Vanliga frågor om Control Omni
Ett streck i marginalen visar ändringar sedan förra versionen av FAQ.
1.1 När man använder Auditiv scanning så huggs orden av vid
scanning
Minska scanningshastigheten eller försök göra inspelningarna kortare.
1.2 Hur kan man lägga in egna bilder?
1.
Sätt i Micro SD-kortet i minneskortsadaptern. Micro SDkortet och minneskortsadaptern medföljer Control Omni.
2.
Anslut minneskortsadaptern till USB-porten på datorn.
Datorn kommer nu att registrera minneskortet som Flyttbar disk. OBS!
Minneskortsadaptern kan vändas fel vid insättning i USB-porten.
3.
Skapa en mapp på minneskortet och namnge mappen ”Autocopy”.
4.
Skapa en ny mapp i mappen ”Autocopy” och namnge det ”Flashdisk”. Gå
vidare på samma sätt tills följande sökväg har skapats.
”AutoCopy\FlashDisk\Gewa\Omni\user\default\images\MY OWN
PICTURES”.
5.
Flytta nu över bilden till mappen ”My own pictures” på minneskortet.
6.
Ta bort minneskortsadaptern från USB-porten.
7.
Ta bort SD-minneskortet från USB-adaptern och sätt in minneskortet i
minneskortsläsaren i Control Omni. Control Omni kommer nu automatiskt att
kopiera bilden till rätt kategori (My own pictures) i Control Omni.
OBS!
I samma stund som man sätter i minneskortet kopieras bilderna. Ingen feedback ges.
En handfull bilder tar bara några sekunder.
Bildformatet måste vara PNG (Portable Network Graphics). Bildskärmsupplösningen
i Control Omni är 320x320 pixlar och bilderna är förminskade för att passa varje
enskild knapp.
Rekommenderad bildstorlek är 150x150 pixlar eller mindre. Använd vit bakgrund för
att få bilden genomskinlig och en rekommendation är att använda 24-bitars färgdjup.

Använd ett bildbehandlingsprogram för att skala ner och konvertera bilderna, t.ex.
Paint.net som är ett gratisprogram.
1.3 Bilderna ser konstiga ut som jag lagt in i Control Omni
Om man använder bildbehandlingsprogrammet ”Paint” som medföljer Microsoft
Windows så får bilderna en randig bakgrund. Använd något annat
bildbehandlingsprogram t.ex. Paint.net eller Photoshop.
1.4 Hur kan jag lägga till extra ringsignaler I Control Omni?
1.
Sätt i Micro SD-kortet i minneskortsadaptern. Micro SDkortet och minneskortsadaptern medföljer Control Omni.
2.
Anslut minneskortsadaptern till USB-porten på datorn.
Datorn kommer nu att registrera minneskortet som Flyttbar
disk. OBS! Minneskortsadaptern kan vändas fel vid insättning i USB-porten.
3.

En handfull ringsignaler tar bara några sekunder. Ljudfilen måste vara ”wav”.

1.5 Personen som ringer upp Control Omni hör ett eko
Personen som ringer upp Control Omni hör ett eko av sin egen röst.
Ljudvolymen för hörtelefonen och mikrofonen i Control Omni är satt för högt.
Minskas volymerna så minskar problemet. Se också nästa kapitel.
För att ändra ljudvolymen följ sökväg:

1.6 Inget sker när jag ändrar mikrofonvolymen under samtal
Från mjukvaruversion1.2.5 är det ändrat så att man kan ändra mikrofonvolymen
under samtal.
Tanka ner senaste mjukvaruversion från Abilias hemsida och uppdatera Control
Omni. Se instruktioner på webbsidan hur detta görs.

1.7 Hur många telefonnummer kan jag lägga in I Kontaktlistan.
Det finns ingen begränsning men om man har många kontakter så kommer Control
Omni att gå långsamt och det kommer att bli svårt att välja telefonnummer.
1.8 Jag vill kunna demonstrera Control Omni på en stor
bildskärm
Det finns ett speciellt program som heter ”Remote Display Control ver 2.03” som
man kan använda för att kunna få upp Control Omnis bildskärm på datorn.
Programmet finns att hämtas hem från internet. Klicka på länken eller kopiera länken
till en sökmotor på internet.

