Project types include skateparks, parks and recreation projects, open spaces, golf courses, residential, commercial and industrial. Troy’s designs have been implemented throughout the Portland area, across the United States and abroad. He has designed and overseen a wide array of projects, ranging from recreational parks, nature parks, skate parks, education facilities, commercial complexes, residential developments and single lot landscapes, industrial parks, public works projects, and golf courses. We presented a document showing the current irrigation system deficiencies and recommended solutions with an accurate material cost and estimated construction cost. We also provided landscape design services for the casino site, water feature design and GPS mapping services for an accurate as-built plan of the site. Wildhorse Resort & Casino, Pendleton, OR Newell Ranch Project, Roseburg, OR Client: Frank Newell Troy Mears: Irrigation Designer/Landscape Architect Mears Design Group provided a complete landscape and irrigation design included site construction assessment and audit. The site includes two acres of landscape and automated irrigation and five acres of irrigated pasture land. The site irrigation limitations are controlled by a minimal supply well including two 2500 gallon storage tanks. The design was critical to account for approximately seven acres of irrigated landscape and the ability to provide sufficient water throughout the site during the high demand months. Newell Ranch Project, Roseburg, OR 45 Degree Central Development, Beaverton, OR Client: MLG @ Murray Village, LLC Troy Mears: Irrigation Designer/Consultant The 26 plus acre residential and commercial development was designed to meet high irrigation efficiency standards as required by the local jurisdictions. The site irrigation design when complete will be run from a central contral system utilizing a weather station to provide effient calculation of evapotranspiration, rain and wind sensing keeping water use to a minimum. We are currently providing irrigation auditting services to assure the client the system meets designed efficiency. 45 Degree Central, Beaverton, OR Hidden Creek Polo Club, West Linn, Oregon Client: Hidden Creek Polo, LLC Troy Mears: Irrigation Designer/Landscape Architect Hidden Creek Polo is housed on an 87 acre site, which includes four polo fields, each of different size and a 9-hole executive golf course. As irrigation designer we provided a decorder based irrigation system, which irrigates the entire golf course and common areas. The polo fields are irrigated utilizing large water reels utilizing the same mainline as the golf course and common areas. We also assisted in designing the size and layout of the irrigation pond and pump station. Hidden Creek Polo & Golf Club West Linn, OR Irrigation Design & Consulting - Statement Of Qualifications | 2012 P 4 of 7 Baker Ranch, Sisters, OR Client: David Baker Troy Mears: Landscape Architect/Irrigation Consultant As project Landscape Architect Troy was responsible for development of the site master plan of this 80 acre ranch property. The site included location of a residence, two mile trail system, coral locations, two landscape ponds equaling 3.5 million gallons, proposed driveway location, 500+ tree layout, irrigation system for 64 acres and low voltage lighting design. Troy continued with the development of the construction documents upon the master plan approval. RedTail Golf Course, Portland, OR Baker Ranch, Sisters, OR NE Veterans Drive Streetscape, Hillsboro, OR Client: City of Hillsboro Troy Mears: Irrigation Designer/Consultant Mears Design Group worked closely with the City of Hillsboro in developing the streetscape irrigation design that will be controlled by an irrigation central control system. This project incorporates a booster pump and high efficiency heads which will limit water loss throughout the growing season. We provided a design and installation irrigation audit during the first phase of construction. A-dec Campus, Newberg, OR NE Veterans Drive, Hillsboro, OR Client: A-dec Troy Mears: Project Manager/Landscape Architect Mears Design Group prepared landscape design, drainage design and irrigation design for various small projects within the A-dec campus. The scope of services included updating the existing aged landscape, incorporating circulation patterns, drainage design and the development of an efficient irrigation system. We prepared an existing irrigation assessment and audit of the sites system and are currently working on projects to make their irrigation water use more efficient including sustainable plantings. A-dec Campus, Newberg, OR Athletic Field Irrigation Design & Control Client: Portland Public Schools Troy Mears: Irrigation Designer/Consultant Mears Design Group prepared and provided central control irrigation design subsurface drainage design, construction details and specification for four of their high school athletic fields. Upon finalizing the construction documents we provided assistance during the bidding phase and oversaw the installation of the projects. Field irrigation assessment and auditing was completed upon installation of irrigation system. The school district is enjoying green playable fields with less irrigation costs than previous years. We continue to provide assistance for the irrigation system. Irrigation Design & Consulting - Statement Of Qualifications | 2012 Wilson High School, Portland, OR P 5 of 7 The NiNes at RiverRidge Golf Course, Eugene, Oregon Client: RiverRidge Golf Course Troy Mears: Irrigation Designer/Consultant As irrigation designer we created a fully automated decoder based irrigation system for the new 9-hole executive course and a 9-hole par 3 course. Our services included: Irrigation design, cost estimates, water window calculations and GPS mapping. We utilized GPS mapping to create a base plan for design and asbuilt record drawings upon completion of the project. The Nines at RiverRidge, Eugene, OR RedTail Golf Course, Portland, Oregon Client: City of Portland Troy Mears: Irrigation Designer/Consultant As irrigation designer we provided a decoder based irrigation design, details and specification to the City of Portland for the construction of the new redesigned Redtail Golf Course. We also provided limited construction administration services during construction. At the time of construction Redtail Golf Course was the first decoder based irrigation system in the Pacific Northwest. After construction was complete we provided GPS mapping services for an accurate as-built record drawing. RedTail Golf Course Portland OR Columbia Tech Center, Vancouver, Washington Client: PacTrust Troy Mears: Irrigation Designer/Consultant Columbia Tech Center is a 400 acre Corporate Park that has been an ongoing project since 1997. The site consists of eight (8) water features, multiple commercial & retail buildings, Neighborhood Park, school, hotel and the Nautilus World Headquarters. Project scope included construction documents for all landscape and irrigation design. All irrigation utilizes a Rain Bird Maxicom central control system, which is monitored by a third party off-site. Columbia Tech Center Vancouver WA Tektronix Campus, Beaverton, Oregon Client: Tektronix Troy Mears: Irrigation Designer/Consultant A 132 acre campus, where we created landscape and irrigation design, including design development, construction documents and construction administration for a variety of projects selected for renovation. All newly renovated projects were designed to accommodate the Rain Bird Maxicom central control system.
