RMS PTO NEWS September 2011 How to Sign up for PTO E-mail If you want to receive E-mail from the PTO to keep abreast of PTO happenings and notices, please follow the below instructions. Send an E-mail from the E-mail account you want to add to the list to [email protected] If you wish to have your E-mail removed for the PTO list, please follow the below instructions. Send an E-mail from the E-mail account you want to remove from the list to [email protected] NOTE: Even if you are on Mr. Hollahan’s E-mail list, you must sign-up separately for the PTO E-mail list. Membership/Directory Drive Our annual membership/directory drive is ongoing. Our goal is $2500. Dues were reduced this year to $15/family. If you wish to become a member, please send your money to school with the membership form (attached to this letter) . Dues are used to support the PTO programs as well as scholarships for our children as they reach high school. The PTO and your children appreciate your support! Thank you for your contribution! Volunteer Opportunities We have instituted a volunteer recognition program this year. Please visit our website for volunteer opportunities and more information regarding our program. The volunteer sign up form for committees is at the bottom of the membership form. Student and parent volunteers have the opportunity to get rewards for volunteer service. Mrs. Strange (Student Council) is in need of some parent volunteers to help with counting the Magazine Drive orders. If you can help the dates are 9/16, 9/23, and 9/27. The time is from 8:30 to 10 AM. I am sure that any help during those hours would be appreciated. If you can donate some time, please contact us or Mrs. Strange directly. Thank you for your support. Richboro Middle School PTO 98 Upper Holland Road Richboro, PA 18974 September 7, 2011 Dear RMS Families, We hope that everyone had a fantastic summer vacation. We are anticipating a fun and exciting new school year. First we would like to welcome all our new families. We hope that you will become active in our PTO. We are here to help you adjust to a new school and welcome any questions or suggestions that you may have throughout the year. We have many exciting events and activities planned for our families this year. We realize that our children are becoming more independent and may not want their parents involved. However, the goal of the PTO this year is to provide more family centered activities to encourage family time together in a safe, fun environment. We sincerely hope that every family will join the PTO this year. Our objective is to foster the continued cooperation and communication between the home, school, parents, and teachers for the growth, education and overall welfare of the children and the community. Without your contributions we are unable to achieve our objective and goal. Due to the current economic situation, membership dues this year have been decreased to $15 per family. Your membership dues enter you into a drawing for a $100 Visa gift card to be held on October 5, 2011 at our Welcome Dinner. While we hope that membership dues will raise the majority of the money we need to run the events that we will sponsor, we will still need fundraising events throughout the year. Many of our fundraising events are passive events, meaning that you are helping us raise money thorough products that you already purchase. The many events and programs PTO sponsored throughout the year are only possible with the help and dedication of parent volunteers. As a new initiative this year, every volunteer (child and/or parent) will receive a “Certificate” to be displayed in the RMS building as a thank you for their time. Each person who volunteers will be entered into a monthly drawing for a prize. Your time and ideas are most welcome. Please consider volunteering some time, even if it is one hour. Many of our volunteer activities can be done at home. All time contributions are welcomed and appreciated by us and your children. In accordance with the Green Initiative from the Council Rock School District, we will be completely paperless this year. Please sign up for the e-mail list to receive important information.
