HENRIK MORTENSEN | The first carbon rods were
introduced to the fly fishing market in 1977.
Today, 35 years later, a revolutionary technological
breakthrough has made it possible to design lighter
rods that are consistently smooth and extremely responsive. Zpey System is the first company that has
been able to incorporate the new Pro Nano Fusion
Elite Carbon in their design of fly fishing rods and
this has made it possible for us to present a brand
new series of saltwater fly rods for Scandinavian
conditions.
Over the past three years, Henrik Mortensen, Head
of Design and Development at Zpey, has worked on
designing the perfect Scandinavian Saltwater fly rod
series. Combining his vast knowledge of the different kinds of Scandinavian saltwater fly fishing with
his superior skills and almost life long addiction to fly
rod design, he immediately understood the potential
of this new material and here are the first results of
this wonderful fusion of material, experience and
knowledge: HM Scandic Saltwater.

condition you might encounter in Scandinavia. The
combination of the new carbon material and a new
taper design has it´s clear advantages:
• The rods are considerably lighter than their predecessors

• The tracking is fantastic and there is less wasted energy at all distances

A truly light rod for sea trout, especially in
extra shallow water where the fish are easily
spooked. Presenting the fly delicately is extremely easy with this rod. And yes, it has no
problems helping you with the longer casts
when you really need them.

from early spring to late fall. If we could only
choose one rod to go saltwater fishing with,

An evergreen classic and by far Henrik
Mortensen’s favorite when it comes to
fishing for sea trout on the coast and when
larger flies or longer casts are needed. The
action of this rod allows you to generate
incredible line speed for almost unbelievable
distances, but even during the shorter casts,
you can feel the inherent power just waiting
to be unleashed.
This is the perfect rod choice for the hard-tocatch mullets.

These crystal clear heads come in the same four weight
alternatives as the floaters (between 14 and 20 grams)
and the fantastic tapers will give you the same advantages
when it comes to loop stability, distance control, turnover
ability and presentations. The ultimate stealth qualities of
these lines will not spook even the most nervous of fish,
even in crystal clear water, and the heads will stay soft and
supple no matter the temperature.
With the same ultra small and light loops in both ends of
also these heads, the loop-to-loop set-up possibilities are
seemingly endless.

Zpey is releasing a new wonderful series of Scandinavian
saltwater floating shooting heads. These mocca coloured
beauties are tapered to load your favourite rod effectively,
to ensure incredible loop stability at all possible distances
and it will help you present your flies in even the tightest
of fishing conditions. The special, self-lubricating coating is
amazingly slick, and makes it easy to retrieve even the head
when you are fishing for difficult Scandinavian sea trout.
Just add a running line and a leader and you´re ready to go.
In both ends of these shooting heads you will find Zpeys
invention, the smallest, softest and most flexible loops on
the market, so it´s easy to prepare you own knotless loop to
loop setup that is magically close to full a WF-line, but still
retains all the advantages of a shooting head system.
These heads are available in four different sizes between
14 and 20 grams, so that you can be guaranteed to find
the perfect match for the rod of your preference. Sometimes
lines appear that makes casting so easy that it´s not fair to
fish. This is one of them.
