KOMPAN employs specially manufactured marine plywood. The inner plies are of pine or alder and the outer always of alder.
All exposed edges of painted panels are rounded to eliminate sharp edges. A specially developed two-component
polyurethane (PUR) paint is applied to the panels. The paint meets the European Standard EN 71-3 Migration of certain
elements dealing with toys that children may suck on or lick at. The paint is available in several colours, and it is UV-stabilized
to the maximum.

very good wearing and impact strength. They are available in a number of standard colours, which are all approved in
accordance with the European Standard EN71-3, and they are tested for UV-stability. HDPE is a thermoplastic material
and can therefore be granulated and recycled in connection with disposal.

• High-pressure laminate (HPL) is used for floors, steps and other places exposed to extensive wear. HPL is a homogenous
material with a very high wearing strength. HPL consists of wood fibres and of a thermosetting binder, which is compressed
under high temperature and high pressure. The finished material is rot and fungal attack proof. HPL is approved in
accordance with the EN 71-3 standard as described under the marine plywood plates. This material is standard in all
products, expect for BASIC.
• The resin-coated Wisa Floor is a special manufactured marine plywood panel with a texture resin coating for places
exposed to high wear, such as floors and seats. The inner plies are of pine or alder wood. This floor is only used in BASIC
products.
• KOMPAN Ekogrip is a strong polyethylene (PE) board, which is laminated with an anti-slip layer of soft thermoplastic rubber
on top. The PE board ensures the required stiffness, and the rubber-layer enhances the product with excellent anti-skid
properties. This board is used for seats and climbing walls.
• The high-density polyethylene (HDPE) Sandwich plate has the same specifications as the other KOMPAN HDPE plates.
The black core becomes visible when machine texts and figures are engraved on the plate; an example of this is the
FREEGAME basket board plates.

MOMENTS Post
KOMPAN Posts are made of good quality pine (Pinus Sylvestris).
The posts are full-squared, planed, with rounded edges and
without dead knots. The posts are pressure impregnated with
Tanalith E, according to EN 351-1 and EN 335-2 standards, under
carefully controlled conditions which ensures minimal
environmental impacts. Post tops are domed or provided with a
nylon cap.
Heavy load connections to the posts are made by through bolts,
and the Wood-Do compensates for the expansion/contraction of
the wood. Wood-Do consists of a PA6 (nylon) tube.

Steel footings are made of heavy-duty, KOMPAN-designed, rolled
steel profiles, and they are connected to the posts by four long
glue- embedded, threaded steel bolts. The steel footing elevates
the timber 200 mm above surface level (marked with a knot). This
reduces the need for a maximum impregnation strength which is
good for the environment.
The rectangular indentation, 100 mm from the flange, is a ”punchout” piece that enables fitting of e.g. panels to the posts by means
of a T-bolt. The steel footings are, like all other KOMPAN steel
parts, fabricated prior to hot dip galvanization. All footings are
detachable from the posts, and they are available for in-ground
anchoring as well as for surface installation.

NATURE Post
The NATURE posts are manufactured from high grade,
100% FSC timber from Brazil. This timber is heavier than
pine wood (app. 1100 kilo per cbm.)
The dimension of the posts are 95x95, 95x135 or 135x135
[mm].
The colour of the timber is, in the beginning, light. After some
time, it gets more dark. The hard wood is very difficult to light
up and difficult to work with a knife.
NATURE posts can be delivered as wood in-ground, surface
mount or with in-ground steel footing.

FREEGAME Handrail (Hardwood)
Handrails are made of FSC certified tropical hardwood from
controlled forestry. The dimensions are 28x120 mm and the
edges are rounded in order to provide a smooth sitting area
on the lower barriers.
The handrails are attached to the vertical steel posts by
special stainless steel screws, and they are connected to
each other by a joint steel cover.

Hot dip galvanized steel parts
All KOMPAN hot dip galvanized steel parts are galvanized
after manufacturing; this protects the components 100%.
KOMPAN has special requirements to the finish of the
galvanization, and every part is being controlled separately
before shipment to our customers.

Stainless Steel Pipe
KOMPAN Stainless steel parts are made of high quality A1
and A2 stainless steel, and connection points are treated with
a pickling process. All edges are grinded to obtain a smooth
surface.

ELEMENTS Plast Panel
The ELEMENTS panels are made of blow-moulded, double
walled, UV-stabilized, coloured through polyethylene (PE)
plastic which provides a high impact resistance, even at low
temperatures.
The panels are available in green, red and blue colours, and
they have several moulded-in features.

