Our Service
What can we provide?
How do you refer?
The Diversionary Activities team provides
support for children and young people aged
5-13 years who are experiencing difficulties
in their lives because of:
> Being a young carer.
> An absent parent – children affected by
imprisonment.
> Behaviours which impact on learning.
> An inability to develop positive peer
relationships & self esteem.
> Bullying and gang culture
> One to one support in school with a
dedicated worker focussing on the
needs of the child.
> Focussed Group Work in Schools
including:
– Bullying
– Social Skills
– Self Esteem
– Friendships
– Gangs
– Transitions to Secondary School
> Holiday Activities
> Information and advice
> Help in accessing other services
> Opportunity to have fun and make new
friends
> Motivational Parent support including:
– Advice sessions
– Parent and child workshops
– Focussed groups
You are able to refer a young person
to the service through an Early Help
Assessment (EHA) or Signs of Safety.
