When travelling so far from home, loved ones might need to contact you in the event of an
emergency, or just to see if everything is going well.
From 7:00 a.m. to midnight, messages can be left with the person on duty at the Front Desk in the
Campus Residence (X 27222). The message will then be hand delivered to the individual's room.
Between midnight and 7:00 a.m., in case of an emergency, it would be possible to reach a participant
by calling the University Switchboard 1(905) 525-9140 asking for ‘Security’.
Before Leaving Home…
Make sure that you have all travelling documents required (passport or visa) before making your
journey to Hamilton, Ontario - Canada. It will speed things up coming through Canadian
Immigration.

For those participants travelling by air, don’t forget your passport!!! You must have a valid
passport if you are travelling by air between Canada and the United States.
Faxing:
McMaster Students Union will be offering FAX services to our registrants. They are located in
room B117A of the Student Centre, where the workshop will be held. Their FAX number is:
905-523-0107.
Clothing and Spending Money:
We would like to suggest that you bring casual apparel (blue jeans, shorts, sweats), as all courses and
social functions are informal - business apparel is optional. In the event that it might be a little cool
in the evening, a light sweater or wind breaker would be sufficient.
Folks have asked us how much money should they bring with them for the week, and this, of
course, is a personal preference. It has been recommended that you allow yourself about $40.00 to
$50.00 per day for your breakfasts, lunches and the odd dinner you will need to purchase.
Local Weather Conditions:
June through August are the summer months where the days are warm with an average temperature
of 25.2C (80F). Although the nights can be cool, the temperature rarely dips below 13.8C (58F). As
we tend to have some rain during this time, it may be wise to pack an umbrella