Klicka på ”CeRHost” och extrahera den till datorns skrivbord.
Man behöver en USB-kabel för att koppla in Control Omni till datorn. Kabeln
(429040 Control Omni USB-kabel) kan beställas från Abilia AB.
Anslut Control Omni till datorn. Vi rekommenderar att kabeln ansluts mellan USBportarna på dockningsstationen och datorn.
Datorn kommer nu att känna av att man har kopplat in Control Omni till dator.
Win 7
En skärmbild med Windows Mobile Center kommer nu upp. Det skall stå att Control
Omni är ansluten. Är den inte ansluten nu så är det ingen ide’ att fortsätta.
(Kontrollera kabeln och testa på en annan USB-port på datorn. Man kan också testa
att koppla till USB-porten direkt på Control Omni.)
Stäng ner skärmsidan genom att klicka på krysset i övre högra hörnet.
Klicka på ”CeRHost” som du sparat på datorns skrivbord. Vänta på att Remote
Display Control startas upp och visar Control Omnis skärmbild på datorn.
Klicka OK när följande skärmbild visas.

Nu är det klart att styra Control Omni från datorns bildskärm.
WinVista
För att kontrollera att Control Omni är ansluten så kan man gå in i ”Kontrollpanelen”
och klicka på ”Center för windows enheter”.
Är den inte ansluten nu så är det ingen ide’ att fortsätta.
(Kontrollera kabeln och testa på en annan USB-port på datorn. Man kan också testa
att koppla till USB-porten direkt på Control Omni.)
Stäng ner skärmsidan genom att klicka på krysset i övre högra hörnet.
Klicka på ”CeRHost” som du sparat på datorns skrivbord. Vänta på att Remote
Display Control startas upp och visar Control Omnis skärmbilden på datorn.

1.9 Är det möjligt att ladda Control Omni från rullstolen?
Ja, det finns en speciell laddare för detta, 429065 Control Omni Converter.
1.10 Är det möjligt att använda högtalar-funktion i Control
Omni när man ringer?
Ja, från mjukvaruversion 1.3.5. Senaste version finns att ladda ner från Abilias
webbsida.

1.11 Jag har problem med att lära in knappen för att justera
volymen på en TV och knappen för att välja TV-kanaler.
Ibland kan det vara svårt att lära in dessa funktioner, det kan vara så att man t.ex. bara
ökar volymen ett steg för varje gång som man trycker på fjärrkontrollen. Använder
man då skanning så måste man börja om från början med skanningen vilket gör det
tidsödande.
När man lär in, så gör man istället en kort tryckning tvärt emot vad det står på
Control Omnis skärm och man gör det 3 ggr.
Tips!
Det finns en annan lösning som man kan använda och det är att göra en ”Macrofunktion” där man i Macrot lägger in t.ex 10 st knapptryckningar för att t.ex öka
volymen. Man gör sedan ett likadant Macro för att minska volymen. Brukaren
behöver då bara aktivera Macrot, och Macrot kommer automatiskt att öka volymen
alt. minska volymen. För att avbryta Macrot kan man trycka på vilken knapp som
helst så avbryter man Macrot. Detta fungerar både för den som använder scanning
och för den som trycker direkt på skärmen.
Samma princip kan också användas för att t.ex byta kanaler på TVn.

1.12 Hur kan jag kontrollera att det ligger ett Home ID i Control
Omni för GewaRadio (Z-wave)
1.
Anslut Control Omni till Datorns USB-ingång.
2.
Gå till datorns utforskare och klicka dig fram enligt följande sökväg:

Dator\ControlOmni\FlashDisk\Gewa\Omni\SYSTEM\DATA
4.
Klicka på ”zwmanager”. (OBS! Rör inget i filerna)
5.
Kontrollera att ”HomeID” har ett nummer, t.ex 0133D8C8.
1.13 Att återställ HomeID (Gewa Radio)till fabriksinställning
Om man har tagit en backup från en annan Control Omni så följer ”HomeID” med till
nästa enhet. Vilket innebär att det finns två enheter med samma ”HomeID”. För att
återställa Control Omni till sin ursprungliga ”HomeID” så gör man på följande sätt.
1.
Anslut Control Omni till Datorns USB-ingång.
2.
Gå till datorns utforskare och klicka dig fram enligt följande sökväg:

Dator\ControlOmni\FlashDisk\Gewa\Omni\User\Default\data
4.
Radera filen ”zwmanager”.
5.
Starta om Control Omni.

