OBJECTIVES:
At the end of this workshop program, participants should be able to:
• Describe the various aspects of interprofessional collaboration for eye care including the
role of interprofessional education (IPE) in enhancing the collaborative process / practice.
• Discuss using IPE for collaborative patient centered care to improve interprofessional
collaboration among eye care professional.
• Discuss the strategic roles of academic institutions, training programs and certifying
colleges in facilitating integration of IPE for collaborative patient centered care / practice
into eye health professional education process and quality eye health care delivery.
• Describe the practical approaches to co-manage the common eye surgical problems that
present to the primary-care physician including the knowledge and skills for ophthalmic
examination.
