Kline pitched Nottingham to a 15-5 win over Hightstown in a District One Tournament elimination game, which puts the Veterans Park crew back in action Tuesday night against township rival Hamilton. Kline also delivered the two-run single in the bottom of the fifth that invoked the 10-run mercy rule. And when a team is in the loser’s bracket trying to save pitching, every two innings saved is a help. Nottingham has now won three straight and faces rival Hamilton at 5:45 Tuesday night, as one township team will knock another from the tournament. Nottingham is already assured of a state berth as its hosting, but would love nothing better than to knock out Hamilton after the Switlik Gang did it to them as 14s last year. Hamilton forces township showdown with a win Salvatore and Ewing Playing its first game since being dropped into the elimination bracket, Hamilton came up with a 7-1 win over Ewing in a game that was a pitcher’s duel between Mike Glazewski and Mike Salvatore until Hamilton broke it open in the sixth inning. The victory gives this group of Hamilton players a chance to beat its rivals twice in the districts for the second straight year.
