Cleaning and Maintenance Instructions

Cleaning Recommendations
Powder Coat Finishes:
• It is recommended that powder coatings are cleaned with a solution of neutral detergents and warm water,
using a non-abrasive
abrasive cloth, sponge or extra soft bristle brush. Abrasive cleaners and/or cloths should be
avoided because they can scratch the coating surface.
• Some commercial cleaning products can damage the powder coating film. We strongly recommend that
these are tested on an area that is not visible to determine if the coating appearance is affected.
• NEVER use solvents (such as acetone, Methyl Ethy
Ethyll Ketone (MEK), paint thinners) to clean powder
coated finishes. These solvents are very damaging to powder coat and will soften and/or dissolve the
surface of the coating, diminishing its shine and durability or removing the finish altogether.
• For cases where the soap and water is not effective on heavy soils, isopropyl alcohol (IPA) or mild mineral
spirits may be tried, however, we strongly recommend that this is tested on an area that is not visible to
determine if the coating appearance is affected.
• Alll cleaning material should be wiped off immediately to avoid any staining.
Stainless Steel Finishes:
• All stainless steel products may be routinely cleaned with a solution of mild detergents and warm water.
For brushed surface finishes, the cleaning strok

es should follow the grain (polish lines), not across it.
• To remove fingerprints, use soap and warm water, or proprietary spray cleaning fluids containing an organic
solvent (such as acetone, alcohol, and methylated spirits).
• For stubborn stains, use mild
d cleaning solutions, ensuring that any proprietary cleaners state their
compatibility with stainless steel. Mild household cream cleaning agents containing carbonate additions are
usually effective.
• Hard water scales (lime deposits) are best removed with one part vinegar to three parts water. Soak
affected area in solution and brush to loosen.
• After cleaning, rinse with clean water. For best results, wipe dry the cleaned surface using overlapping
strokes, following the grain (for brushed surfaces).
• A damp cloth or chamois are suitable for removing normal soiling, fingerprints, and some stains. Use a soft
bristle brush (such as a toothbrush) for more stubborn stains. For patterned finishes, use a soft nylon brush.
Non-stainless
stainless steel based scouring pads, cleaning wool or wire brushes must not be used on stainless
steel.
• Cleaning agents that should NOT be used on stainless steel are those containing chloride, especially
hydrochloric acid; hypochlorite bleaches; silver
silver-cleaning solutions.
If any of these are applied accidentally, rinse off immediately with plenty of fresh water.
Wood Finishes:
•
All wood finishes are recommended to be cleaned regularly with mild detergent and warm water. Rinse
with clean water and wipe dry.
