How to: Perform a Clean Reinstallation of Thomson Data Analyzer on Windows XP Indications: If you are having a problem with persistent Invalid Activation or Repair code messages, you may need to uninstall Thomson Data Analyzer and manually remove residual license data from the computer. Before you begin: Make sure Windows Clock is configured with the correct Date and Time. Activation will fail if these settings are incorrect, and you may need to repeat this procedure. Make sure you have a valid registration code. You will need it to activate Thomson Data Analyzer after reinstallation. Copy any import filters, macros, thesaurus files, or *.vpt files you saved in your Thomson Data Analyzer installation directory, or its sub-directories to a safe location such as a network folder, or a flash drive. (For most Thomson Data Analyzer installations, this directory is the folder located at C:\Program Files\Thomson Data Analyzer\). This process must be completed by a user with “Administrator” user-permissions: To remove TDA license data from your computer: 1. Uninstall Thomson Data Analyzer from “Add/Remove Programs” on the Windows Control Panel. 2. Delete the Thomson Data Analyzer program’s installation folder (e.g. C:\Program Files\Thomson Data Analyzer) if it still exists. 3. Click the “Start” button Select “Run” and type: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data Press “Enter” to open the folder in Windows Explorer Note: This path may vary depending on your operating system locale. 4. Delete the “Thomson Data Analyzer” folder, if it exists 5. Click the “Start” button Select “Run” and type: “regedit” (without quotation marks) and press “Enter” to open the Windows Registry Editor 6. Delete the following keys, if they exist: - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SearchTech Thomson Data Analyzer\Thomson Data Analyzer\ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\010747E0-716A-11DE-8A39-0800200C9A66\ 7. Reinstall Thomson Data Analyzer and activate your license.
