TRANSITION FROM V4 TO V6
How to Proceed
This process is very important as V4 and V6 are not compatible on a software point of view
BE CAREFUL
YOU CANNOT READ V4 DAGS WITH UPDATED V6 EQUIPMENT
STEP 1 : MAKE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN V4 AND V6 DAGs

- Chip is either in middle (on the left)
or in the right lower corner (on the right),
- Backwards paper is yellow
- Antenna cable is blue

STEP 2 : CHECK YOUR EQUIPMENT COMPATIBILITY FOR V6 USE
1- First versions of tuning boxes (silver boxes) cannot be used and must be changed to V13
and V14

to V13 and V14 valid versions : 9*11,5 cm

STEP 3 UPGRADE YOUR EQUIPMENT VERSIONS TO V6
1 – Reminder :
The Blackbox is composed of an intelligence and one or two long range readers. The file
for the intelligence is of “.MHX” type, the file for the reader is of “HEX” type.
To update these elements we need : the tools “update_mhx” and “updates_hex” + the files to
install with those extensions.
The Badger is composed of an intelligence and one short range reader. The file for the
intelligence is of “.MHX” type, the file for the reader is of “HEX” type.
To update these elements we need : the tools “update_mhx” and “update_hex” + the files to
install with those extensions.
The DAG Prog is a short range reader and communicates through USB; To install a DAG
Prog you must install the USB Driver, to update it only you need : the tools “update_hex” +
the file to install with this extension.

You will need to upgrade all your blackboxes, badgeurs and DAG Progs
Versions for V6 :
- SetDAG = SetDAG 7.04 and above
- WinDAG 9.6.35 and above
- BlackBox version : 505c and above
- Reader version : 112d6
- Badgeur : 6.18a and above + 101c60
- DAG Prog : 102c 60

install all the tools (“update”) (in total 3 tools)

follow step by step all the indications, do not miss any action
2- Time required : total : 1hour 15 mins
- tools installation and files copying : 5 Mins
- Documentation printing : 5 mins
- updating 1 BB with MHX and HEX : 30 mins
- transition BB : 20 Mins
- updating 1 Badgeur with MHX and HEX : 10 mins
- updating DAG Prog : 5 mins
WE ADVISE YOU TO GO THROUGH THIS PROCESS AT LEAST ONE WEEK
BEFORE YOUR FIRST V6 RACE IN ORDER TO HAVE TIME TO CONTACT YOUR
SALES REPRESENTATIVE IN CASE YOU HAVE ANY DOUBT OR PROBLEM;
3- Upgrade your Blackbox, refer to the “Update Blackbox”
a. Update your Blackbox intelligence with the latest V6 intelligence (MHX file,
505c at the date of the present document)
b. Update your Blackbox readers with the latest V6 reader version (HEX file
112d60 at the date of the present document). You need to do this on each
reader if you have a BB4
c. Set up and run the transition software provided on the transition CD and
follow the “Transition Procedure Guide”
d. Do not forget to send us the file (“.mig”) that confirms your change

c. check your versions in the Sysop Menu
6- Updateyour DAG Prog : install the latestV6 short range reader version (MHX file,
102c60 at the date of the present document)
7- TEST WITH THE V6 DAG TEST PROVIDES IN YOUR UPDATE KIT
STEP 4- SET UP THE LAST VERSIONS OF OPERATING SOFTWARES
1- Install WinDAG and discover the new functions
2- Install SetDAG and discover the new functions
All required versions and explanations are on the CD we send you as well as on the extranet.
You can consult your sales representative if you do not have an access yet.
DAG System can provide Online assistance; please check the availabilities and conditions
with your sales representative.
