I saw what looked like the ten commandments etched in stone, pulsating like a heart beat. (See above scripture) The Lord was telling me He was well pleased that I had followed my conscience. It was a simple thing for Him to be pleased about but He was training me to identify my conscience, and to be prompt to obey it. I had lived my Christian life, never really thinking much about my conscience. I had followed it (most of the time!) as a child, but I never placed a label on what it was or what it felt like, or acknowledged it as an important part of hearing God. The Lord took me through a season of learning to identify His heart call within my conscience. When we break the law He has placed upon our heart, our thoughts accuse or excuse, and our conscience bears witness that He has written His law upon our hearts. In other words our thoughts either charge us with some offense, or give a plea of defense when our behavior is accused. When our action (or reaction) is placed on trial our thoughts begin to accuse us. Once during this “conscience” season I bought a potted plant with the saucer. Running through the rain in the parking lot, I wondered if the saucer came with the plant. It was clear in color, different from the pot. I didn’t remember being charged for it. When I got to the car, I took out the receipt and there was no extra charge for the saucer. I struggled with my thoughts. I didn’t mind paying the money, I just didn’t want to brave the rain and the crowds. I wished I had realized the situation at the check stand. I could not live with the doubt on my conscience so I went back into the store. The lady said it came with the plant and I owed her nothing. I came home that day with a clear conscience to enjoy my plant with freedom of heart. Paul said, “And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offense toward God, and toward men.” (Acts 24:16 KJ) The Lord arranged an entire season of opportunities to help me identify that my conscience was perceiving truth, and that my thoughts were testifying to this as well. Months later, I received an extra pop on our tray and took it back. The woman at the counter said, “Oh that’s where it was! I knew I had poured it.” I smiled as I returned to my seat, remembering that season. I wondered if I was being tested, but then realized it was a confirmation. There was no wrestling, struggling, or tug-of-war with my thoughts and conscience. Somewhere in my walk with Him I had overcome. If the thought came that I was not lining up with truth I simply altered my course. There was no war inside because I was yielded to following my conscience. I trained my son to identify his conscience. From a very early age, when he would tell me he had spilled the milk, or had tracked dirt onto the rug, I would thank him for telling me the truth. Because it was an accident, and he didn’t try to cover it up, I was not upset. Even before he could pronounce the word conscience, I took the time to help him identify his feelings. I would ask him if he remembered how badly he just felt because he goofed, explaining that feeling was his conscience. And when he told me about his problem, it made his conscience feel much better, not only for being forgiven, but also for his confession. (Jeremiah 3:13) He would smile and go his merry way. Later in life when he approaches greater issues he will have been trained to identify his conscience, and enjoy the good feeling it brings to obey it. As an adult we can become more sensitive to our conscience if we take the time to STOP, PONDER, LISTEN to the struggles going on inside. When we follow our conscience, we are saying, “Yes God, I want to please You and follow You. I want to hear more from You.” Remember the verse that says, “Take heed what you hear. With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear, more will be given. For whoever has, to him more will be given; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.” (Mark 4:2425 NKJV) That means that we ourselves measure the amount we hear from the Lord. If we want to hear Him more, we need to be accountable with what He has given us, and He will increase our portion of hearing Him. HE SPEAKS WHEN WE MAKE HOLY CHOICES In the Old Testament, the temple was built in three sections. The outer court was where the common activities took place. The inner court was the place of service to the Lord. And the most Holy Place was the innermost place where the Lord spoke to the priest. It was an awesome area to enter. He needed to go through cleansing rites and make sure his life was in order before entering. It is said that he wore a rope around his belt, so that those on the outside could pull him out if needed, for fear of going in themselves. He also wore bells on his robe and those outside could hear that he was still alive and moving around. We have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ, and we are made holy not by our own righteousness, but because of His. However, when we live an unholy life, it is not a favorable environment for His Presence to dwell. Jesus ate with the unholy people, and loved them. And thus we too should reach out to all. However, enjoying the pleasures of carnality in the same way the world does, leads to a life conducive to inviting evil spirits instead of the Holy Spirit. If you want to hear more from the Lord, then take note of your life style. Today, fellowship with television carnality grieves the Holy Spirit and constricts His freedom in your life, especially in hearing Him in greater portions. A VERY GOOD CORRECTION: RUSSIAN ROULETTE One night my post came out about what we see and hear via TV and the doors of counterfeit. I try really hard to follow my conscience and make good choices. We get a service that blocks bad language, and bad channels and allows us to censor the ratings and content . (TiVo w/ Direct TV). The night before, I watched a show that had V for violence added even though the rating was low. It had a lot of special effects and fireball explosions. Then as soon as I went to sleep I saw several picture visions of guns and explosions and the Lord told me I was playing roulette with that kind of TV choice and He brought into memory the school shootings. I did not get to hear or see anything else from Him that night. I repented because I realized that violence is the very terrorism we are trying to close the door on in our nation. We have got to repent and make holy choices. I was really grateful for this correction from the Lord and this direct confirmation to the post. You want peace in your life? Turn off the violence. ANOTHER CORRECTION The following is a quote from John Paul Jackson’s ministry. This really impacted me and was a confirmation to many things I have heard that connect: QUOTE JOHN PAUL JACKSON: http://www.streamsministries.com/ John Paul was talking about the young shall see visions and the old shall dream dreams, based on Joel 2. Joel 2:28-29 NKJV And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions. And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days. A man asked John Paul if a child can talk to angels, based on Joel 2 and if so, how come this man’s 4 year son can see the angel but he can’t? John Paul told him that the next time he heard his son talking to the angel, to ask his son to ask the angel that question. So his wife had fixed dinner, he runs upstairs to get his 4 year old son and he walks into his room. His son is talking to this angel. He says, “Son are you talking to the angel again?” He said, “Yah Dad.” So he said, “Will you ask the angel why I can’t see him?” So the little boy listened and apparently the angel was talking to him. He said, “Dad the angel wants me to tell you the reason why you cant see him is because your eyes have beheld too much evil.” After the father regained his composure, he said, “Will you ask the angel if I ever will be able to see him?” The little boy asked the angel and he said, “Yah the angel wants me to tell you, Yes you will, but its going to take a while because the wounds to your soul are deep.” {end quote} This pretty much blew me away when I heard this. It reminded me of the following scriptures. 