® • What is PQRS? PQRS stands for Physician Quality Reporting Initiative. It is a voluntary program that provides a financial incentive to physicians and other eligible professionals (Occupational and Physical Therapists practicing in treatment settings that are subject to the Therapy Cap) who successfully report quality measures. The eligible professional must gather three approved measures on at least 80% of appropriate patients and submit the specified quality‐data codes for services paid under the MPFS and provided during the reporting period either through claims‐based reporting /or/ Registry‐based reporting. Eligible professionals may earn an incentive payment of up to .5% of their total allowed charges for MPFS covered professional services furnished during the reporting period. • What is a PQRS Registry? A PQRS Registry is a CMS approved organization that can submit quality measure numerator / denominator data on PQRS measures on behalf of their participants. This is an alternative that eligible professionals can choose in lieu of submitting PQRS data via claims‐based reporting. • How does FOTO’s PI Software facilitate gathering the PQRS Measures? There are ten (10) applicable PQRS measures that can be collected utilizing the FOTO PI software. Three of these can be collected for claims‐based reporting or registry reporting. Seven of these measures can be collected and submitted via Registry‐based reporting only.
