How to Add a Billing Agent to an Organization’s User List on Availity
This document provides instructions for adding a billing agent to an organization’s user list on
the Availity®1 Health Information Network.
Note: The Primary Access Administrator (PAA) must have the billing agent’s complete name,
User ID and Also Known As (AKA) name as registered with Availity.
Log into the Availity Health Information Network at www.availity.com.
Select Account Administration
Select Register New User
Complete the registration form using the credentials provided by the billing agent.
Organization demographics may mirror that of the provider.
5. Select specific access to grant to the new user. The following are recommended options:
• Eligibility and Benefits
• Authorization and Referrals
− Health Care Service Inquiry
• Claims Management - this is required for the Claims Reconciliation Tool (CRT)
• My Account
− Maintain Provider
• Account Administration
− Register New Users - This will enable the billing agent to add their employees as
additional users.
− Assign Access to Users - Allows the billing agent to assign CRT access to
employees. Each user should have a unique email address.
− Manage User Status - Allows the billing agent to remove terminated employees
(revoke access) from the organization.