1 Chron 22:7-10 NKJV And David said to Solomon: "My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build a house to the name of the LORD my God; but the word of the LORD came to me, saying,’ You have shed much blood and have made great wars; you shall not build a house for My name, because you have shed much blood on the earth in My sight. Behold, a son shall be born to you, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies all around. His name shall be Solomon, for I will give peace and quietness to Israel in his days. He shall build a house for My name, and he shall be My son, and I will be his Father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.' 1 Kings 5:3 NKJV You know how my father David could not build a house for the name of the LORD his God because of the wars which were fought against him on every side, until the LORD put his foes under the soles of his feet. PRAYER OF REPENTANCE AND CONSECRATION Oh Lord have mercy upon our stubborn wills. Please forgive us where our eyes have fellowshipped with the “entertainment” of bloodshed and violence on TV. Lord please forgive us for making unholy choices and feeding from the cup of devils. We cry out for more of You but then go to jezebel for entertainment. Lord open our blind eyes to see with whom we are fellowshipping with and grant us the fortitude in our wills to close the doors and turn it OFF in Jesus Name. Grant us mercy and restore us as Your holy people, longing to be one with You, in Jesus Name. We choose to make a commitment to guard the windows of our soul from fellowshipping with violence. And we ask that You will remove the calluses from the wounds of our soul and grant us Your loving favor and grace to see holy visions in Jesus Name. We dedicate our eyes to You, Lord. May they be Your eyes, may we see what You see and may they be used for Your glory in Jesus Name. Please consecrate these eyes now in Your holy Name. Isa 33:15-16 NKJV Who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed , And shuts his eyes from seeing evil: He will dwell on high; His place of defense will be the fortress of rocks; Bread will be given him, His water will be sure. 1 Cor 10:21-22 NKJV You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the Lord's table and of the table of demons. 2 Chron 7:14-15 NKJV ...if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Heb 12:11-13 Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. Therefore strengthen the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees, and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed. Rom 5:19-21 NKJV For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man's obedience many will be made righteous. 20 Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more, 21 so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Gal 3:1-3 NKJV O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified? 2 This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? 3 Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh? Today I was considering the many passages of scripture about not having faith in following the law, but rather having faith in Jesus Who makes us righteous. For some reason, many people apply the law, faith and grace scriptures against various holiness doctrines within church culture. They use these scriptures as a weapon against the religious spirit. Using these scriptures does not make sense to me for two reasons: 1) The law spoken in the NT was always referring to the OT laws and ordinances. 2) The NT teaches obedience and the word is mentioned 46 times in the NT. What IS the Law? Who do we know in our churches who are practicing the OT laws in order to be saved, justified or declared righteous? I can’t think of anyone I know. In the places in the New Testament, when it is speaking about following the law, they were speaking to those raised in Judaism who literally did follow the law and ordinances of the Old Testament and were unable to place their faith in only the works of Jesus Christ to save them from their sins and make them righteous. In the places where the NT mentions the law, it is not talking about someone being justified by following the Christian culture of holiness. What Does the NT Scripture Say About Obedience? As I pondered this, I looked up the words obey, obedience and obedient in the NT. In these scriptures, it tells us: That Jesus, Who is our standard for righteous living was obedient to God even unto death. That we are to be obedient in our thoughts through obedience to Christ Jesus. That we are to be obedient against sin, lust & unrighteousness That we are to be obedient to the rhema Word of God, like the disciples who obeyed the angel’s command That we are to be obedient to leaders That we are to be obedient to the gospel That we are to be obedient in all things That we are to be obedient in our confession of the gospel JESUS, OUR STANDARD WAS OBEDIENT UNTO DEATH Phil 2:8-9 NKJV And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Heb 5:7-11 NKJV Who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear, 8 though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. 9 And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him, 10 called by God as High Priest "according to the order of Melchizedek," ======= OBEDIENCE OF OUR THOUGHTS 2 Cor 10:5-6 NKJV ...bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled. ======= BEING OBEDIENT AGAINST SIN, LUST & UNRIGHTEOUSNESS 1 Peter 1:16 NKJV Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 14 as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; 15 but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16 because it is written, "Be holy, for I am holy." Rom 2:5-11 NKJV But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, 6 who "will render to each one according to his deeds": 7 eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality; 8 but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness — indignation and wrath, 9 tribulation and anguish, on every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek; 10 but glory, honor, and peace to everyone who works what is good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 11 For there is no partiality with God. Rom 6:12-14 NKJV Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. 13 And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace. James 1:12-15 NKJV Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. 13 Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. 14 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. 