Society for Promotion of
Library Professionals
(SPLP)
SPLP was established in March 24, 2012
under the Societies Registration Act 1860.
SPLP mission is to create a single integrated voice for library and information
science professionals where they can
share their views and experiences with
each others in the new digital era. SPLP is
committed for the overall development
and promotion of Library and Information
Professionals. For this society is regularly
organizing training programs. SPLP is
also providing the consultancy service for
automation and digitization to the libraries
and information centers in universities,
colleges and schools. It promotes library
movement and improvement in library
services in all its aspects in Uttarakhand.
How to reach Nainital
Nainital, also known as the lake city and lake district of Uttarakhand. Kathgodam railway station,
about 39 km away from Nainital, is the nearest
railhead. Pre-paid taxi services are available from
Kathgodam to Nainital. Regular train services are
available from Delhi, Lucknow, and other cities of
India to Kathgodam.

This workshop is to provide hands-ontraining to library professionals by providing
adequate practical knowledge which will
enable to automate the libraries on their own
by using Koha. Training provides all the
technical know-how to the participants from
the installation, customization, backup / restore, upgrade as well as running various
modules of the software. Hands on exposure
to Koha software and each module including
installation of the CD. Bootable CD and a
user manual will be provided to participants
to install Koha.
