How to share HDD between Enigma2 receivers If you have multiple Enigma 2 receivers in the house, on the same network, this tutorial will show you how to share the internal hard disk between all receivers. This tutorial was created on a Technomate TM-TWIN running the SatTvHelp image, connecting to a Dreambox DM800HD running the Digitalworldz image. To begin, press the MENU button on your remote, scroll down to Setup and press OK System at the top of the menu will be highlighted, press OK Scroll down to Network and press OK Scroll down to Network Browser and press OK Your receiver will now scan your local network, and show you what its found on your network. If you have PC’s with shared access folders, or a NAS storage device, it will also list these. Highlight the device you want to access, and press OK. On an Enigma 2 receiver, you have the choice of full root access (not recommended) or access to just the Hard drive, highlight the hard drive and press OK You will be asked if you’d like to enter login details for the host, if you haven’t set up a password to access your receiver, then choose no and press OK, otherwise choose yes and enter the password you created, the username will be root Next you will see the mount information screen, none of this needs changing when using Enigma 2 receivers. If you only have a HDD in one of your receivers, and its NOT the receiver you are setting up, for example if your main receiver with a massive HDD is in the living room, and you are following this tutorial on a receiver in another room of the house without a HDD, then you can use the other receivers HDD as though it was actually attached to the receiver you are setting up, this also applies for NAS storage devices. If you want to use this facility, below, you’ll see the option ‘Use as HDD replacement’ change this setting to Yes prior to saving, and you’ll then be able to record etc onto the Hard drive in your other receiver. Next, keep pressing exit until you are out of all menus, bring up your list of recordings, on the TM-TWIN press the rec list button to show everything on your connected HDD Press yellow to change the location of where you are browsing, and you will see your new location at the bottom of the list, highlight it and press OK This will take you to the Hard drive on the other receiver, the recordings on the Hard drive are always stored in a folder named /movie/ so highlight this, and press OK Highlight what you want to watch, press OK, and sit back.
