Basic Differences We provide KYOCERA Mobile Print as a way to print from mobile devices. So how is AirPrint different from KYOCERA Mobile Print? One of the features of AirPrint is that users do not need to install additional application to their mobile devices and users can easily print from any application they are using. When using KYOCERA Mobile Print, users first need to open the application then reach to the document they want to print. AirPrint does not require these cumbersome steps. On the other hand, there are pros of using KYOCERA Mobile Print over AirPrint as well. KYOCERA Mobile Print can also be used for mobile scanning. In addition to this, KYOCERA Mobile Print can select the specific print settings where AirPrint only provides a few options for print settings. Based on the comparison above, we could say that for those users who just want to print the page they are viewing without specific print setting, for example webpage printing, we could recommend them AirPrint. For those that would like to print many documents that need the specific print setting, white paper for example, we could recommend them KYOCERA Mobile Print. Please see the comparison chart below which summarizes the information above. Printing office documents takes quite some time. The internal testing results1 at KDC solutions planning department show that it takes about 6 minutes to print 12 pages of PowerPoint presentation, about 1 minute for 5 pages of Word document. (this is just a reference to give you an idea) Also, the layout does not come out as you expect—words and charts are sometimes overlapped, giving users difficulty to read. (due to iOS font limitation) However, please note that this is not the only case for our devices, it also happens with competitor’s AirPrint. If you would like to print out documents, we recommend saving it as pdf first then print out. 1 Test Environment: ECOSYS FS-4300DN, iPhone5, iOS 6.0.1 Word file: 2.4MB, PPT file: 3.8MB 5 Kyocera AirPrintTM compatibility - Software Information How to Use AirPrint * To use AirPrint, the mobile device should be connected to the same network as the KYOCERA AirPrint-enabled MFPs and Printers.
