YOUTH ACTIVITIES YOUTH SUMMER ACTIVITIES ‘ONE WAY’ YOUTH GROUP One Way is a weekly time of fellowship, Worship, and Bible study for our Junior High and High School youth. Youth will enjoy fellowshipping with other believers and participating in games and fun activities. One Way is an opportunity for youth to grow and develop in a personal relationship with God. The JH Youth room is located upstairs at the south end of the FLC, the SH Youth room is on the 13th floor (3rd floor). Contact our Youth Pastor in the church office. YOUTH CAMP Check the church website for updated information on Youth Camp. DISCIPLE NOW D-Now is a week of camp fun and Bible Study jam-packed into one weekend. It is open to all Junior High and High School. D-Now is in April. 24 HOURS OF PRAYER Prior to the start of school every year, FBC designates a continuous 24 hour period where members pray for students, as well as the administrators and teachers that impact their lives. 5th QUARTERS Each fall following select High School Friday night home football games until midnight, youth get together in the FLC for pizza, fun, games and fellowship. SENIOR RECOGNITION SERVICE First Baptist Church honors our graduating High School seniors each year in a Worship Service. A congratulatory reception follows the service in the FLC. MISSION OPPORTUNITIES Throughout the year FBC offers our youth mission opportunities. Mission activities include helping people locally in the Navasota community as well as domestic and international mission trips. First Baptist Church Adult & Youth Ministries SUMMER NIGHTS A variety of activities are organized during the summer for youth to attend. Short and inexpensive trips such as bowling, Christian concerts, movies, and ice-skating are planned as well as many free activities here at the church. SPORTS AND FITNESS Sunday evenings at 7:00 p.m. all youth and adults of any skill level are welcome to join in a game of volleyball and/or basketball. The walking track is currently open to youth and adults during church office hours and may also be accessed Sunday and Wednesday evenings during our gym basketball/volleyball games. Clyde O. Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope and the Good News of God’s love to children in desperate situations around the world through these gift-filled shoe boxes. This unique project provides an opportunity for all ages to be involved in a simple, hands-on missions outreach. WOMEN REACHING WOMEN WRW equips women to connect with each other, in spirit of love, for the glory of GOD. Minister’s Fellowship and has a Board of Members for area churches, a Director, and volunteers from area churches to help man the food and clothing pantry. Contact the CCSC Director, Pat Gaston at 936-825-7454 if you would like to volunteer in any way. FEED THE AGGIES AT BAPTIST STUDENT MINISTRY Twice a year we take food to feed the Texas A&M BSM. If you would like to volunteer to help cook and/or serve for this great outreach, please call the church office. FEED THE KIDS ON FRIDAY’S Every Friday during the school year, FBC prepares sack lunches for kids and delivers them to bus stops. “Feed the Kids” will make sure school kids of all ages get one more meal for the weekend. Call the church office to volunteer. MUSIC MINISTRY- ADULT CHOIR Our Sanctuary Choir has rehearsal each Wednesday from 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in the choir room located adjacent to the FLC library. In addition to Worship services, events such as Christmas and Easter musicals and performances at Texas A&M George Bush Library are some of the opportunities our music ministry offers. RETIRED AND SENIOR CITIZENS PLAY, PRAISE & TRAVEL CLUB The P.P.T. is a Christian club open to all retired and senior adults in the community. P.P.T. members meet on the second Thursday of each month from 9:30 a.m. to noon in the FLC dining room. Members enjoy a time of fellowship, games, and travel to places such as Austin, Fredericksburg, Branson, Missouri and Eureka Springs, Arkansas. QUILTS, ETC. Ladies, please join us the first and third Thursdays of each month at 10:00 a.m., as we sew, quilt, embroider and crochet fun and useful creations for our homebound and nursing home members and their roommates. PRAYER PARTNERS Being a Prayer Partner is a vital part to the church service. Prayer Partners pray for several things during the church service. During the invitation time they come forward for both personal prayers and salvation. If you feel the Lord guiding you to volunteer as a Prayer Partner, or need more information please call the church office.
