How to Create a Powerful Personal Vision We fill our days with lots of activities, lots of thoughts, and lots of verbal and non-verbal communications with others. At the end of each day, however, we think we have accomplished little or nothing. We feel drained, frustrated, and upset. When we look back we note that we are not satisfied with most of the days, months, and years of our lives. Sounds familiar? Have you ever had such experience? I am sure your answer is most probably a “Yes”. Why is that? Why do we become frustrated and feel that we have not accomplished anything despite all the activities that we have had during our days? Have you ever thought about the reasons behind your dissatisfaction from life? Have you ever sat silently to audit yourself and your life and what the main reasons could be? If not, I encourage you to do so. Sit silently and perform an internal audit of your personal life and come up with a list of top five reasons. Whatever your reasons might be, if you dig down well, you can find the root cause. Do you know what the root cause of all your dissatisfaction in life is? The answer is simple: Lack of a Powerful Personal Vision. “Personal Vision??!!” you might say. “I had heard about vision in companies and businesses but not vision in my personal life!” you might reason. But believe it or not, Powerful Personal Vision (PPV) is the one thing that differentiates those who feel energized at the end of the day and those who don’t. Having a PPV in your personal life keeps your inner batteries fully charged 24/7. It provides you the fuel of passion and enthusiasm that drives you forward toward fulfilling your dreams and leaving a legacy behind when you depart from this world. A PPV gives you direction, connects you with your true (higher) self and the life force energy, and therefore opens many doors of wonderful possibilities for achieving what you are supposed to do in this life. Now, how can you create your own PPV that resonates within your soul and connects you to your soul power and your true purpose in life, one that energizes you during your day to day activities and encourages you to move forward enthusiastically despite all discouragements, setbacks, judgments, discriminations, and difficulties of physical life? Creating a PPV is a 5 step process that is explained below: Step 1: Interview Set aside some time to interview yourself by asking powerful questions from yourself. Most of the time, we don’t care what we “truly” want from life because we make ourselves very busy with our routine day-to-day activities and gradually believe that what we want cannot be attained. Asking powerful questions like the ones listed below can help you identify your passion. What can I provide to humanity so that generations after me can benefit from that? What specifically can I do for myself to make myself happier and more satisfied? What would I do if I knew I would never fail? What would I do if I had all the money that I wanted? What makes me excited and energetic? What are my strengths? Try to come up with answers that satisfy you internally. Don’t think about how you can achieve this or that. Just go with the flow and try not to spend lots of time thinking about what to write as your answers. Many times the first and quickest answer is the best one. Step 2: Imagine Now focus on your answers and imagine that you are what you want to be or you are doing what you truly want to do based on your answers in your self-interview. Observe your feelings and your energy level in your interactions with others. Imagine how it feels when you meet your ultimate goal; imagine how happy you are when you fulfill all your dreams. Step 3: Identify In the third step, identify the top three on your list based on the feelings that you had in the imagination process in step 2. Which role/action/task made you happier and more satisfied? Please note that in order to gain something of higher value to YOU, you may have to sacrifice something of less value. At the end of this process, write down your top 3 passions in 3 sentences. Your statements should be positive, powerful, and in present tense. Step 4: Integrate Now, combine your three statements from step 3 and come up with one powerful paragraph/statement. This statement should reflect the true essence of what makes YOU satisfied and fulfilled internally. Something that gives you joy when you read it. Something that makes you act right away. Don’t worry if it is far from reach because the ultimate goal or vision is not something that can be in our hands easily. We have to take massive actions to get there. We call this personal statement your Powerful Personal Life Vision or PPV. Step 5: Ignite The last step is to polish your PPV, print it, and read it every morning so that your subconscious mind takes in charge of achieving that. This way you ignite the fuel of your passion and enthusiasm which will drive you continuously toward fulfilling your PPV no matter how difficult the road might look like. But remember that vision without action is a daydream. So, have a strategic plan for step by step actions towards achieving your dreams.