15 Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is fullgrown, brings forth death. ======= OBEYING THE ANGELS WORD Acts 5:19-20 NKJV But at night an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors and brought them out, and said, 20 "Go, stand in the temple and speak to the people all the words of this life." Acts 5:27-32 NKJV And the high priest asked them, 28 saying,"Did we not strictly command you not to teach in this name? And look, you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this Man's blood on us!" 29 But Peter and the other apostles answered and said:"We ought to obey God rather than men. 30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus whom you murdered by hanging on a tree. 31 Him God has exalted to His right hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins. 32 And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him." ======= BEING OBEDIENT TO LEADERS 2 Thess 3:13-15 NKJV But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary in doing good. 14 And if anyone does not obey our word in this epistle, note that person and do not keep company with him, that he may be ashamed. 15 Yet do not count him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother. Heb 13:17 NKJV Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you. 1 Peter 3:1-2 NKJV Wives, likewise, be submissive to your own husbands, that even if some do not obey the word, they, without a word, may be won by the conduct of their wives, 2 when they observe your chaste conduct accompanied by fear. ======= OBEDIENCE TO GOSPEL 1 Peter 4:17-18 NKJV For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God? ======= TESTED FOR OBEDIENCE IN ALL THINGS 2 Cor 2:5-11 NKJV But if anyone has caused grief, he has not grieved me, but all of you to some extent — not to be too severe. 6 This punishment which was inflicted by the majority is sufficient for such a man, 7 so that, on the contrary, you ought rather to forgive and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one be swallowed up with too much sorrow. 8 Therefore I urge you to reaffirm your love to him. 9 For to this end I also wrote, that I might put you to the test, whether you are obedient in all things. 10 Now whom you forgive anything, I also forgive. For if indeed I have forgiven anything, I have forgiven that one for your sakes in the presence of Christ, 11 lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices. ======= OBEDIENCE OF YOUR CONFESSION OF THE GOSPEL 2 Cor 9:13-14 NKJV ...while, through the proof of this ministry, they glorify God for the obedience of your confession to the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal sharing with them and all men... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words from the The Quickened Word are excerpts from the journals of Sandy Warner. Just like the temple parable of approaching God in various degrees of closeness through the outer court, the inner court and the holy of holies... we have a choice of bearing 30, 60 or 100 fold fruit in our abiding closeness in Him. This scripture tells us HOW. Matt 13:3-9 NKJV Then He spoke many things to them in parables, saying: "Behold, a sower went out to sow. 4 And as he sowed, some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds came and devoured them. 5 Some fell on stony places, where they did not have much earth; and they immediately sprang up because they had no depth of earth. 6 But when the sun was up they were scorched, and because they had no root they withered away. 7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up and choked them. 8 But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundredfold, some sixty , some thirty . 9 He who has ears to hear, let him hear!" Matt 13:18-23 NKJV "Therefore hear the parable of the sower: 19 When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside. 20 But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; 21 yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles. 22 Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful. 23 But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty , some thirty ." WALKING IN THE RIGHT PATHWAY We need to learn how to walk in the ways of God. His ways are the right pathway of aligning our faith and choices with scripture. When we walk in the wayside, it is not walking directly in His path, rather it is in the general direction but with compromise and disobedience. Throughout the years, the closer I get to God, the more I understand that carnal choices really do affect my level of intimacy and relationship with Him. For instance if I watch something on TV that is defiled with the world’s standards and against scripture, instead of hearing from Him that night, I get to receive a slimy demonic dream instead. This clearly gives me feedback about my choices for intimacy. What door do I knock on when I turn on the TV and whom am I fellowshipping with? James 4:4-5 NKJV Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, "The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously"? REMOVING THE STUMBLING STONES Even when we are walking in God’s ways and living right, there will be stumbling stones in our path. It is impossible to get through the Christian life without having to overcome offenses. Even Jesus, Who was sinless had to forgive and overcome accusation. However we can keep from multiplying more stumbling stones by believing scripture, and then making different choices. Learning obedience to scripture is like teaching a child that the rocks in the fire are hot. You teach them in a lesser degree what hot feels like. Once they understand, some children see the fire and never get near. Those who do get increasing doses of hot until they learn. There are many kinds of stumbling stones that can cause someone to stumble. I believe the most prevalent ones are un-forgiveness, accusation and judgment. How do we keep from tripping? It is just like the hot rocks in the fire. If we believe scripture and that God means what He says, we are promised if we dont forgive, we will not be forgiven. We are promised if we judge others, we will be judged. And we are taught that what we sow, we reap and so we should treat others as we would have them treat us. Thus we refrain from accusing others so we dont receive a harvest of accusation in return. One may wonder how does overcoming offenses relate to knowing the Lord in an intimate way? Because God is love and if we don’t learn to love, we don’t know Him. When we do not forgive, when we accuse and judge we are not loving others and we are not loving God. Matt 25:45-46 NKJV Then He will answer them, saying, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these , you did not do it to Me.' REMOVING THE DISTRACTING CARES OF THIS WORLD In the Greek, the word “cares” means a distracted, divided mind or heart. God has given us a unique ability to only have one thought at a time. We were created to be single minded and focused. If we have one thought in one moment, but then have a totally unrelated thought the next, we have a divided mind and it lures us away from our closeness with God. Luke 10:41-42 KJV And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things. But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her. How do we overcome distraction to get close to God? It is very simple! Scripture tells us to PRAY about whatever is distracting us! Phil 4:6-7 KJV Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 1 Peter 5:7 KJV Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. 1 Peter 5:7 AMP Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully. [Ps 55:22.] If I tried to condense intimacy with God down into one nugget, I would say desperation and intimacy are good matches to cause and effect. Why? Because the world, the enemy and our own hearts are completely PACKED with distractions. Each and every distraction lures us away and challenges our values and priorities to test what or whom do we really love? What or whom we love will end up consuming our time and putting all else as second and third place. Some of us it takes a life time to cull through the stuff to find out the answer to that question. And some of us it just takes some genuine suffering. PRAYER: Lord teach me to PRAY about everything that steals me away from You. When I am distracted by worry, fear, anxiety... remind me to put those very same issues that are dividing me from You, right back into Your loving care. I want to hear You more, I want to see what You are doing more, and I want to understand You more. In Jesus Name, amen. