Import Video Morae Manager Software Why would I import other videos?

How to Import Video Using
Morae Manager Software
Why would I import
other videos?
In addition to Morae recording
(.rdg) files, you can import
video files including .avi, wmv,
and .asf, into Morae Manager. So,
you can still analyze recordings
from field usability tests.
1. To import a video file
in Manager, choose File
> Import > Video.
(Fig. 1)
Will everything
still work the
same?
Video files created by an
application other than Morae
Recorder do not have the same
set of searchable RRT data
streams (i.e., mouse clicks, Web
page changes, application
events, etc.). However, you can
still set markers and create tasks
in these videos and incorporate
portions of these videos into
your highlight videos.

2. Browse to locate the video
to import. Click Open.
Then click OK.

3. Your video will then be
available for task and marker
logging. When you are ready
to save your project, select
File > Save Project As
and save your project to at
least 2 jump drives and the
IDEA Lab User laptop.
How to Create Graphs Using
Morae Manager Software
Why would I create
graphs?

of the recordings to represent
important data. You can share
these graphs in presentations
and reports.

How to Convert Video Using
Morae Manager Software
Why would I
convert videos?
Morae recording (.rdg) files can
only be played on computers
installed with Morae software.
You may wish to view your tests
on your own time outside of the
IDEA lab. Video files in .avi, wmv,
and .asf formats should play on
your PC or Mac.

include the audio and video
from your test, including the
picture-in-picture format you
see in Observer. Your video will
not include your logged tasks
and markers, though.

SOPs for video
clips and storyboards.

Full Motion Video (.wmv) provides
a good compromise between file
size and video quality.
Lossless Video (.avi) provides
the highest quality video, but may
increase file size, especially if the
video contains lots of motion.
Custom (.avi) allows you to fully
customize your production configuration.
6. Select the size of the produced
video. Click Next.
Fig. 3 Choose production options from the dialog box.
7. Select the destination folder for
your converted file. Name your new
file. Click Finish. (Fig. 4)
The video will begin rendering, and
once finished you will have the
option of playing your new video
file.
