through the following pages with your camper(s). This manual will help you and your child

attached forms and provide them to a MRU Kids staff member on the first day of registration.
We welcome any questions, suggestions or concerns about the programs, staff or facility,

more than likely we are missing some information
Important information regarding groupings: MRU Kids will group children together
whenever possible. We do advise that children will be placed in a group according to the
age of the YOUNGEST member of the grouping. For example, if your child is 5 and wants to
be grouped with their older sibling who is 9, the 9 year old child will be placed in a grouping
with 5-6 year olds. MRU Kids strongly discourages a grouping similar to this as we find
4
children have the most fun when grouped with other similarly aged children. While this is
our recommendation, we will still allow groupings for differently aged children.
Lunch & Meal Program:
Parents are welcome to send their child to camp with a packed lunch, or you can register for
our daily lunch program. Lunches are 30 minutes in duration
We request that parents do NOT send your child to camp with money for the following
reasons:
1. Vending machines are not available to MRU Kids participants
2. MRU Kids participants are NOT able to buy lunch from the cafeteria on campus
3. MRU Kids participants do not have access to on-campus or off-campus vendors
A. Packed Lunches:
•
•
•
•
Label your child’s lunch kit and water bottle
Refrigeration is not available
A microwave is available (for onsite programs)
Pack extra snacks for before and after lunch
B. Lunch Program:
Offered in partnership with MRU’s on-campus food provider. The lunch program is a blend of
healthy alternatives and kid-friendly lunch options. MRU Kids recommends packing snacks in
addition to the food provided on the lunch program.
Lunch programs must be purchased at least 3 business days prior to the camp start date
through registration (403-440-3833).
For detailed information about the Lunch Program please visit our website at
www.mtroyal.ca/mrukids or phone the MRU Kids office at 403-440-6001.