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words from the The Quickened Word are excerpts from the journals of Sandy Warner. This means He delegated His authority to us. And we can use that authority against all forms of darkness. “And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” (Matthew 16:19 NKJV) We have been given the power in Jesus’ Name to bind the forces of darkness, and loose ourselves or others from its grip. This authority is available to anyone who believes in the Name of Jesus. The devil hates the Name of Jesus! He shrinks from the very thought. The Bible says to resist the devil and he will flee from you. (James 4:7) In relation to hearing more from the Lord, He wants us to use this authority against the devouring enemy who would seek to steal our daily hearing. If you want to hear more from the Lord, in the Name of Jesus, bind the devourer on a continuing basis, and loose the Words of God to come to yourself. Also, in Jesus name, loose your own ears to hear and your heart to understand what He says. This really works. When I wrote the first draft of my first book in 1984, I was accustomed to hearing from the Lord on a continuing basis, and then I began to get interference from the enemy. At that time, I was reminded of the verses when Daniel prayed to hear from God to receive understanding. An angel was sent to him the day he prayed, but it took twenty one days for the angel to fight through opposing forces. With that in mind, if it took the angel that long to get through, shouldn’t we remain consistent to pray and use the authority He has given us? Dan 10:12-13 NKJV Then he said to me, "Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words. It helps to loose the angels to do their work, since we are joined with them, and we need to use our authority against the opposition who would delay God’s Words from getting through. When I began taking consistent authority over the enemy, from stealing my daily portion of Words from God, I began to hear more and more. The key to this is not only believing in the Mighty Name of Jesus to loose what is bound or delayed, but also to not give up. PRAYER OF AUTHORITY Lord, my earnest request is that I hear Your voice and see what You are doing. I want to partner with You in bringing Your kingdom on earth, and also in bringing it inside of me. I ask that You will remove the hindrances against my spiritual hearing. I ask that You will send forth Your Word and heal my deaf ears. I bind the deaf and blind spirits in Jesus Name and command them to be broken off and carried away, never to return. I bind every word curse and demonic assignment sent against me and my hearing and seeing and command them to fall null and void in the Name of Jesus Christ. No weapon formed against me and my spiritual hearing and seeing will prosper. I place the blood of Jesus Christ over my eyes and ears and dedicate my ears and eyes to Him. In Jesus Name, amen. Isa 54:17 NKJV No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their righteousness is from Me," Says the LORD. Ps 107:19-20 NKJV Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, And He saved them out of their distresses. He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions. OVERCOMING THE FAMINE FOR HEARING GOD Amos 8:11-12 NKJV "Behold, the days are coming," says the Lord GOD, "That I will send a famine on the land, Not a famine of bread, Nor a thirst for water, But of hearing the words of the LORD. They shall wander from sea to sea, And from north to east; They shall run to and fro, seeking the word of the LORD, But shall not find it. In context to its surrounding verses, I think the above scripture is talking about an end time judgment when open preaching and the prophetic Word is not readily available. However, every time I read or think of that scripture I can not bare to think how horrible it would be to be without the Word of God. That is one of the reasons I have tried so hard to get everything He has given me on line, so that people who go through that will have some help and comfort. People have asked me throughout the years to pray for them about being able to hear the Lord. I have done a lot of personal intercession about the idea and over that verse. There are a couple things the Lord has shared with me in regards to overcoming a famine of hearing Him. Matt 13:14-15 NKJV 'Hearing you will hear and shall not understand, And seeing you will see and not perceive; For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.' This above scripture is very powerful if you take the time to ponder its meaning. Basically it is saying that God does not want them to hear and understand. If they heard and understood, then they would TURN or REPENT and therefore God would have to heal them. If He does not want them to be healed in hearing, seeing and understanding, then He is going to close down their ability to repent. The way He closes that down is to keep them from understanding what is wrong. He is a very gracious God and if they turn, repent and change, He will forgive and heal them. The other truth the Lord gave me is about those who have grieved the Holy Spirit in some way. For centuries, God has sent visitations of the Holy Spirit to people, churches, cities, and denominations and then men try to control Him and put Him in their God sized box. They quench His ability to move among the people and try to schedule Him into their agendas. This has caused the Lord’s river to sweep through a place and take those who are willing to move with Him, and leave behind those who are resistant. behind. In time, this leaves churches and denominations, and individual people in famine of hearing Him. Here is a section from another lesson that is relevant to what we need to repent of so that we can once again have Him freely flowing in our lives and that we may hear and see Him in the fullest measure possible. WARNINGS ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT Scripture warns us to honor the Holy Spirit with reverence and respect. * Do not blasphemy the Holy Spirit * Do not resist the Holy Spirit * Do not grieve the Holy Spirit * Do not quench the Holy Spirit * Do not lie to the Holy Spirit * Do not strive with the Holy Spirit * Do not test the Holy Spirit DO NOT BLASPHEME THE HOLY SPIRIT Every sin or blasphemy can be forgiven—except blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, which can never be forgiven. Anyone who blasphemes against me, the Son of Man, can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven, either in this world or in the world to come. (Matt 12:31-32 NLT) DO NOT RESIST THE HOLY SPIRIT You stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, so do you. (Acts 7:51 NKJV) DO NOT GRIEVE THE HOLY SPIRIT And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. (Eph 4:30 NKJV) DO NOT QUENCH THE HOLY SPIRIT Do not quench the Spirit. (1 Thess 5:19 NKJV) QUENCH: NT:4570 sbennumi (sben’-noo-mee); a prolonged form of an apparently primary verb; to extinguish (literally or figuratively): KJV - go out, quench. DO NOT LIE TO THE HOLY SPIRIT Then Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart? You lied to the Holy Spirit, and you kept some of the money for yourself. The property was yours to sell or not sell, as you wished. And