cutting timber. Avoid breathing
in dust by wearing a dust
mask. Always use an

1. Measure twice, cut once.
2.Clamp timber in place before cutting
for improved safety and accuracy.
3.Sand the ends and edges of timber
after cutting.
4.Power tools such as a Circular saw will
make the project easier and faster, but
remember to stay safe.

How to build your garden bench
Step 1
Step 2
Assemble two opposing bench ends on a flat surface. Component
A
B
C is positioned at a slight angle to give the bench a sloping seat.
Make sure components A and B are parallel before drilling and
fixing to C.
Join the two bench ends using component D
and then add the top back rest of the bench E.

Check the project
is square after every step.

Step 4
Create the seating area by fixing components F and H first, then
component G in between them, making sure you leave equal
spaces between boards.
Create the arms of the bench using components I and J.
Angle the screws that fix the arms to component A to make
sure they do not protrude from the opposite side.

splitting timbers as well as creating
a better surface finish.

Finally, attach supporting struts between component D and the
front legs of the bench.
Attach the second back board.

secure components in position. This allows
you to double check measurements and
that the work is square before drilling
pilot holes and fixing screws

How to build your garden table
Step 1
Step 2
Make two identical table ends, making sure that the structure is
square by sitting components M against a flat surface such as
a straight bit of timber before fixing with screws.
Join the two table ends.

Use Exterior Wood
Glue between joints before you insert
screws for extra strength.

Add cross brace.
Step 4
Create the table top, making sure you leave equal spaces
between boards.