1.14 Ta bort SMS, prediktionsfil och kontaktinformation från en
backup.
När man gör en backup så sparas kontaktinformation, SMS-meddelande och
prediktionslista i backupfilen. Om man nu vill använda backupfilen till en annan
brukare så vill man inte att personlig information skall föras över till nästa brukare,
t.ex kontaktinformation. Man kan då ta bort denna information från backupen.
För att ta bort personlig information gör enligt följande:
1.
Gör en backup till minneskortet i Control Omni.
2.
Ta ur minneskortet från Control Omni.
3.
Sätt i minneskortet i minneskortsadaptern.
Minneskortsadaptern medföljer Control Omni.
4.
Anslut minneskortsadaptern till USB-porten på datorn. Datorn kommer nu
att registrera minneskortet som Flyttbar disk. OBS! Minneskortsadaptern kan
vändas fel vid insättning i USB-porten.
5.
Gå till mappen ”gewa/Omni/backup/data”. (Gör gärna en kopia på mappen
”gewa” och spara den på datorn som extra säkerhet)

Under mappen ”data” finns mapparna, addressbook, Omni, prediction,
smsmessage och zwmanager. Ta bort mapparna ”addressbook, prediction och
smsmessage”.

Ta nu ur adaptern med minneskortet från datorn.
Förbered nästa Control Omni genom att göra en återställning till
fabriksinställning.
Sätt i minneskortet i Control Omni och gör en återställning.

1.15 Control Omni tar emot ett SMS från nummer +0
SMS.et kommer varannan minut.
Lösning: På SIM-kortet finns ett gammalt SMS som måste tas bort. Det är detta SMS
som orsakar problemet. Flytta SIM-kortet till en annan mobiltelefon och radera det.
Flytta tillbaka SIM-kortet till Omni.
En fix är gjord i senare mjukvaruversion (efter 1.1.8). Senaste version finns att ladda
ner från Abilias webbsida.

1.16 Jag kan inte göra backup, SD-kortläsaren verkar vara
sönder.
Det är möjligt att göra backup även om det inte är går att gör en vanlig backup med
SD-kortet, t.ex. om SD-kortläsaren är sönder.
1.
Anslut Control Omni till datorn. Se avsnitt 1.8 hur man gör
2.
Följ länken i datorns filhanterare:
Dator\ControlOmni\FlashDisk\Gewa\Omni\user\default.
3.
Kopiera mappen ”default”. Mappen ”default” innehåller användarens alla
inställningar och har samma information som man får på SD-kortet när man
gör en backup.
4.
Om man vill använda filen för att lägga den på ett SD-kort så måste man
ändra filnamnet från ”default” till ”backup”.
Om du vill lägga filen på en SD-kort som är anslutet till USB-porten på datorn
så gör man enligt följande:

Placera mappen ”backup” i mappen ”Omni” på SD-kortet.
När man är klar så skall länken se ut enligt följande:

1.17 Control Omni slutar att sända en IR-signal efter ca 10 sek.
När man håller ner en manöverkontakt eller trycker direkt på skärmen för att sända en
IR-signal så slutar Control Omni att sända efter ca 10 sek. Detta är en
säkerhetsfunktion för att man inte av misstag skall sända en för lång IR-signal.
Från mjukvaruversion 1.1.8. är denna funktion ändrad till 60 sek.
Uppgradera Control Omni till senaste version om detta är ett behov.
1.18 Funktionen ”Samtal väntar” fungerar ej
Control Omni stöder ej funktionen ”Samtal väntar” vid användning av mobiltelefon.
Rekommendation är att stänga av denna funktion hos mobiltelefonoperatören.
1.19 Control Omni hänger sig och brukaren kan inte starta om
Ibland händer det att Control Omni hänger sig vilket gör att brukaren inte har någon
möjlighet att starta om Control Omni med sin manöverkontakt.
Från mjukvaruversion 1.2.5 finns det möjlighet för brukaren att starta om trots att
Control Omni har hängt sig. OBS! Det gäller brukare som använder en
manöverkontakt för att styra Control Omni.
Hur gör man för att få denna funktion?
1.
Tanka ner senaste version från Abilias hemsida och uppdatera Control
Omni. Se instruktioner på webbsidan hur detta görs.