after selling it, the money was yours to give away. How could you do a thing like this? You weren’t lying to us but to God.” As soon as Ananias heard these words, he fell to the floor and died. (Acts 5:3-5 NLT) DO NOT STRIVE WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT And the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.” (Gen 6:3 NKJV) DO NOT TEST THE HOLY SPIRIT And Peter said, “How could the two of you even think of doing a thing like this— conspiring together to test the Spirit of the Lord? (Acts 5:9 NLT) REPENTANCE PRAYER OVER GRIEVING THE HOLY SPIRIT Lord I humble myself before You and ask that You will forgive me for grieving the Holy Spirit, the very center of Your heart and feelings. I have disobeyed when I have heard Your voice. I have tested Your patience for years, when you have spoken to me about my willingness to change and I have resisted. In the past, I have tried to control my own response to Your Spirit and felt strangely about how others respond to You. Please forgive me for anything I have done to try to control Your flow. I have not intended to quench Your Spirit and hinder You in any way. I have not wanted to despise prophesies, Lord, and sometimes they are too strong of meat for me to discern and I have turned my heart the other way. Please forgive me for despising any prophesy that is from Your heart. I have spoken wrongly about Your anointed leaders and complained. Please forgive me for quenching Your Spirit due to unbelief and lack of reception to their message. I ask that You will open my eyes and turn my hard heart to receive Your message through all Your chosen messengers. Neither do I want to blaspheme the Holy Spirit by saying Your messengers are operating with the devil’s power. I do not want to partner with such sin in Jesus Name. Please deliver me from a hard heart from having grieved Your Spirit. Return, oh Lord, not just with a visitation, but rather a habitation where You fill me and dwell with me in Your fullness. Eradicate anything in my life that has given You sorrow. Please let us abide together as one. In Jesus Name I pray. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words from the The Quickened Word are excerpts from the journals of Sandy Warner. That truth used to really bother me, because I noted so many who were “experiencing” Him in much closer ways than I was. I started searching scripture and also going through an intense amount of suffering and I discovered that truth first hand. God is available to the exact degree that we need Him, cling to Him, are desperate for Him, are satisfied with Him, call upon Him, and receive Him. Luke 11:9-13 NLT And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will be given what you ask for. Keep on looking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened. 10 For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And the door is opened to everyone who knocks. 11 "You fathers — if your children ask for a fish, do you give them a snake instead? 12 Or if they ask for an egg, do you give them a scorpion? Of course not! 13 If you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him." Matt 5:6 NKJV Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled. Matt 13:58 NKJV Now He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief . At one time I thought perhaps it was related to one’s callings and to the degree that someone is equipped to function for that purpose. That is partially true. But in the end, it still settles down to the fact that even the highest callings can operate independently from Him, use their gifts for their own purposes, and eventually fall away. And non of that equates to intimacy in knowing Him. Matt 7:21-23 NKJV "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord , Lord , have we not prophesied in Your name , cast out demons in Your name , and done many wonders in Your name ?' And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!' KEEP ON ASKING, SEEKING, KNOCKING Today in the car my 2 year grandson was practicing a word and kept trying to get it right. I did not question or interfere, I just listened and wondered what he was trying to say. Suddenly he said it very clear, “KNOCK, KNOCK.” I exclaimed, “Yea, you said Knock, Knock!” He smiled and then knocked on the car window with his hand. I knew it was a Word from the Lord. Luke 11:9-13 NLT "And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will be given what you ask for. Keep on looking, and you will find. Keep on knocking , and the door will be opened. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And the door is opened to everyone who knocks. "You fathers — if your children ask for a fish, do you give them a snake instead? Or if they ask for an egg, do you give them a scorpion? Of course not! If you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him." Rev 3:20-21 NKJV Behold, I stand at the door and knock . If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. PRAYER: Lord we may fumble around and not get our words right, but we are seeking Your door, that You will open and sup with us. We ask for Your good gifts of the kingdom. Do not pass us by Lord, but hear our attempts to knock, for as little children we simply jabber and know that You understand. 1 Cor 13:7 NLT Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. WORD O’ GRAM: SEEK HIM Searching for His Truth. Eager to know what He thinks. Eternal perspectives are treasures. Knowing He wants to be found. Having questions He can answer. I nstinctively perceiving His Presence. Making time to connect. Matt 7:7-12 NKJV Ask, and it will be given to you; seek , and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! Prov 25:2 NKJV It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter. When you wake in the morning, you open your eyes and see your Friend and smile. When you get ready in the morning you talk to each other about your day’s plans. When you have coffee together, you get the last minute details to organize the day, double check about the previous discussions regarding difficult issues and then you are out the door to do what you do. Even though what you do is stressful and hard, even though sometimes you feel pressed by many demands, you are reminded that you are partnering with your Friend to help make provision for those you love. You jot down notes during the morning of things that you forgot to share with your Friend. At break, you call your Friend just to check in and mutually plan lunch. You meet your Friend for lunch and have an intimate time sharing about what matters. Some problems that arose in the morning you ask for your Friend’s help and perspective. After lunch, you are strengthened and believe you can tackle the problem with renewed hope. The afternoon breezes through very busy. When you get stuck on that problem, you make a quick call for a reminder of what your Friend mentioned at lunch. You find your bearings, realigned and then move through it with ease. You can hardly wait to get home to a snuggly place of quiet rest and being with your best Friend face to face. Every part of your day is in remembrance of your Friend whom you trust never to betray you, always to support and encourage you, who believes in what you are doing and appreciates everything you pour into your day to make a difference. In reciprocal trust, you have total faith that your Friend is doing the very same thing you are doing, for the very same reasons. This strength and sustenance that you receive in your mutual relationship, whether you see each other or not, is abiding peace that two are better than one and that you do not walk alone. When