ELEMENTS Rubber Post
The ELEMENTS posts are made of 101,6x2,5 mm hot dip
galvanized steel tubes, and they are covered with a thick
layer of specially formulated UV and ozone stabilized, impact
and wear resistant, maintenance free EPDM-rubber.
The rubber layer is applied by vulcanization – a process that
directly applies the rubber to the steel by use of pressure.
This creates a component which has a maximum adhesion of
the rubber to the steel and a uniform shape. Furthermore, the
component gains a highly resilient surface.
Grooves are moulded into the rubber layer in order to
positively locate the connection of components and activities.
KOMPAN has developed a unique adjustable footing system
for the rubber post, which is applicable for both in-ground and
surface installation.

Swing Seat
The KOMPAN swing seat is specially designed for children.
It has a curved shape with a non skid surface of
thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) which is moulded on an
insert of polypropylene (PP) plastic.
The combination of these two types of plastic gives a high
value seat with a soft, user friendly surface. The seat is
attached to the swing by use of Y-chains.

Complete Swing Hanger
The swing hanger is manufactured of UV- and ozoneprotected, dyed-through polyamide (PA) plastic. The metal
parts are of stainless steel and brass.
The movement of the swing hanger is created by two ball
bearings; furthermore, the hanger is equipped with an antitwist function which prevents twisting of the chains.
The bracket, which attach the chain to the swing hanger, is
locked by a special KOMPAN tool which protects it against
vandalism.

The swing hanger comes in two colours, red and black. The
red swing hanger is used on the MOMENTS swings,
whereas the black swing hanger is used on the ELEMENTS
swing, the NATURE Swings and the Steel Swings M962M965.

GALAXY Connection Ball
The surface of the GALAXY connection ball is made of black
rubber (TPE), which is moulded directly on a reinforced
polypropylene (PP) inlay. The core of the connection ball is
an aluminium profile which has six fixation points.
The connection ball is used to assemble all of the GALAXY
products. The hot dip galvanized poles are pre-assembled
with all connection balls in the right position for the specific
product.
The Swirvels are made of sintered stainless steel with bronze
bearings, and they are covered with black rubber (TPE). In
addition to this, the Swirvels have an inlay of PP reinforced
plastic.

The fixation points, which are not used, are covered with a

The polyester cleats are fixed into the Ekogrip® board, which is
made of polyethylene (PE), and they are bolted with stainless
steel. The bolts have anti-vandal lock-nuts.

Chain with plastic parts
The handles and connections, which are used primarily in
GALAXY and ELEMENTS products, are made of 8 mm hot
dip galvanized steel chain, and they have plastic (PA)
brackets which provide finger protection.

The MOMENTS nets and ropes are made of UV-stabilized
polypropylene (PP), and it has an inner steel cable
reinforcement. The ultimate tensile strength of the rope is at
least 2.500 kg.

The net connectors are KOMPAN designed, and they are
made of specially formulated injection-moulded polyamide
(PA) in order to ensure the maximum strength and UVstability.
Straps, which are exposed to substantial wear (horizontal
straps), are coated with a thick layer of polyurethane (PUR).
The GALAXY ropes are made of black steel reinforced
polyamide (PA) rope.

COROCORD Nets
The special ropes, of the "Hercules" type, are build up of
galvanised six-stranded steel wires where each strand is
tightly wrapped with polyamide (PP) yarn. The edge ropes
are reinforced with a core of steel wire. If the ropes are
exposed to extreme corrosion (e.g. if they are in contact with
chlorine or salty air at seaside locations etc.), the thickness of
the protective zinc coating of the steel strands and the steel
wire core can be doubled; this is optional.
The rope is tempered by a process developed by Corocord®
: the polyamide "wrapping" is inductively melted on to each
strand individually, so that, when initial friction has removed
the surface fibres, a harder polyamide coating remains which
protects each strand. Tempered Corocord® ropes are used
exclusively for spacenets produced only by Corocord®.
The rope diameter is the decisive element in creating a
feeling of safety and climbing fun experience in a spacenet.
For school children Corocord® uses net ropes of 22 mm, and
ropes of 19 mm is used for pre-school children.

is a new material. It is a

Aluminium Bracket
KOMPAN Aluminium brackets are made of high quality
aluminium, and they are die-casted into different shapes.
The brackets are used as connectors between posts and
pipes or chains in all our product lines. Where there is a
thread in the bracket, we mould-in a brass bracket as
reinforcement.

Teardrop Handle
The teardrop handle has been designed in such a way that it
can be used as a handle and a footrest. The shape and
diameter of the handle is optimal for kids, and the special
thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) rubber surface makes it
nice to touch.

These round climbing cleats are made of black polyurethane

The screws, bolts and nuts are made of either delta coated
steel or stainless A2/A4 material.
The plastic components, such as Do-Nuts etc., are made of
polyamide (PA) plastic, and they come in a number of
different colours.