Gå till inställningar i Control Omni för att aktivera Ext. Reboot.
Sökväg:

Testa funktionen genom att hålla in manöverkontakt i ca 30-60sekunder tills
Control Omni startar om. Under tiden så kommer eventuella anropsfunktioner
att aktiveras. Detta är en säkerhetsfunktion!
Låt brukaren testa funktionen för att lära sig hur det fungerar. I ett skarpt läge
så behöver man inte hålla in manöverkontakten lika länge.

1.20 Kan man kontrollera saldot på kontantkort?
Kontrollera med operatören vilket nummer man skall ringa för att få saldot redovisat i
Control Omni.
För Telia refill-kort ringer man *120#.
1.21 Kan man använda alla typer av SIM-kort
SIM-kortet för Control Omni måste fungera för GSM-nätet. Vissa typer fungerar bara
för 3G-nätet.
1.22 Jag har svårt att programmera apparater med Gewa Radio,
(Z-wave) hur gör man?

1.23 Hur man skapar en loggfil som man kan skicka till Abilia
Ibland händer det att det blir något fel i programvaran så att Control Omni låser sig
eller startar om. Problemet kanske återkommer med jämna mellanrum. För att Abilia
skall kunna ta reda på vad felet beror på, så kan man skicka en loggfil med
information vad som hände.
OBS! Innan man skickar en loggfil, så kan man prova att uppdatera till senaste
programversion och testa om felet återkommer. Senaste programversion finns att
tanka ner på Abilias webbsida. Se länk nedan. Där finns också information hur man
gör det.

Återkommer felet trots att programvaran är uppdaterad, så kan man skapa en loggfil
som man skickar in till Abilia för undersökning.
För att skapa en loggfil så gör man enligt följande:
1.
Sätt in ett minneskort i Control Omni. Se bild var man
sätter i minneskort. Ett minneskort medföljer Control
Omni.
OBS! Om man har använt minneskortet för att göra backup
bör man använda ett annat minneskort (Micro SD-kort) för
att inte riskera att backupfilen förstörs.
2.
Gå in i inställningar, följ sökvägen nedan.
 System  Kopiera loggfil  Fortsätt
3.
Ta ut minneskortet ur Control Omni och sätt in det i en
adapter. Adapter medföljer Control Omni.
4.
Sätt in adaptern i en dator och kopiera mappen ”Gewa”.
5.
Skicka filerna till Abilia serviceavdelning.
Det är viktigt att datum och tidpunkt för när felet uppstod noteras för att
underlätta felsökning. OBS! Det är datum och tid som står i Control Omni.

1.24 Jag vill inte att brukaren skall kunna gå in i inställningar
av misstag.
Om man inte vill att brukaren skall kunna gå till inställningar av misstag, så kan man
ta bort knappen ”Gå till inställningar”.
För att ta bort knapp följ sökväg:
 Sidor/knappar  Välj sida  Välj sida där knappen finns som skall rensas 
Välj denna sida  Redigera knapp  Välj knapp som skall rensas 
Mer  Välj vad som skall rensas
För att kunna komma till inställningar när knappen inte finns, så startar man om
Control Omni. Innan man kommer till startsidan så kan man välja ”Startsida ” eller
”Gå till inställningar”, välj ”Gå till inställningar”.
1.25 Jag har tagit bort knappen ”Gå till Inställningar”

Starta om Control Omni. När det kommer upp ett val mellan att gå till ”Startsida”
eller ”Gå till inställningar”, välj ”Gå till inställningar”.
För att lägga in funktionen ”Gå till inställningar” följ sökväg:
Sidor/knappar  Välj sida  Välj sida som funktionen "Gå till inställningar " skall
placeras på  Välj denna sida  Redigera knapp  Välj knapp som funktionen "Gå
till inställningar" skall placeras på  Funktion  Gå till…… Välj ”funktion”.
1.26 Jag kan inte gå in i inställningar
att Omni frågar efter PIN-koden.

