Jan. 2013 — 10M — VSD 845.1 Expanded-Use Antique Vehicle/Motorcycle Plates • To qualify for Expanded-Use Antique Vehicle/Motorcycle License Plates, motor vehicles and motorcycles must be 25 years old. Firefighting vehicles must be at least 20 years old. • An antique vehicle may be a “bona fide replica ”— an exact copy of the original in design, frame and mechanical operation. “Fascimiles” — close, but not exact, reproductions of the original — do not qualify for Antique plates. • During the months of January-March and NovemberDecember, vehicles displaying Expanded-Use Antique Vehicle plates may only be driven to and returning from an antique show or exhibition, service station or demonstration. • During the months of April-October, vehicles registered as an Expanded-Use Antique Vehicle may be driven on the highways without being subject to the restrictions of standard Antique Vehicle plates. • Expanded-Use Antique Vehicle/Motorcycle License Plates have a staggered expiration and must be renewed annually. • Applications and Expanded-Use Antique Verification forms are available at your local Secretary of State facility or by contacting: Secretary of State, Non-Standard Plates Section, 501 S.
