How to Market Your Business
through the Chamber
NETWORKING
Monthly Membership Meetings
Typically takes place on the third Tuesday of the
month for breakfast, lunch or dinner. This is a
more formal meeting with an agenda.
Business After Hours
Typically takes place on the fourth Wednesday
of the month. A chamber member showcases their business and provides
complimentary beverages and appetizers.
Quarterly Member Orientation
Chance for new & perspective members to learn more
about Chamber programs and activities.
Multi-Chamber Events
When the opportunity arises we combine forces with
other area chambers to expand our networking circle.
This may be for a membership meeting or an afterhours event. The January Multi-Chamber Progressive
Luncheon is popular with members with an anticipated
130+ in attendance.
Social Events
Annual events encourage members to relax, have a little fun, and get better acquainted
with fellow members. A good example of this type of event includes our Annual Golf
Outing in May and Member Appreciation Picnic in July. In December we honor our
Business Person of the Year at the Annual Holiday Party.
Social Media
Members are encouraged to join the Roselle Chamber of Commerce Linked-In Group
as an added opportunity to expand your networking circle.
PROMOTIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

local community. This is a Members Only Program, and it’s FREE OF CHARGE!

Appreciation Picnic & Taste of Roselle, I would like to thank all of our
countless volunteers and our Executive Director, Gail Croson, for
their dedication to this Chamber. We should all be proud of a job well
done!
I would like to thank John & Brianna Gianforte from Impecca

past Business Person of the
Year recipients starting with
our 2011 Business Person
of the Year Dr Kristen Langner of Langner Eye Care.
Dr. Kristen Langner is the sole practitioner and owner of
Langner Eye Care, which she opened in Roselle in 2005.
After five years at her office on Irving Park Road, Dr.
Langner renewed her commitment to practicing in Roselle
and moved to a larger, modern office occupying a large
space on Main Street in downtown Roselle.
Dr. Langner has been an active member of the Roselle
Chamber of Commerce and Industry since opening
her office. She regularly volunteers at the Annual Golf
Outing, Taste of Roselle Bingo tent and Rose Parade. Dr.
Langner also serves on the Roselle Chamber Scholarship
Committee. Additionally, Office Manager and husband
Kevin Weslock is serving his first term as Director on the
Board of Directors for the Roselle Chamber.
A lifelong resident of the Roselle/Medinah area, Kristen
grew up in Medinah, attending Trinity Lutheran School and
Lake Park High School, and even worked at Shirl’s Drive-In.
Dr. Langner and Kevin currently reside in Roselle.
In the community, Kristen volunteers her time at Trinity
Lutheran Church as a songleader in the praise band and
serves as a member of the Mission Ministry. Kristen is also
the co-founder and President of See to Read-Read to See,
a not-for-profit mission that organizes Christian volunteers
to give the gift of sight to people in Guatemala. Since their
first trip in 2010, Dr. Langner’s teams have provided over
2500 vision screenings, providing new eyeglasses, reading
glasses and protective sunwear to everyone in need.

Please update your Chamber Membership Directory and Community
Directory, and welcome our new members and contacts at an upcoming meeting. And remember…it’s good business to do business with Chamber members.
Member News
Our next quarterly Member Orientation will take place on
October 4 at 8:00 am. Chamber Ambassadors will be in
attendance to offer an overview of the Roselle Chamber
and its activities. Attendance is not limited to new
members as we extend invitations to potential members
and other members who may have dropped off the radar
a bit. Whether this is a first-time meeting for new or
perspective members or a meeting to introduce a longstanding member business, we expect these meetings will
strengthen and grow our Chamber.
We thank our partner Roselle Bank & Trust for their
continued support in hosting these meetings. If you would
like to attend this meeting, or if you have any questions
regarding this program, please contact Gail at the Chamber
office. Space is limited and by invitation only!

Community Web Shop Inc., a web development firm
located in Roselle, has launched a new project to local
businesses called CommunityLookup.com. It’s goal is
to help local establishments stand out to consumers
online. “Coupon websites bring only temporary value to
a business, we wanted to create something that brought
a lasting value. We wanted to re-invent how consumers
search for and research local businesses. Plus it had to
be free.” said Ben Strahan, Founder of Community Web
Shop. CommunityLookup.com is currently adding local
establishments; all business owners are encouraged
to add their business locations today by visiting
CommunityLookup.com or by calling (847) 380-7350. To
learn more about this new product, please register for this
month’s Chamber membership dinner on September 18.
Comptroller Judy Baar Topinka recently saluted Lynfred
Winery, and applauded its contribution to Illinois agritourism. As part of the Office of the Comptroller’s “AgriTourism Day” at the Illinois State Fair in Springfield, Topinka
presented Agriculture leaders from throughout the state
with proclamations celebrating their achievements and
continuing dedication. Topinka specifically congratulated
Diane Koehler-Rasmussen and Valerie Koehler from Lynfred
Winery. Founded by Fred Koehler, considered by many to
be the father of the Illinois wine industry, Lynfred Winery
was opened in 1979 producing more than 5,000 gallons of
wine in 7 varieties.
Do you have news about your business that you want to share with
