Once You’re a Member
After you enroll:
ƒ
You’ll receive an Aetna Medicare Rx member ID card. It’s the only card you’ll present when you
have a prescription filled to get all the advantages of being an Aetna member.
ƒ
To have prescriptions filled, you can:
• Go to any network pharmacy – Such as Costco, CVS, HEB, Rite Aid, Target, Walgreens and
many more. (Call us or go to www.aetnamedicare.com to find pharmacies in our network.)
• Use our prescription drug mail order service – Save money on maintenance prescription
medications like those for high blood pressure and diabetes.
• Get help with hard-to-find medications – Aetna also operates its own Specialty Pharmacy for
ordering drugs that local retail pharmacies often do not stock because of their expense and/or
special handling requirements.
ƒ
When you fill your prescriptions, there is virtually no paperwork or claim forms. We work to make
using the benefits simple.
Remember …
ƒ
You must continue to pay any applicable Medicare Parts A or B premium if not otherwise paid for
under Medicaid or by another third party. This is in addition to the plan premium, if any, for your
Aetna coverage.
ƒ
Take advantage of the extra savings you can receive as a member – like discounts on eyeglasses,
vitamins and other products and services.
ƒ
We are available to assist you when you have questions or just want to know more about your
coverage. Call the toll-free number listed on your member ID card to contact us.

Benefits coverage is provided by Aetna Life Insurance Company, a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan
sponsor with a Medicare contract. Benefits, limitations, service areas, and premiums are subject to
change on January 1 of each year. See plan documents for a complete description of benefits,
exclusions, limitations, and conditions of coverage. Plan features are subject to change.
Aetna receives rebates from drug manufacturers that may be taken into account in determining Aetna’s
Preferred Drug List. Rebates do not reduce the amount a member pays the pharmacy for covered
prescriptions. Pharmacy clinical programs such as precertification, step therapy, and quantity limits may
apply to your prescription drug coverage.
Providers are independent contractors and are not agents of Aetna. Provider participation may change
without notice. Aetna does not provide care or guarantee access to health services. Discount programs
provide access to discounted prices and are not insured benefits.
Enrollees must use network pharmacies to receive plan benefits except under emergency circumstances.
Covered Part D prescription drugs are available at out-of-network pharmacies in special circumstances,
including illness while traveling within the United States but outside the plan’s service area where there
is no network pharmacy. An additional cost may be incurred for drugs received at an out-of-network
pharmacy.
You must be entitled to Medicare Part A and/or enrolled in Part B. You must reside in the Aetna
Medicare Prescription Drug Plan service area.
