How To Make Sure Your Wedding Is A Perfect Day

How To Make Sure Your
Wedding Is A Perfect Day
There is no more special and important
day for a couple than their wedding day.
It is a day of hope and expectation, of
love and happiness, and the ideal start
for your future days together. However,
with such an important day, there are
also a myriad of things that need to be
done or be prepared and it all needs to
come together at the same time. The
main thing is to ensure that you do not
let the stress get to you. Remember – it
is your day and you want to remember it
not for all the hassle you had arranging
it but for the spectacle it was when
it all came together and the happy
memories it created. For some people
this may mean handing to someone else
responsibility for the majority of the
planning, i.e. a wedding planner. This is
simply someone who organises things
for you. For most weddings, there is a
lot that needs to be arranged, planned
for, scheduled and prepared in advance,
such as all the catering, the celebrant,
reception, the venue, photographs,
entertainment, guests, accommodation,
cars, cakes, bridesmaids, best-man etc.
And that is to say nothing of associated
events such as stag nights, bridal
showers, hen nights, rehearsals and
such-like which are likely to interfere
with any planning sessions. Whether
you choose to hire a wedding planner
and arranger to organise everything
or whether you choose to plan and
arrange it all yourselves, the reality
of the situation is that as the wedding
day gets closer, you are likely to be so
involved with the situation and your
own emotional roller-coaster that some
of the arrangements are likely to be
missed, or made in a rush, amidst all of
the last minute panicking that always
occurs. You both certainly need to be
involved in all decision making, but the
details of implementing those decisions
should be delegated to someone else
who is able to take responsibility for
them. This can be a friend, a family
member, or a commercial planner who
has years of experience doing exactly
these tasks. The primary thing is that
you know you can trust them, you know
that you are still being involved in any
relevant decisions, and you know that
you don’t need to worry about all of the
fine details every day. This frees you
up so that as that special wedding day
approaches you can really focus on some
of the more immediate and personal
things, such as your own personal
preparation (dress, tuxedo, hair etc) as
well as more medium term plans (the
honeymoon etc), while being confident
that everything else is under control.
The couple getting married are not also
in a position (and don’t have the spare
time) to be checking that the caterers
have got everything delivered to the
right place at the right time, that the
entertainment is all set up and
ready to go at the reception,
that all the guests have been
met at the airport and
transported to the
respective motels or
accommodation and all the other
many things that need to happen
simultaneously while you are having
the photos taken. So plan your wedding
well in advance, find someone reliable to
delegate nearly all of the responsibility
to, and then try to relax and enjoy that
special day as best you can. A magical
wedding day, surrounded by friends,
family, and all your loved ones will last
in memory and through
photographs forever.

Here Comes The Bride
Although living together is more socially
acceptable than a few years ago, 60 per cent
of co-habiting couples still get married after
a few years. They can do this for various
reasons – because they think it’s the right
time to cement their commitment to each
other, they would like to start a family
together or for the reason that they would
like to celebrate their happiness together
with their families. There are a lot of

preparations to make when getting married
– there are many things which are thought to
be the most important by different people;
the ring from the local jewellers, the dress,
the venue, even the honeymoon. In fact, the
whole process of arranging a wedding can
be so daunting that you might want to use a
wedding planner to ensure that every little
detail is covered as this will make planning
and arranging things a lot simpler. The most
important thing is to plan the ceremony itself
and to do this you will need to contact your
local registration office for current costs as
costs for weddings do vary depending on
the venue you want to be married in and
the time of year you want to get married.
You will also need to contact your wedding
venue, whether it is a church, registration
office, hotel or even somewhere more exotic
and unusual. The wedding dress is one of the
most important items you will buy or hire for
your wedding and it will probably be one of
the priciest. The whole process of purchasing
or hiring a wedding dress, matching it to the
bridesmaids’ outfits, your mother’s outfit not
to mention the suits can be daunting, but it
is achievable. You will need to visit a number
of wedding clothes shops with your potential
husband, mother and the bridesmaids to
arrange a look for the wedding that you
will all be happy with. You will also want to
contact a florist for some flowers to be sent
to you and you will want to make sure they
co-ordinate with the dresses and suits you
have selected. A cake-maker will also need to
be contacted so you can arrange a wedding
cake; furthermore, the wedding stationery
(invites, table placemats etc.), gift lists and a
photographer will need to be arranged. You
can either make up your gift list yourself, or
you can register to an online shop or store
and set one up through them. After the main
event has taken place, you may well want to
arrange a honeymoon with your partner; for
example, you might want to visit a romantic
restaurant or hotel or whisk them away

Wedding cakes can make a big statement and impress your
guests. The cake tends to be one of the main focuses of the
wedding reception, so take your time selecting the right
cake for you and your guests. You need to ask yourself a
few questions before going out looking for a cake. How
much are you willing to spend and how big does the cake
need to be to accommodate all of your wedding guests. A
few things to consider, how do you want the cake to look?
Think about the style and colour. If you’re looking to match
the colour and theme of the wedding then think about
subtle touches of colour in the decoration. Accessorize,
make sure you have your sugar flowers, ribbons, cake
toppers and candles in your budget, your cake will not
look quite so special without one or more of these. If
you’re planning on giving as a desert then the taste is very
important.
If the cake is simply for decoration purposes then neither
the taste nor the size of the cake matters much.
Fruit filling is traditional but there are plenty of other tasty
fillings out there just make sure to remember your guests
with allergies and most importantly don’t forget to enjoy
your big day!

