The camera will reset to factory defaults. 6 | Camera Setup ZZ-CAM INSTALLATION MANUAL After 30 seconds the camera will be connected to the network. A new window will open to setup the camera for wireless operation and remote access. 7 Click “2. Setup Camera”. “Network Settings” window will open. Click on “Setup Wifi” to setup wireless access. 7 | Camera Setup ZZ-CAM INSTALLATION MANUAL All the available wireless routers will be displayed. Choose the one the camera is connected to by clicking on the name. Enter the wireless security key at the prompt. Click “OK”. Assign a static IP address to the camera so it can be found from the internet. The application suggests an IP address but please make sure it is not in the DHCP range or is being used by another device in the network. See Determining Static IP Address below for more information. Pick any port number you will like to use. The default is 80. Please note down the IP address and port number. They will be needed during remote access setup. Click “Save” and accept the changes. The Camera will reboot for the new settings to take effect. 8 | Camera Setup ZZ-CAM INSTALLATION MANUAL The camera is now ready for wireless operation and can be accessed from the local network. To enable remote access from the internet click on “3. Setup Remote Access”. If remote access is not required or desired then skip step 8. Determining Static IP Address A Static IP address needs to meet the following critetia: The address needs to be unique. No other devices in the network can have that address. It's only the last octet (the number after the last “.”, period) of the address that is unique (e.g. 192.xxx.xxx.UUU). The last octet cannot be a 0, 1, or 255 (cannot be 192.xxx.xxx.0, 192.xxx.xxx.1, or 192.xxx.xxx.255). IF DHCP is enabled the address must be outside the DHCP range. Open your router's administrative interface and check if DHCP is enabled. If enabled then determine the DHCP range. e.g., if the DHCP server start numbering computers at 192.168.1.100 and allow 50 IP address, the last DHCP reserved address will be 192.168.1.149. Some routers display the starting and ending address (e.g 192.xxx.xxx.100 to 192.xxx.xxx.149). Stat ic IP address can be any address outside this range (number after the last decimal) but the last number cannot be 0, 1, or 255. e.g., you can pick 192.xxx.xxx.5, which is outside of the DHCP Range. If DHCP is not enabled then then all the addresses (2-254) are static address. Pick any unused static IP address. 9 | Camera Setup ZZ-CAM INSTALLATION MANUAL 8 Setup Remote Access The router's firewall needs to allow remote access from the internet. Click on the “Setup Virtual Server” tab and then click on the “Router Login” button. A new window will appear with the router admin panel. Login to the router. You you want to learn more about port forwarding or need help port forwarding your specific router you can either check your router users manual or goto www.portforward.com and lookup instructions for your router. There are 4 main items that needs to be filled. A) Port from – the unique port to be used to access the camera from the internet. If this is the only camera/device being port forwarded in this router then leave the Port from as 80. Otherwise pick a different port (like 81, 82 etc) that is unique. B) Protocol – Pick TCP. C) IP Address – This is the IP Address of the camera picked in the pre- vious step. D) Port to – This is the port of the camera picked in the previous step.
