32. Now let us understand how to become Gandhi by incorporating his principles in our life? Consider yourself as one of the participant in subsequent examples. 33. Ten people are standing at a place and one of them starts heated arguments with you, and shortly thereafter slaps you. What will you do? a. turn other cheek to be slapped . b. Will return him a hard hitting slap. c. Will run away from the scene 34. In such a situation let us see what Gandhi ji will do? Gandhi ji will argue in favour of truth. He will stop(continue with the) argument and show his other cheek ready to have next slap. Once slapping is over he will restart his argument. He will not surrender but continue argument without violence. Result: Except for the person fighting, rest of the people present there will support Gandhi ji. Little later the person quarreling will also become follower of Gandhi ji. 5. In a school of distant village students used to study using slate and chalk pencil. A young teacher joined there. To induce competitive studies (skills) among students he announced that a pen and copy will be given to the student who would top. 36. This student became topper and teacher awarded him a pen and copy. Imagine for a moment, that you are also a student of this class and you did not get prize. 37. What would you feel about your intelligent class fellow, who got the prize? a. He stood first and got a pen, I felt good b. I will work hard and win a pen next time. c. He got a pen, I felt bad. D. I will be happy if his pen is lost. 38. On the basis of these thoughts generated we can evaluate our own nature. Our nature is of positive thinking if our thought is ‘a’. If we think like ‘b’ then our personality is getting inspiration from the environment. If we think like ‘c’ then it shows we are envy. If we think like ‘d’ we are jealous by nature. Jealousy always hurts the person having it, not the person creating it. Therefore never allow jealousy to enter in your mind. Gandhi ji never allowed jealousy to grow. 39. Now let us discuss money, the dream of everybody. 40. Once upon a time there were three needy persons in India. They prayed God day and night. ‘Oh! God please give us money to remove the poverty’. One day God decided to fulfill their wishes. God asked the first person, ‘what is your wish’? The person repliedthat he had a daughter and needed one lac rupees for her marriage. After getting one lac he would be satisfied. Second person had two daughters and needed two lacs. After getting this amount he would be satisfied. Third asked for three lacs and after getting this he would be satisfied too. God asked who is the most poor person among them? ‘Certainly the person who required three lacs is the poorest. ‘ Other two persons replied quickly. To this God said he often received requests for their needs from Birla ji for 500 Cr and from Mr Ambani for 5000 Cr. Then it should mean these people are the poorest and most needy. 41. Gandhi ji always said that money earned with hard work gives pleasure and satisfaction. Money earned without hard work may (often be a source of unhappiness)fail to provide happiness. 42. What is your goal? a. One wants to be an officer, he becomes authority to control many. It satisfies his ego to provide him happiness. b. Second person wants to become a politician. He earns name and fame to provide him happiness. c. Another person wants to become a businessman. He earns lot of money and establishes business empire to get happiness. d. Yet another person wants to become a social worker. He helps a needy person which provides him satisfaction and happiness. In-spite of different professions and ways of life ultimate goal of every body is to get happiness. 43. Let us see how we get happiness? 44. In this picture a boy is taking lift from a biker. The boy who is taking lift has humble expression on his face. On the other hand the biker has no expressions and even his face is hard. 45. In this picture the characters are changed and expressions are also changed appropriately. Help seeking face is humble and help giving face is hard. It happens quite often in our life. 46. Now see this picture, both faces are humble. Real happiness lies when help seeker and help giver are humble and smiling. Is it possible? It is possible only when, before giving help we put ourself in position of help seeker. It will change our heart to make face soft and smiling. 47. Now what gives us more happiness? Lets see. a. By doing expenses on our self or b. By helping others 48. If you want to have perception of happiness, we have an experiment for you. Take out 100 rupees. a. Spend rupees 50 on your self. Feel pleasure. b. Spend rest of 50 rupees to help a needy person. Feel pleasure. Now compare both pleasure and write to us, your experience. 49.