Food For Your Wedding
When it comes to food, you will want
to make sure that you offer your guests
the best your budget affords for your
wedding. You have several options
when it comes to serving your guests
food. You can choose to have a morning
wedding followed by a luncheon, cocktails,
canapés reception or a full dinner. What
you choose depends greatly upon your
budget as well as how many guests you
are expecting to the wedding. If you are
having an early wedding you can have
a luncheon for guests who attend the
church. Many couples today are choosing
to have a luncheon instead of the full
wedding reception celebration as this is a
great way to save on costs. You can have
your wedding luncheon at a venue close
to where you are married. In keeping
with the theme, you may want to choose
traditional English fare for the luncheon
food. Having finger food and cocktails is
another way that you can entertain your
guests for the wedding. With a traditional
wedding, you will have a reception hour
that includes cocktails and finger foods.
Guests will greet the reception party and
mingle with one another until it is time
for dinner. Many couples who get married
later in the evening or earlier are having
just cocktails and canapés as their food.
If you decide to go this route, you have
to be certain that it is not close to dinner
time and that the reception is short. Of
course the most common is the traditional
wedding dinner which can consist of any
type of meal of your choosing. If you
have your wedding in a hall or a wedding
venue, you can speak to the venue
operator about what type of food will be
served. In most cases, they will have a
menu from which you can select foods
to be served to your guests. If you are
having your wedding outside in a garden,
in true country fashion, you will have to
have a caterer bring the meal. This usually
consists of a buffet style service in which
each guest gets up and helps themselves.
This is usually less costly than a formal,
sit down dinner. When you are planning
your wedding, food is one of the most
important choices you will make. The
type of food that you serve as well as the
way that it is served depends upon your
budget as well as the amount of guests you
are having to your wedding,.

A Magical
Winter Wedding
Dreaming of a winter wedding? Who
can blame you, they are without a
doubt, super glamorous, stylish and
truly magical. With lots of preparation
and clever ideas your winter wedding
will be a wonderland to remember
forever. Romantic and cosy venues are
the key to creating a warm and inviting
atmosphere. Think of atmospheric
candle-lit castles complete with
roaring open log fires, glorious historic
buildings with high ceilings and original
beams surrounded by acres of unspoilt
countryside and lakes, enchanting
churches amidst the most beautiful
gardens you have ever seen or simply
wonderfully charming hotels and lodges
set in secluded gardens. All of these
make for a very special wedding, unique
to you and your loved one. Transform
your winter venue into a magical grotto
of twinkling lights, flickering candles
and seasonal colours. Winter is the
perfect time for seasonal favourites like
smoked salmon, Palma ham and smoked
sun-dried tomato bruschetta or warming
winter soup entrees. Follow these with
roast lamb or beef, rich desserts and
cheese boards and one of my favourite
winter necessities, mulled wine! You
may wish to make the most of the early
winter evenings and wow your guests
with a fireworks display. With the sun
setting as early as 4.15pm, a firework
display timed to coincide with your
first toast as husband and wife will
make your champagne reception truly
unforgettable. Keep warm and stylish
with beautiful accessories from faux
fur boleros, shrugs and capes to bride’s
winter boots and willies.
Winter wedding flower arrangements
featuring seasonal elements such as
pinecones, holly and evergreen boughs
add festive touch to your wintery
celebration. Good luck, enjoy your big
day and best wishes for your future
together.

Congratulations!
We believe that your wedding
should be the very best day of your
life and in order to achieve the
numerous things needed to make
your day come together, you need
to be calm and organised. It can
all seem a little daunting; rings,
dresses, flowers, venue, caterers,
invitations, holiday, photographer,
the cake and so on but I can assure
you that there will be lots of fun
along the way too. There are lots
to consider, think about and decide
upon but just so long as you pace
yourself all your hard work will
pay off. The thing with weddings
are that you can go as crazy as you
like when it comes to perfection
and uniqueness from custom made
rings to tying the knot on the peak
of Mount Everest or go as simple
and fuss free as you so please.
When looking for the dress of your
dreams make it a special day out
and when searching for the perfect
venue keep an open mind you may
just surprise yourself. Wedding
fayres and exhibitions are a great
way to see local wedding services
and products at one event, giving
you an insight which is invaluable
to anyone planning a wedding so
make sure you keep your eye out
for those too. Enjoy your wedding
planning journey and good luck for
your big day.