Detta händer när man tagit bort knappen “Gå till inställningar” och man använder
PIN-kod för mobiltelefonen.
För att lösa detta, dra ut släden till SIM-kortet innan omstart av Omni.
Starta om Omni. Nu blir det möjligt att gå till inställningar. När man är klar med
inställningar så skjuter man in släden med SIM-kortet. Omni kommer nu att fråga
efter PIN-koden.
Ett alternativ är att inte använda någon PIN-kod.

2 GB Frequently asked questions about Control
Omni

2.1 When I am using Auditive scanning the words cut off
Decrease the scanning speed or try to make the recording shorter.
2.2 How can I add my own pictures to Control Omni?
1.
Insert the Micro memory card into the memory card
adapter. The Micro memory card and adapter is enclosed in
the package for Control Omni.
2.
Connect the adapter to the USB port on the computer. The computer will
now register the memory card as a movable disc. Note! The memory card
adapter might be turned in wrongly when inserted in the USB port.
3.
Create a folder on the memory card and name the folder “AutoCopy”.
4.
Create a new folder in the “AutoCopy” folder and name it “FlashDisk”. Go
on in the same way until you have the following path.
AutoCopy\FlashDisk\Gewa\Omni\user\default\images\MY OWN PICTURES.
5.
Transfer the image to the folder “My own pictures” on the memory card.
6.
Remove the memory card adapter form the USB port.
7.
Remove the memory card from the adapter and insert the memory card to
the SD-card reader in Control Omni. Control Omni will now automatically
copy the images to the correct category (My own pictures) in Control Omni.
To use the image in Control Omni, see section “Adding images” in the Manual

At the moment, unfortunately, there is no feedback on the copy procedure or when it
is finished. I.e. a handful of pictures take just a couple of seconds.
The image type must be PNG (Portable Network Graphics).
The screen resolution on the Control Omni is 320x240 pixels.
And the image is down stretched to fit on a selected button.
So a recommended image size is approx. 150x150 pixels or less.

Use white background to get the image transparent and it's recommended to use 24bit colour depth.
Use an image editor to downscale and convert your pictures. An example of such
image application is the freeware Paint.net.

The images look strange that I put into Control Omni
If you use the image editing software “Paint” which comes with Microsoft Windows,
may form a striped background. Use another image editing software such
as Paint.net or Photoshop.
2.4 How can I add extra ringtones to Control Omni?
1.
Insert the Micro memory card into the memory card
adapter. The Micro memory card and adapter is enclosed in
the package for Control Omni.
2.
Connect the adapter to the USB port on the computer. The
computer will now register the memory card as a movable disc. Note! The
memory card adapter might be turned in wrongly when inserted in the USB
port.
3.
Create a folder on the memory card and name the folder “AutoCopy”.
4.
Create a new folder in the AutoCopy folder and name it “FlashDisk”.
Continue in the same way until you have the following path.
AutoCopy\FlashDisk\Gewa\Omni\user\default\ringtones.

Transfer the ringtone file (wav) to the folder “ringtones” on the memory
card.

Remove the memory card adapter form the USB port.
Remove the memory card from the adapter and insert the memory card to
the SD-card reader in Control Omni. Control Omni will now automatically
copy the ringtone to the correct folder.

The soundfile type must be WAV.

2.5 The person who is calling Control Omni hear an echo
The person who is calling Control Omni may hear an echo of his own voice.
The volume of the earphone and microphone on Control Omni is set too
high. Reduced volume will decrease the problem. See also next paragraph.
Change the sound volume by the following procedure:

2.6 Nothing happens when I change the microphone volume
during a call
The Microphone volume cannot be changed during a call.
From software version 1.2.5 is this updated so it is possible to change the microphone
volume during a call.

2.7 How many telephone numbers can I put in the Contact
list?
There is no limit but if you have too many contacts it will slow down Control Omni
and it will also be too complicated to choose the numbers.

2.8 I want to demonstrate Control Omni on a big screen
You can find a software program with the name “Remote Display Control ver 2.03”
that can be used to install the display of Control Omni on the computer. The software
can be found on the Internet.
Click on “CeRHost” or copy it to extract it to the computer desktop.

