TO SATURDAY’S ELECTION
Saturday is Election Day:
■ Polls for the Nov. 17 election will open at 6 a.m. and
close at 8 p.m. There are no changes in polling places
since the primary.
■ To vote you need to be a registered voter and have a
photo ID, such as a driver’s license, that contains your
name, signature and address.
■ Voters without proper identification can still cast their
ballot by filling out a affidavit at their polling place.
■ Once they enter the voting booth, voters have three
minutes to cast their ballot. They are permitted to bring a
sample ballot or other assistance with them into the
booth.
■ A limited number of sample ballot are available from
the clerk of courts office in room 34 of the courthouse or
can be download from the Secretary of State’s office Web
site at www.sos.louisiana.gov.
■ If voters need physical assistance voting, they need to
provide a doctor’s certificate of need or a impaired mobility certificate from the Department of Motor vehicles.
