It is always exciting to hear of chapter members who have put forth the effort to earn this prestigious certification. This month I would like to take the opportunity to recognize and congratulate our newest CMA, Timothy P. Bold, and wish him continued success throughout his accounting career. Each year, the IMA issues certificates of recognition for those members that have completed twenty-five years of continuous membership. This year I am pleased to recognize chapter member Alicia J. Stima on joining this prestigious group of members. Congratulations Alicia! th Be sure to mark your calendar for our annual Controller’s Conference to be held on Friday, November 18 . This is one of the premier accounting events in Northeast Ohio and I have been told that some great speakers have been lined up this year. Details and registration information will be available soon on our chapter website. I recently finished serving as the Chair for this year’s MEF Grant Committee and it was very exciting to see how actively involved the chapters and councils are in promoting the IMA brand and recruiting new members. I would encourage all of you to get involved in the IMA, whether it is at the chapter, council, or national level. Volunteering for the IMA is a tremendous way of showing your support for the organization, honing your personal and professional skills, offering incredible networking opportunities, and the satisfaction of knowing you are doing good and being involved in your community. th Please plan on joining us for our next technical meeting to held on Tuesday, October 18 starting at 5PM at the Hilton Garden Inn. It has been designated as our annual “Accounting Student Night” event. Last year’s event was an unqualified success, and we are looking forward to another successful one this year. We will be inviting students and professors from area colleges to learn about the IMA and the advantages of becoming a CMA. They will also be able to participate in our regularly scheduled technical meeting; listen to current student members and professional speakers; and to network with IMA members and other fellow students. As I have stated several times, students represent the future of IMA, and I am asking as many of you who can attend to be present and support our student community. Details and registration information can be found in this month’s newsletter and on our website. I look forward to seeing you all there!
