core of one of the finest research libraries in the world, established a splendid
art collection, and created an array of botanical gardens with plants from a
geographic range spanning the globe.

estate including the world renowned galleries and gardens. Visitors will learn
how Henry and Arabella Huntington turned their San Marino Ranch into a world famous cultural landmark
near Pasadena.
Library: At the heart of The Huntington is the Library, which contains
more than 6 million manuscripts, books, photographs and other works
in the fields of American and British history, literature, art, and the
history of science, medicine, and technology. The Library Exhibition Hall

manuscript of Chaucer’s The Canterbury Tales (c.1410); an original
Gutenberg Bible in vellum from the year 1455; a world-class collection
of the early editions of Shakespeare’s work; and original letters of Washington, Jefferson, Franklin, and
Lincoln.
Art Collections: The Huntington Art Gallery, originally the
Huntington residence, contains one of the most
comprehensive collections in this country of 18th- and
19th-century British and French art. It serves as home to
two of the most famous paintings in the world,
Gainsborough’s Blue Boy and Lawrence’s Pinkie.
The Huntington’s American art collection includes works
from the 1690s to the 1950s, including important paintings
such as Mary Cassatt’s Breakfast in Bed, Frederic Edwin Church’s Chimborazo, Edward Hopper’s The Long
Leg, and John Singer Sargent’s Portrait of Pauline Astor.

Day 5 – Los Angeles
Daytime options in Los Angeles:
LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION…! (Movie Making) – based on 4 hours
Your group will go behind the lens to produce their very own short films! This
is the ultimate teambuilding experience, giving everyone the opportunity to
tackle the many jobs associated with motion picture production (writer,
director, cinematographer, talent, boom operator, basically everything but the
caterer and editor!). At the onset, the entire group will experience ―Film 101‖,
designed to educate the participants in an entertaining fashion about film lingo
(slate, boom, best boy, grip, etc.). The group will then be divided into teams
of approximately twelve to thirteen people each. Each team will be told they
are going to make their own short films with the exact same guidelines:
Each film cannot exceed three minutes with a maximum of five scenes
Each group will be given an identical ―Cast of Characters‖
Every person in each group must appear on screen for at least five seconds
Identical Script Specifications (each film must have a ―romantic‖ scene, a fight scene, confusion
about a lost item, etc…)
Identical props
Snippets of random dialogue that must be used and justified within the context of each film (ex:
―Where did that lizard come from?!‖)
Each team will be given a professional grade
video camera, boom (our staff will make sure they
are used properly), clap board, costumes, props,
cue cards, etc. They will all have a specific
location in which to shoot, and each group will be
encouraged by our staff to make sure that
everyone has the opportunity to direct, operate
the camera, boom, etc.
Each three minute film will be screened later that
night at the dinner at the Grammy Museum. After
all the movies have been viewed they will give out
awards for Best Commercial, Actor, or anything you’d like!
-ORIt’s Only Rock & Roll - Make Your Own Music Videos – based on 4 hours
Your team goes behind the microphone and behind the lens to produce their very own Music Video! This
is a terrific, creative teambuilding experience, giving everyone in your group the opportunity to write a
song and then shoot the video, being both behind and in front of the cameras.
At the onset the group will be divided into teams of approximately twelve to
thirteen people. Each team will randomly draw the name of a well-known
song out of a hat (or box or some type of container with a bottom and four
sides). Each team will then be given a boom box containing the CD with their
chosen song. Each CD will contain two tracks: one well-known version of the
song, and one music track (with music only, no lyrics).

The Getty Center sits on a hilltop in the Santa Monica Mountains, just off the San Diego Freeway. From
there, visitors can take in the disparate aspects of Los Angeles's landscape—the Pacific Ocean, the San
Gabriel Mountains, and the vast street-grid of the city. Inspired by the relationship between these
elements, architect Richard Meier designed the complex to highlight both nature and culture.
The Getty Center presents the Getty's collection of Western art from the Middle Ages to the present
against a backdrop of dramatic architecture, tranquil gardens, and breathtaking
views. You will be able to enjoy European paintings, drawings, manuscripts,
sculptures and decorative arts, as well as European and
American photographs.
The Central Garden, created by renowned artist Robert
Irwin, lies at the heart of the Getty Center. The 134,000square-foot design features a natural ravine and tree-lined
walkway that leads the visitor through an extraordinary
experience of sights, sounds, and scents.
Enjoy a plated lunch in the museum’s private dining room.
