First you should have installed the INPA 4.4.7 and Ediabas 6.4.3 because of some files
missing or files that are different from the version we are now going to install. This could be
found also at the 4shared site!
When you have downloaded the files extract them and Mount the iso using Deamon Tools.
Step 1 – Making the install work.
Open the dvd and go to the Program installation folder. Rightclick on setup.exe and select
Properties. And go to the tab Compatibality. Choose Run this program as, Windows XP
service pack 3. Choose OK and run setup.exe
Step 2 - Installing BMW Standard Tools
Choose English as language and follow the screens that are prompted
When you come across the screen for selecting the Available Hardware Interface choose
STD:OBD
When the next screen appears choose Com1 and if you are using a USB to serial adapter tick
the box.
Installation will ask you for previous installed folder of Ediabas and INPA, choose the
folders. This should be C:\Ediabas and C:\INPA. Proceed the install and when asked to reboot
computer, reboot your computer!
Step 3 – Updating
Go to the dvd and open folder Referenz then Install and run Instprog.exe.
On the screen prompted choose OK then choose language and Continue
Then choose C:\ as destination drive, this should not be changed!
The choose BMW Group Rectification Programs UK for Europe, USA for USA
Then choose update boxes next to Ediabas and INPA
Continue with the installation and press End when finished. A folder will open, close this
folder.
Step 4 – OBDSetup.exe
Then go to C:\Ediabas\Hardware\OBD and run obdsetup.exe, a screen similar like this should
appear. If not you need to add some register values that are also in the downloaded file!
Run OBDsetup registervalues Windows 7, when prompted to be sure this values should be
added press Yes.
Then run OBDSetup again to check if everything is OK now!
Step 5- Ediabas.ini
When you want to use INPA with DIS\GT1 you have to copy the ediabas.ini file from the
downloaded file to C:\Ediabas\Bin.
The settings in this file are:
LoadWin32

;----------------------------------------------------------------------------; Port

;

These settings should be correct if you are following the guide to installing DIS\GT1 that is
also on the same 4shared site as where you downloaded this!
