Important Voter Information
• You are eligible to vote in this election if you registered to vote on or before January 3, 2012 and:
1) You are a resident of the City of Destin, City of Mary Esther or City of Valparaiso; or
2) You are a registered Republican residing in Okaloosa County
• Florida is a closed primary state. Primary Elections are nominating elections, and you have to
be registered as a member of the party in whose primary you wish to vote. The Republican
Presidential Preference Primary race will only appear on ballots for voters who are registered
as Republican.
• You may request an absentee ballot by phone, email, in writing or in person to be mailed to you.
The absentee ballot must be returned to the Elections Office by 7 p.m. on Election Day.
The last day to request absentee ballots to be mailed is January 25, 2012.
• If you need to update your signature, send your signature update on a voter registration application to the Supervisor of Elections office so that it is received no later than the start of the canvassing of absentee ballots, which occurs no earlier than the 15th day before Election Day.