You need a USB-cable to connect Control Omni with the computer. The cable
(429040 Control Omni USB cable) can be ordered from Abilia AB.
Connect Control Omni to the computer. We recommend you to connect the cable
between the USB-ports on the docking station and the computer.
The computer will now detect that Control Omni has been connected.
Win 7
A screenshot of Windows Mobile Center will now appear. It should state that Control
Omni now has been connected. If it has not been connected do not continue.
(Check the cable and try to connect it to another USB-port on the computer. You can
also try to connect it directly to the USB-port on Control Omni.)
Shut down the screen page by clicking the X in the upper right corner.
Click on “CeRHost” saved on the desktop. Wait for the Remote Display Control to
start and to show the Control Omni screenshot on the computer.

Click OK when the following screenshot is shown.
It is now possible to control Control Omni from the computer screen.

To check that Control Omni is connected enter the “Control Panel” and click
on”Center för windows units”.
If it has not been connected do not continue.
(Check the cable and try to connect it to another USB-port on the computer. You can
also try to connect it directly to the USB-port on Control Omni.)

2.9 Is it possible to charge Control Omni from the wheelchair?
Yes, there is a special converter for this, 429065 Control Omni Converter.
2.10 Is it possible to use speaker phone function when calling?
Yes, from software version 1.3.5. Please download the latest SW from Abilia

2.11 I have problems to program the button to adjust the
volume on a TV and the button to choose TV-channels.
It is sometimes difficult to program these functions, you might just increase the
volume one step every time you press the remote control. If scanning is used you
have to restart from the beginning with the scanning which becomes time-consuming.
When programming, make 3 quick presses quite contrary to what it says on the
screen on Control Omni.
Tip
There is another solution that you can use and that is to make a “Macro” function
where the macro has e.g. 10 button presses to e.g. increase the volume. You then
make a similar macro to decrease the volume. The user only need to activate the
macro, and the macro will automatically increase the volume alt. decrease the
volume. To cancel the macro, you can press any button on Control Omni. This works
both for users which is using scanning and users which press directly on the screen.
The same principle can also be used to change channels on the TV for example.

2.12 How can I check that there is an Home ID in Omni for
GewaRadio (Z-wave)

Connect Control Omni to the USB-port on the computer.
Go to the explorer of the computer and click forward by the following
procedure:

2.13 To reset HomeID (Gewa Radio) to factory default
If a backup has been made from another Control Omni the “HomeID” will be
transferred to the next unit, which means there are two units with the same
“HomeID”. To reset Control Omni to its original “HomeID”, do as follows:

2.14 Remove SMS, prediction file and contact information from
a backup.
When making a backup, contact information, SMS-messages and the prediction list
are saved in the backup file. If you want to use the backup file for another user, you
do not want private information to be transferred to the next user, eg. contact
information. On such occasions, this information can be erased from the backup.
To erase private information do as follows:
1.
Make a backup to the memory card in Control Omni.
2.
Remove the memory card from Control Omni.
3.
Insert the memory card into the memory card adapter. The
memory card adapter is included with Control Omni.
4.
Connect the memory card adapter to the USB-port on the computer. The
computer will now register the memory card as Removable disk. Note! The
memory card adapter can easily be turned wrongly when inserted into the
USB-port.
5.
Go to the folder “Gewa/Omni/backup/data”. (We recommend you to make a
copy of the folder “Gewa” and save it on the computer for extra security)
6.
In the folder “data” there are the folders, address book, Omni, prediction,
smsmessage and zwmanager. Erase the folders “address book, prediction and
smsmessage”.
7.
Remove the adapter with the memory card from the computer.
8.
Prepare the next Control Omni by making a reset to factory default.
9.
Insert the memory card into Control Omni and make a restore.

2.15 Omni receives an SMS message from number +0
The SMS comes every 2 minutes
Solution: On the SIM card there is an old SMS message which must be deleted. This
SMS cause the problem. Move the SIM card to another mobile phone and delete the
SMS and then move the SIM card back to Omni.
A fix is made which will come in later SW versions (after 1.1.8). Please download
the latest SW from Abilia website.

2.16 I can’t make a backup, the SD card reader seems to be
broken.
It is possible to make a backup even if you not are able to make an ordinary backup
with the SD card, e.g. the SD card reader is broken.

