IARMM 2nd World Congress of Clinical Safety Held by 12 – 13 September 2013, Heidelberg University, Germany International Association of Risk management in Medicine (IARMM) Introduction “Union of Risk Management for Preventive Medicine (URMPM)”, former name of “International Association of Risk Management in Medicine: IARMM)”, was founded as an international medical society for health and safety in Switzerland on April, 2002. Its headquarters has been located in Tokyo, Japan since 2005. This academic medical society held the 1st World Congress of Clinical Safety (1WCCS) in University of London, September 2012 with delegates from over 30 countries. The main purpose of this world congress is to improve and promote a science of risk and emergency management for patient safety, medication safety, medical device safety and infectious disease control together around the world. The 2nd WCCS will be held in Heidelberg, Germany in September 2013 under a keyword of “Risk in Clinical Care”. While by the end of the 20th century, new topics such as clinic gene technology had been added to medicine’s paramount concern with health, it should not be forgotten that health and safety remain integral to human well being. In the 21st century, risk and crisis management are widely recognized as one of fundamental aspects of human existence. Germany is a well-recognized country of world top level in risk science and technologies with over hundred year history. Germany has generated many basic tools, such as risk science, philosophy of risk, risk communication, risk management, etc. Therefore, it is clear that the German scientific culture in risk science and technology can also give great advances in “Risk in Clinical Care” in an aspect of risk science. On the above accounts, the 2nd WCCS is promoting internationally the improvement and promotion of safety cultures for medical service & practice, pharmacology, infectious disease, etc. The 2nd WCCS will be held in Heidelberg, Germany in response to many requests to exchange knowledge and experiences with our international experts in risk and emergency management. We are inviting experts from Germany, other European countries, North America plus those from several international organizations. The 2nd WCCS will also host many delegates from Europe, US, Canada, Australia, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. It is expected that lessons from German risk world will contribute to the improvement of safety cultures in healthcare around the world Registration and Dinner fees All registration prices are VAT Exempt Price Price IARMM Non-Member IARMM Member and Student Delegate Fee Thursday 12th & Friday 13th September 2013 €300 €220 Delegate Fee Thursday 12th September 2013 €150 €110 Delegate Fee Friday 13th September 2013 €150 €110 The fee of the remote participant is 200 ERU.
