Staff's Recommended Board Motion:
Confirm the Administrative Order outlining the Reorganization of the County Administrator's Office,
and consent to the proposed appointments. The cost of this reorganization is covered within the County
Administrator's FY 14 Operating Budget.
Financial Impact Statement:
The cost of this reorganization is covered within the County Administrator's FY 14 Operating Budget.
Background:
The positions of Deputy County Administrator of Public Safety and Community Services and Deputy
County Administrator of Infrastructure and Development Services will be retitled to Chief Development
& Infrastructure Services Administrator and Chief Human Services Officer.
The former Chief Administrative Officer position will be retitled to the Chief Communications Officer.
The Chief Financial Administrator will remain the same, however, two additional positions will be
created, entitled Chief Information and Innovation Officer and Chief Deputy County Administrator.
Additionally, there will also be the Operations and Legislative Affairs Officer reporting to the County
Administrator. Four Assistant County Administrators will report to the Chief Deputy County
Administrator.
There will be an increase in number of Executive Team Members from four to six.
This new organization will focus on continued customer service through smaller business units,
continuing with streamlined operations and core mission, with focus remaining on providing superior
customer service.

Effective on the date shown above, executive positions in the County Administrator’s
Office will be reorganized as provided for in Article 111, Section 1, Ordinance #06-06.
The new organization is intended to facilitate cross-organizational cooperation, where
Departments and other organizational units are consistently only two steps away from the
County Administrator.
The County Administrator’s Executive Team consists of the following
