Mrs. Lynne Ann Borchers, Principal
Welcome to what is certain to be another great school year at
Walnut Grove Elementary School. The school has been a buzz
all summer long as the custodial staff has worked to prepare the
classrooms for teachers and students. Sneak a Peek is on Tuesday, August 13 from 4:00 – 5:30. I hope you are able to take
advantage of this opportunity to meet the teachers. You will
see a few new faces and many faces in different places. Fifth,
third, and first grades have been moved to prepare for the possibility of construction throughout the school year. Rachel Loner is joining our team in 4th grade, Cristin Gillis is joining our
team as the Resource Teacher, Renita Penn will be our Library
Media Specialist one day a week replacing Krista Hardy, Karen
Brown is now teaching Kindergarten, Maegan Lathrop is now
teaching 1st grade, and Samantha Newman and Chris Newman
are now job sharing in 4th grade. All K – 2nd grade classrooms
will still be equipped with a Mimio Teach, every 3rd - 5th grade
level will have 3 iPads, and every 1st – 5th grade level has a
Livescribe Pen in addition to the district standards for technology in each classroom.
We will continue reaching for the STARS at Walnut Grove. Students are recognized for being Safe, Trustworthy, Accountable,
Respectful, and Successful. Students can earn STARbucks by
demonstrating expected behaviors. We will also continue to
focus on building relationships in the classroom and throughout the building. I hope that you will reinforce our efforts at
home.
I look forward to working with each of you to create the best
educational experience for your child. I believe that students
can reach their potential when we all work together.
If you ever have any questions, concerns, or positive comments,
please contact me @ 780-7710 or

1.
All medication to be taken by the student at school must be left in the school office and must be in the original prescription container.
This includes Tylenol/Advil/Aspirin, cough drops, any over the counter medications (oral and topical).
2.
A note from the prescribing doctor MUST accompany the medication for it to be given at school.
This information must be on the note:
Medication to be given, dosage, time to be given, method of administration and condition which makes medication necessary.
3. If a student must take a medication more than three times a day or at a specific time of day, he is eligible to take the medication at school.