the day is done, you have both partnered together to lovingly pour out for each other, and for those around you to make the world a better place. “ABIDING” DESCRIBED IN SCRIPTURE Jesus spoke a key concept when He spoke about abiding in Him. Notice how many times the following scripture mentions the word abide: “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. (John 15:4-11 NKJV) The Greek word for abide is translated: abide, remain, dwell, continue, tarry, endure. It means to continue to be present, to be held or kept, to last and not to perish, to endure, to survive and live in a condition of waiting. {Strongs 3306} If you were to substitute each word in this translation for the word abide in the above verse, it gives you an added understanding of what it means to abide in Jesus. To me, it means to hang on tight to Jesus and His Words, to not give up (and thus to survive), and to wait for Him no matter what! Those words are hang on, tenacious words depicting a deep abiding trust and reliance upon Him. He said if we abide in Him, His joy will “remain” in us. Guess what the word “remain” means? It is the same Greek word as “abide.” Therefore, if we hang on to Jesus’ Words, His joy will hang onto us! HOW DO I ABIDE IN JESUS? When I abide in Jesus, I do the following things: When I do not have peace over an issue, I cling to Him in prayer until I find His assurance. It may be simple sentences all day long. It might be tongues. It might be a full and complete prayer at one time until He floods me with His peace. When I come into that peace I know I am abiding and one with Him on His Vine. When He gives me a promise then I do everything I can to believe what He tells me. When circumstances oppose that promise, I am actively clinging to Him and His Word that raises a standard against it. When I am unhappy, I am enduring with His help, knowing He is very near. Part of enduring is standing with Him in what opposes His Word and His will in my life. I endure because I love and trust Him in the process. When I wait with Him in longsuffering, as He waits the same, I know we are abiding together. When I have simple conversation with Him as I go about my day, I am abiding in Jesus. When I lean upon Him every day to be my Source for all I need, I am trusting and abiding in Jesus. When I obey His Word, I am abiding in His love. When I know I am nothing, have nothing without Him and His Word, I know I am abiding in Jesus. When I can’t go one day without hearing from Him, and experiencing His Presence I know I am abiding in Jesus. When I do nothing by myself, independently and separated from Him and His approval, I know I am abiding in Jesus. When I live my life in Jesus and let Jesus live His life in me, I know I am abiding in Jesus. When I treat Him as my Friend and behave as though I am His Friend, I know I am abiding in Jesus. When my life produces the fruit of love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control, I know I am abiding in Jesus. There are many ways to “abide” in Jesus. These give you examples of what it means. Living an independent life away from Jesus is the opposite of abiding. Independence might be believing in Jesus and the Bible, but not following what Jesus said, or obeying what scripture says in how to live a Christian life. Abiding is leaning on Jesus for everything there is to live within the Christian life. ABOUT JESUS Sin caused an eternal separation between mankind and the heavenly Father. He loved the people of the world so very much that He sent His son Jesus Christ to earth, to live among them and then die on the cross for their sins. Those who believe that Jesus was God’s Son, and died for their sins will have the gift of eternal life. That means that if we tell the Father our sins and ask Him to forgive us, He will accept us because Jesus paid the price. John 3:13-17 NKJV No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven. 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. Not only did Jesus die, but He overcame death, raised from the grave, visited many who were mourning His death, then visually returned to heaven in the clouds. He told us that even though He had to leave this earth, He would not leave us without comfort. He would send us the gift of His ever abiding Presence through the Holy Spirit - His very essence. That’s quite a gift! “...I will ask the Father and he will give you another Comforter, and he will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, the Spirit who leads into all truth. The world at large cannot receive him, for it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you do, for he lives with you now and some day shall be IN you. No, I will not abandon you or leave you as orphans in the storm - I will come to you.” (John 14:16-18 TLB) In the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit visited and came upon individuals, but since the day of Pentecost, (the fulfillment of an Old Testament feast) we can have His Spirit dwelling within us. Now, we can have a much greater intimacy available to us in hearing God than they ever experienced. “For I tell you that many prophets and kings have desired to see what you see, and have not seen it, and to hear what you hear, and have not heard it.” (Luke 10:24 NKJV) The question arises does God speak to people who do not believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior? The answer is yes, God speaks to everyone at any time in any place in every means. God speaks always. Whether we hear or understand Him is another matter. It is very difficult to hear what He is saying when we do not have the Presence of His Holy Spirit within us to help make the connection. Remember, quickening is a requirement of hearing Him speak, and quickening can not happen apart from the Holy Spirit. When you pray for those who do not know Jesus, pray that the Holy Spirit will visit them and the Father will draw them to the Lord. Jesus said, “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him.” (John 6:44 NKJV) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words from the The Quickened Word are excerpts from the journals of Sandy Warner. Walking in the Spirit is merely being aware and sensitive to the fact that Jesus is inside, and He is drawing us. He uses our eyes, ears, mouth, hands, mind, and life as His expression. The foundation of it all - begins as learning how to identify what is quickened by His Spirit. They are like trail markers that connect the dots from tree to tree. The things that are quickened in life are like signs saying, “You are here and I am with you.” Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. Galatians 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. I learned the concept of following only what the Spirit was saying and doing when Bob Jones held conferences and he wanted the speakers to share what they had received the night prior. They gathered at breakfast in a powwow and each shared what they received and then understood the direction of what the Holy Spirit was wanting to go at the conference meetings that day. I have been practicing that same idea in my fellowship with people and in teaching what He is bringing to the table. It is an awesome way to be Spirit led and very fun. It is learning to take the back seat and honoring what the Lord brings up in conversations and then allowing Him to connect the common denominators and subjects in a natural flowing sharing process. I have so enjoyed seeing how the Lord weaves His Words in order to build and restore and bring increase. Learning this concept in functioning in a team is important. It is learning to be sensitive to the flow of what He is saying and doing through the body - connecting into that flow, giving honor to others, knowing their gifts and submitting to the Lord Definition * Common reference points * Know the Environment * See Details * A Riddle * A Parable * A Blooper * A Typo * Animals * Creation * Word pun * Revelation * Confirmation * Sign in the earth * Sign in the media * Dream * Word of Counsel * Opened Taste and/or Smell * Opened Touch * Thoughts Directed * Mind of Christ * Write under Inspiration *Reoccurrence * Consecrated emotion * A Photo * A Cartoon * A Design * A Bumper Sticker * A Billboard through them. In the NT the Lord sent out His disciples in teams of two. This was important for their agreement and protection. This is something God Himself does in joining people together for His purposes. It is the whole concept of living stones being prepared outside the quarry and then being fit into place. Mark 6:7 And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth two by two; and gave them power over unclean spirits; Matthew 18:19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth concerning anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father who is in heaven. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labor. 10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falls; for he has not another to help him up. Psalms 133:1-2 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! 2 It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; WHY DID JESUS LEAVE AND GIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT IN HIS PLACE? As human beings, it is hard to understand what it really means to walk in the Spirit, and as the scripture mentions below, the flesh and Spirit are contrary to one another. I would like to explain this by way of a revelation the Lord showed me. Romans 8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. Gal 5:24 NKJV If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. The disciples were human beings in the flesh and they walked with Jesus Who walked in a human body on earth. They saw Jesus every day; watched Him pray, watched Him do miracles and teach. They saw the fruit of His character and lifestyle. Even when they did not understand some things, they truly listened and really did know Him and His teachings. They also got to experience this when the Lord gave them power and authority to heal the sick and cast out devils. And that was pretty awesome. However, Jesus knew something was missing and it was an important part of their training. Picture them being totally bonded to Jesus and all that He represented, when He said these Words: John 16:5-8 NLT "But now I am going away to the one who sent me, and none of you has asked me where I am going. Instead, you are very sad. But it is actually best for you that I go away, because if I don't, the Counselor won't come. If I do go away, he will come because I will send him to you. I am sure they scratched their heads, in the same way I do when I read that scripture. Who in their right mind wouldn’t rather have Jesus with them? Why is it better to have the Holy Spirit? * Advertising * A Buzz Word * A License Plate * etc! Now make the connection with this scripture: Luke 17:20-21 NKJV "The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, 'See here!' or 'See there!' For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you." Do you see the connection? They walked with Jesus in full observation of Who He was and what He did. However they had yet to understand, realize and EXPERIENCE the Lord’s kingdom inside of them. What they saw with their natural eyes and ears encumbered them from entering into the secret kingdom that Jesus spoke of, and Jesus walked in. Here Jesus’ death ripped all the veils away and He made it possible to truly hear and see and know God. But Jesus had to leave for them to find it. In the same way Jesus knew the invisible Father while He walked the earth, Jesus wanted them to learn how to walk in the Spirit and to know God’s kingdom within them. Have you ever wanted a popular spiritual leader to personally mentor you, call you on the phone and teach you face to face? How often does the Lord answer that prayer? (Smile) Have you ever desired a really good friend or group of people to walk with in the Lord with whom you are equally yoked? These gifts are wonderful helps and add strength to your faith and comfort so that you don’t feel so alone. The Lord has intended that as a body, we need one another and cannot walk independently. He has also intended that His gifts are imparted through people. However, these helps should not take your focus away from a deeper communion with the Holy Spirit in a quiet, intimate walk of hearing and seeing the realm of the Spirit which is without observation. 1 John 2:27 NKJV But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him. Matt 16:17-18 NLT Jesus replied, "You are blessed, Simon son of John, because my Father in heaven has revealed this to you. You did not learn this from any human being. When what you see in the natural is taken away, it is as though a stripping takes place and you come into a different world. The more you commune with the Lord, Whom you cannot see in the natural, the more you learn to commune with Him through the Holy Spirit. CONNECTING THE DOTS ON HIS TREASURE MAP THE MORE WE EXPERIENCE, THE MORE WE LEARN HOW He quickens His Words with life. He takes the veil away and reveals His truth. He brings personal confirmations. He speaks His Words in parts and pieces. Along the left column are suggestions of the many ways God speaks to us through parts and pieces. As we learn to sense His quickening upon something, we are drawn to it, and as we seek Him about it, He will help us connect the dots with other parts. It is a journey, like following a treasure map as He leads us from one dot to another until we fully understand His message and intent. He surrounds us with those rich experiences and the more we have, the more we learn how to walk in His Spirit. None of these experiences can happen in the flesh, where we can “make” them happen. Each one of them is a gift from the Holy Spirit. We may live our entire Christian life and have these experiences from time to time, but not recognize them as a vital and important part of intimacy with Him. Each one of them is learning HOW the Holy Spirit communes with us, speaks to us, and walks with us. The more we become acquainted with recognizing the foundational experiences of quickening, revelation, confirmations, and God puzzles, the easier it is to hear Him and walk with Him. This precious relationship happens on the inside of us. John 14:26 NKJV But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words from the The Quickened Word are excerpts from the journals of Sandy Warner. It was quickened to me and so I turned it into a teaching. Hi Sandy Just as I began to read the word today, my immediate thought was, "Lord HOW does she hear your words"....I would ask you Sandy if you can help in this area. Although I have walked with the Lord for many, many years, and am gifted in the prophetic ministry, I have never had an open vision, or visions for that matter, only had one prophetic dream. I seem to be really blocked from being able to breakthrough. If you can give any advice through your years of hearing Him, I'd appreciate it. RESPONSE FROM SANDY I have been listening to the Lord and journaling since 1984. After all these years, He continually reinforces that I have to use what He gives me and then He gives me more. It is being accountable to steward and then expecting to receive more increase as I use it. I have found that if I dont steward what He gives me, then the well dries up and sometimes it dries up really fast. Below is what the Lord has taught me in how to dig a spiritual well of hearing Him and then maintaining it. Mark 4:24-25 NKJV Then He said to them, "Take heed what you hear. With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear, more will be given. For whoever has, to him more will be given; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him." BE ACCOUNTABLE AND STEWARD WHAT HE GIVES YOU 1. Journal what you hear, see, perceive, search for, question. DREAM 5/13/94: THE LORD LIKES LENGTHY PUZZLES I had a dream about someone trying to understand a mystery. The lady said, “If that's all the notes you keep, you'll never understand it. He likes lengthy puzzles.” Hab 2:2-3 NKJV Then the LORD answered me and said: "Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. 