What is terrorism?
Terrorism is the use of violence
to inflict fear or harm to citizens
TERRORISM
 Terrorism is practiced by both Israelis and
Palestinians .
 The Israelis are the Mossad
 The Palestinians are many but the most known is the
hammas
How They Attack
 The Hammas: Suicide bombings, Bus bombs they go
for heavily populated areas.
 The Mossad: Considered Police but are very strict
and often shoot to kill if there is resistance to arrest.
Peace Talks
 There has been many peace talks after wars to stop
terrorism.
 They have all failed and end up with more problems
Goals for Terrorists
 To have freedom of religion(Israelis)
 To have everyone covert to Muslim (Hammas)
 To have the freedom of living wherever they want.
(Both)
 For TOTAL DESTRUCTION (Hammas)
How are Terrorist slowing down the chance of
peace?
 Terrorists in Israel are getting financial funding from
Al-Queda, Hezbullah, and the Taliban.
 They have too many willing people, and the attacks
lead to wars, which slow down Peace talks.

History of Palestine


In 7000 BC Jericho became the first place in Palestine where humans built dwellings
for themselves and they also built a ten-meter high wall surround the city. So Jericho
is considered to be the oldest continuously inhabited city on earth.


the region has a long and tumultuous history as a crossroads for religion, culture,
commerce, and politics. Human history in the region goes back 500,000 years or
more, with civilization reaching the region shortly after the first city-states in
Mesopotamia

Since that time the region has been controlled by numerous different peoples, including Ancient
Egyptians, Canaanites, Ancient Israelites, Assyrians, Babylonians, Ancient Greeks, Romans,
Byzantines, the Sunni Arab Caliphate, the Shia Fatimid Caliphate, Crusaders, Ayyubids Mameluks,
Ottomans, the British and modern Israelis

Legal Rights:
In Israel there isn't a constitution but a basic set of laws and usually they
don’t apply to Palestine People
Obstacles
 They believe that the Israelis took their home and
that the only way to solve it would be to use
violence and destruction of Israel.
Many Palestinians nowadays believe that Israel is
not really interested in reaching an arrangement,
but rather interested in continuing to control the
entire territory from the Mediterranean Sea to the
Jordan River

Obstacles
 Israel doesn’t think that Palestinians should exist.
They have mistreated Palestinians as much as they
have mistreated them.
 Nether people have respect for each other.
Solution
 Either divide the land evenly or one side will have
to wipeout the other.

Religions in Jerusalem
 Three main religions in Jerusalem:
 Christianity
 Judaism
 Islam
http://liztagami.wordpress.com/2010/0
8/09/yerushalayim-al-quds-jerusalemthe-christian-quarter/
 Similarities between the religions
 One God
 Prophets
 Angels and Demons
 Sacred Text
 No one is willing to accept other religions, but rather
they all claim Jerusalem to be their own rightful land
Problem with Jerusalem
 Judaism claims Jerusalem should be theirs because:
 The site of the ancient and holy Solomon’s Temple
 Serves as a place to mourn the destruction of Solomon’s Temple
 It is the only capital of the Jewish state
 The center of Jewish life for over 3 thousand years ever since it was
conquered by King David
 God’s giving their Holy Land back to them
 Islam claims Jerusalem should be theirs because:
 Believes it is the place where Mohammed rose to Heaven

Where he got instructions regarding Islam laws
 Christianity claims Jerusalem should be theirs because:
 Location of Jesus Christ’s childhood and adulthood


It’s where he preached and where his resurrection took place
One of the first Christian communities was located in Jerusalem
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/worldmiddle-east-11096293
Obstacles
 No one is willing to
accept other religions
 They all claim
Jerusalem to be their
own
 Not willing to share
 Aren’t Open Minded
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east11096293
Solutions
 Jerusalem can be given
to the United Nations

Become a Multi- National
City
 City needs a stable
sovereign

How can the problem be fixed?
 Split the country into two states united by one
federal government
 United States of Israel and Palestine
 Both states could limit immigration how they
pleased
 Votes for government can count for their respective
countries no matter where they live

That way, Jews couldn’t vote for Palestinian government and
vice versa
 Each contribute 50- 50 to National Parliament
Solution Cont…
 Will be split based off of where the most of each group live
 Voting will be based off of what state you belong to rather
than where you live
 United Nations gets control over Jerusalem
 This will work because both groups can stay live in the
country they claim to be theirs
 Both Israel and Palestine will be included in the country’s
name
 Each group will have to learn respect and accept each other,
even if they don’t necessarily agree with the other’s beliefs