Connect Control Omni to the computer. See section 2.8

Follow the link in the computer´s file manager:

Copy the folder “Default”. The folder “Default” contains all the user settings
and have the same information you get on the SD-card when you make a
backup.

If you want to use the file to put on a SD card, you need to change the name
“Default” to “Backup”.
If you want to put the file on a SD-card which is connected to the USB port on
the computer, proceed as follows:

Place the folder “Backup” in the folder “Omni”, on the SD-card.
When you are ready the link should look as follows:

2.17 Control Omni stops transmitting an IR-signal after approx.
10 sec
When pressing a control switch or touching the screen directly to transmit an IRsignal Control Omni stops transmitting after approx. 10 sec. This is a safety feature
that you may not accidently transmit a too long IR-signal.
From SW version 1.1.8 this function has been changed to 60 sec.
Upgrade Control Omni to the latest version if needed.
2.18 "Call is waiting" does not work.
Control Omni does not support the feature ”Call is waiting” when using a mobile
phone. We recommend you to turn off this feature with the mobile phone operator.
2.19 Control Omni gets blocked and the user cannot restart
Control Omni
Occasionally Control Omni gets blocked so that the user has no way to restart
Control Omni with his control switch.
From software version 1.2.5, it is possible for the user to restart Control Omni when
it is blocked. NOTE! This applies to users who use a control switch for controlling
Control Omni.
How can I do to get this function?

Download the software from Abilia website and upgrade Control Omni. See

Go to settings in Control Omni to activate Ext. Reboot.

To test this function by holding down the control switch in about 30 to 60
seconds until the Control Omni restarts. Meanwhile, any alert functions will be
activated. This is a safety issue!
Let the user test the function to learn how it works. In a sharp situation you do
not need to hold the control switch that long.

2.20 Is it possible to check the balance on the refill card?
Check with the operator which number you should call to get the balance recognized
in Control Omni.
2.21 Can I use any SIM card?
SIM card for Control Omni must work for the GSM network. Some types only works
for the 3G network.
2.22 I find it hard to program devices with Gewa Radio (ZWave)

2.23 How to create a log file that you can send to Abilia
Sometimes it happens that there is an error in the software so that the Control Omni
freezes or restarts. The problem may recur periodically. To facilitate troubleshooting,
you can send a log file with information what happened to Abilia.
NOTE! Before sending a log file, you can try to update to latest software and test if
this solves the problem. Latest software is available to be downloaded on Abilias
website. See the link below. There is also information how to do it.

If the error recurs despite the software is updated, you can create a log file that you
send to Abilia for investigation.
To create a log file, proceed as follows:

Insert a memory card into the Control Omni. See picture
where you put in the memory card. A memory card is
supplied with the Control Omni.
NOTE! If you have used the card to make a backup, you
should use a different memory card (Micro SD card) to
avoid the risk that the backup file is destroid by mistake.
2.
Go into settings, follow the path below.
 System  Copy log file  Continue
3.
Remove the memory card from the Control Omni and
insert it into an adapter. An adapter is included with
Control Omni.
4.
Insert the adapter into your PC and copy the folder "Gewa".
5.
Send the file to Abilia service department.
It is important that the date and time when the error occurred is noted to facilitate
troubleshooting. NOTE! The date and time that you find in Control Omni!

2.24 I don’t want the user to enter settings by mistake
If you don’t want the user to enter settings by mistake, it is possible to remove the
button ”Go to settings”.
Remove a button by the following procedure:
 Pages/buttons  Select page  Select the page on which the button to be
cleared is located  Select this page  Edit button  Select the button that is to be
cleared  More  Choose what is to be cleared
To be able to reach settings when there is no button, restart Control Omni. Before the
start page is shown, you are able to choose between “Start page” and “Go to
settings”, choose ”Go to settings”.

2.26 I am not able to go to settings
when I restart Omni,
because Omni is asking for the PIN code.
This happens when you have removed the button “Go to settings” and you are using
the PIN code for the mobile phone.
To solve this, just pull out the sleigh for the SIM card before you restart Omni.
Restart, and you will be able to go to settings. When you are ready with the settings,
you just push the sleigh back with the SIM card. Omni will now ask for the PIN code.
An alternative is to not use PIN codes.