3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry. CHEW it, ponder it, apply it and then let it feed your spirit with faith and your soul with understanding. Submit to Him in places that need to change and mature. 2. Add scriptures. Do word searches, cross references, and study the scriptures as they relate to what you see and hear. 2 Tim 2:15 AMP Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested by trial), a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing {rightly handling and skillfully teaching} the Word of Truth. 3. If you are being mentored (like on my email list), steward what you are given. If something confirms where you are, take notes and paste it all together so that you have your own journey of how the Lord is weaving it all together to build your faith and hearing. Eph 4:15-16 NKJV may grow up in all things into Him who is the head — Christ — 16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. 4. Be His witness of what you see and hear. Share what God is speaking to you in a personal way in order to encourage, comfort, help, strengthen, build up someone else. Giving is the best and easiest way to get your well flowing. Prov 11:25 NLT The generous prosper and are satisfied; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed. John 8:28-29 NKJV I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things. 5. Stay under His glory spout. Whereever you are perceiving that you are experiencing His Presence, being confirmed, encouraged, fed and you are participating.... DON'T LEAVE. Stick with it and participate however you can, through the above ideas. He is building spiritual watering holes and you need to stay there because outside is increasing famine. Amos 8:11-12 NKJV "Behold, the days are coming," says the Lord GOD, "That I will send a famine on the land, Not a famine of bread, Nor a thirst for water, But of hearing the words of the LORD. They shall wander from sea to sea, And from north to east; They shall run to and fro, seeking the word of the LORD, But shall not find it. 6. Pray about what you hear and see. Pray it into your life, into your loved ones, your church and into His corporate body. Find someone who will agree with you in prayer over what you see and hear. Luke 6:12-13 NKJV Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray , and continued all night in prayer to God. Matt 18:19-20 NKJV "Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them." 7. Throw out all limitations on HOW you want God to speak to you. Isa 45:6-7 KJV That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else. 7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things. Rom 8:28 NKJV And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. 8. Let your measure of hearing Him be through every detail. Ask Him to open the eyes of your understanding to see how they really do relate and what He is saying to you about them. You will be amazed as you start to see Him in every area of your life, divinely plant even the smallest details into puzzles that make sense to His overall whole. All that is lacking is the eyes to see it. Bind spiritual blindness and loose your eyes to see. Luke 24:30-33 NLT As they sat down to eat, he took a small loaf of bread, asked God's blessing on it, broke it, then gave it to them. 31 Suddenly, their eyes were opened, and they recognized him. And at that moment he disappeared! 32 They said to each other, "Didn't our hearts feel strangely warm as he talked with us on the road and explained the Scriptures to us?" Pray daily for eyes to see, ears to hear and the heart to understand. 9. Repent of fellowshipping in the world in places that grieve His Holy Spirit. Carnal TV is a really, really big issue. Speaking critically about people is another one. And so is pornography and any type of witchcraft. James 4:4-5 NKJV Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. 5 Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, "The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously"? 10. Submit to His uprooting the tares of your soul and washing you. Allow Him to clean up the parts of your soul that do not line up with His Word. Thought, word, deed and motive. Ask Him for the reward that as you submit to the process, that He will bring you closer to Him and you will hear and see Him more clearly because of it. 11. PRAY, PRAY, PRAY. ASK, ASK, ASK. SEEK, SEEK, SEEK. Every day and every night I ask for and expect to hear Him. Matt 7:7-12 NKJV "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek , and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 9 Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! 12. Continually keep your well primed. I have watched many people's spiritual wells dry up and no longer function in the gifts. Instead of pressing in for more, they believe it is the Lord's will that their wells are no longer flowing as they once were. This has put the fear of God in me, and I continually work to keep my spiritual well primed and pumping clear water. If there is dirty water or the threat of my well drying up, I press in to the Lord through prayer, tongues, worship, fasting and sacrifice until it returns steady and pure. I ask for prayer. I break off curses, I ask again for prayer. I press in. If I am away from His glory spout and I know where I have found it in the past, I return to that place. It is a serious and desperate stand I take until I am flowing again. It is my life time prayer to know Him intimately and continue to flow in His Spirit. Above all I try to stay accountable with what He gives me, regardless of whether I like what He gives. I find in the end that when I swallow it, I have His peace that totally sustains me. John 4:13-14 NKJV Jesus answered and said to her, "Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life." John 6:57-58 NKJV As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me. This is the bread which came down from heaven — not as your fathers ate the manna , and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever." PRAYER: Lord I pray for whoever has read this teaching. I know they would not have read it, if they were not hungry to hear You. I ask that You will honor their hunger, their quest and their deepest yearnings to hear You more. Help them pinpoint areas in their life where they can stretch and grow into a bigger portion of hearing ears and seeing eyes. Grant them hearts to understand. Grant them a divine thirst for You that wont quit until they have broken through and heard You speak to them to the point of their need, desire and desperation. Papa You promised us DAILY BREAD and JESUS IS OUR BREAD OF LIFE. Grant those who are hungry for You, their daily portion in Jesus Name I ask.
