DIELINE REQ UIREMENT S Dieline files must adhere to the following requirements: (Submittin g die lines that do not adhere to these requirements may delay packa g in g production and vendor may incur additional costs) File Format File must be submitted as Adobe Illustrator CS3 files or earlier versions accompanied by hard copy. A PDF saved at 100% size should be included with the illustrator file. Scale Electronic dieline file must be submitted at 100% size. Drawing Integrity • Dieline drawin g must be complete and final. • Corner points should meet. • Curves should be smo oth. • Lines should be drawn at a thickness of no more than 1 point. • Indicate folds and scores with dashed lines. Indicate trims and cuts with solid lines. Dimensions • Dieline must contain dimensions for overall packa g e size and panel sizes. • Dimensions may be depicted in inches or metrics. Orientation The orientation of the packa g e must be labeled on the file. Examples: “FRONT”, “TOP”, “BACK”, BOTTOM”, “SIDE” Package View Dieline must depict the outside view of the packa g e (area to be printed). Glue Flaps (box, window box and wrap label) Glue flaps should be positioned so no sea ms show on the primary display (front) panel. Bleed and No-ink / No-varnish Areas • The areas on the packa g e which are NOT to receive any ink or varnish should be clearly labeled. • Indicate bleed (the outer ed g e of ink covera g e ) on all die lines. Copy-Clear and Live Areas • Product placement and die cuts must be labeled to indicate the live area for copy and graphics. • If known, indicate any area where copy is not permitted (due to substrate or packa g e assembly parameters). • Date code / Lot and expire area should be labeled to indicate that it is a no ink or varnish area.
