THE MUNICH SECURITY CONFERENCE FOUNDATION (MSC) AND THE F.A.Z. FORUM ARE
CO-ORGANISING AN INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON THE TOPIC “ENERGY SECURITY”.
THE CONFERENCE WILL BE HELD IN FRANKFURT AM MAIN ON 10 JULY 2013.
Under the patronage of German Federal Environment Minister Peter Altmaier and Federal Minister of
Economics and Technology Dr. Philipp Rösler, chaired by MSC chairman, Ambassador Wolfgang
Ischinger, and F.A.Z. publisher, Dr. Günther Nonnenmacher, this conference will bring together policy
makers, government officials, parliamentarians, business executives, academics and representatives
from IO’s and NGO’s to discuss the economic, environmental and security policy issues surrounding
energy security in the 21st century. The international conference on “Energy Security” will focus on
issues such as changing energy supply and demand as well as options for reducing dependency on
raw materials and energy imports. The debate will extend to aspects of security policy such as
changing supply routes and critical infrastructures, securing exploration and distribution sites as well as
environmental challenges in the area of raw materials and energy exploration such as fracking.
