NursiNg Homes Quality RepoRting SyStem (QRS) the Overview The Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services’ Quality Reporting System (QRS) website has information about nursing homes. Each home is given a quality rating based on the results of its most recent licensing inspection, complaint investigations, and resident assessment data. QRS provides information about specific deficiencies and quality comparisons among nursing homes. How to use the Quality Reporting System (QRS) Consider using QRS as a tool as you work with your family, medical team, advocates, and others to select a nursing home. n Helping Texans find and compare long-term service providers Another resource when selecting a nursing home is the Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program. Click on a nursing home name to see detailed information about that home (Figure 3). On the home’s detailed page • click on the definition links to learn more about each category and what the scores mean.
