of matching iron sets began in the
1920s; before that time the golfer
usually assembled a set by selecting
individual clubs based on personal

CJ Putter
The CJ Putter is a replica of “the
most famous putter in the world”- the
Calamity Jane used by Bobby Jones to win the
Grand Slam in 1930. Jones had an explosive
personality and the shaft of the putter had to
be repaired “when the club left Jones’ hands
and made contact with the ground splitting the
shaft open”. Our CJ Model is exact, including the
three repair bindings on the shaft! Available in
right hand only.

Harry Vardon’s competitive career
nearly ended when he lost his putting
touch after suffering nerve damage in his arm
and hand. He came in to contact with Arthur
Brown who had developed a new putter that
he claimed would help Vardon regain his
stroke. The new putter, the Brown Vardon, did
just that and helped Vardon win 2 of his 6
Open titles. Available in right hand only.
This is a replica of the Willie
Dunn Pyralin putter that was
patented in 1903. The sales literature
for the head reads, “the sides of the head are
parallel and substantially at right angles to
the face… so as to aid in fixing the direction
of the shot”. This is one of the first centershafted and face balanced putters! Available
in right hand only.

Putter. The putter was first offered for sale by
A.G. Spalding & Bros. in 1919 and ushered
in an era of flanged sole, blade-style putters
that are still in use today.
The Alex Smith Putter is a
duplicate of an original putter made
by Alex Smith, the winner of the 1906 and
1910 U.S. Open.
