Instructions for Bingo Games for Phonemic Awareness www.AlphabetWorkout.com How to Make Bingo Game Materials: 1. Copy the Bingo Cards on index weight paper. Pennies can be used for game markers. 2. Copy the color pictures on index weight paper. Copy the words onto the back making sure to match Bingo Calling Cards #1, Front, with Bingo Calling Cards #1, Back, and Bingo Calling Cards #2, Front, with Bingo Calling Cards #2, Back. 3. Laminate the color pages and cut along the lines to create Bingo Calling Cards. How to Play Bingo: 1. Each student should have a Bingo Game Card and 16 pennies. 2. Stack the colored Bingo Calling Cards, and take the first one from the pile. 3. Say the sounds in the word rather than the name of the object. For example, for “cat” say /c/ /a/ /t/, using the letter sounds rather than the letter names. 4. The winner is the first player to get four pennies in a row. (Optional: play “Blackout” in which every square must be covered.) Games for Phonemic Awareness includes16 different Bingo Game Cards and Bingo Calling Cards with four cards for each of the following: 2-sound words, 3 sound words, and 4-sound words.
