How to Upgrade the MGI3 card MGI3 Cards There are two different kinds of MGI3 card The software is Not Compatible between the OSxxx & Osxxxx MGI cards How do you know what software is for which card? MGI3 for OS100, OS500 MGI3 for OS7100, OS7200, OS7400 MGI3 SW for OSxxx (mgi3.xxx) (dsp.xxx) MGI3 SW for OS7xxx (mgi.xxx) (dsp.xxx) Upgrade procedure is the same for both types of cards but Login details are different. Upgrading the MGI3 card What you will need PC FTP client SW e.g. FTP Commander (freeware) MGI3 card installed into relevant phone system and booted up. MGI3 SW downloaded onto your PC Upgrading 1. Configure an IP address onto the MGI card if none exists • • 2. MMC831 / IT 2.2.2 and restart card for setting to be set Make sure you can ping the IP address of the MGI card from your PC Install and Run FTP client SW on your PC Upgrading the MGI3 card 3. Browse to the folder on your PC where you have saved the MGI3 SW MGI SW on your PC Upgrading the MGI3 card 4. Select New Server and enter the IP address of the MGI card and Login details to connect to the MGI card & Save Login details for MGI card IP address of MGI card MGI3 for OS7xxx Username: mgi Password: mgi2550 MGI3 for OSxxx Username: mgi3 Password: mgi33 Upgrading the MGI3 card Your newly created server will now appear in the Server List 5. Double click the server to connect to the MGI card Once connected to the MGI card you should see some files on the MGI card Upgrading the MGI3 card 6. Select all the MGI files on your PC and select Upload to FTP Server The files will now show on the FTP Server i.e. MGI card Upload Files to FTP Server Upgrading the MGI3 card 7. Select Disconnect Upgrading the MGI3 card 8. Open a command prompt and enter: 9. Telnet (ipaddressofmgicard) and Enter Enter the Login details for Username & Password Upgrading the MGI3 card 10. Enter LS and press enter You should now see the files you have uploaded onto the MGI card, if not perform steps 5 -7 again Upgrading the MGI3 card 11. If all the files are present as on the previous page then enter the following commands. MGI3 for OS7xxx siglo mgi.* and enter (wait for command prompt) siglo dsp.* and enter (wait for command prompt) sigboot (MGI card will reboot) MGI3 for OSxxx siglo mgi3.* and enter (wait for command prompt) siglo dsp.* and enter (wait for command prompt) sigboot (MGI card will reboot) Once the MGI card has booted backup confirm the SW level in MMC 727 / IT 2.2.0
